    Entry #23
    "Battlefield - Swords Bursting"
    Scored by Koshiro Yuzo
    Game: 7th Dragon
    Year: 2009
    Publisher: Sega
7th Dragon is a NDS RPG that didn't come out of Japan, so I didn't play it. I did check out videos to make sure this theme plays often, it plays in normal random encounters in the overworld and dungeons. It has that vintage feel to it with the old school SNES engine, like the towns and your party members walking behind you (remember Lufia 2?) and "first person battles" (think Earthbound). It truly is a shame this game isn't coming out in english, it has an extremely pleasant soundtrack composed by Koshiro Yuzo, one of the most acclaimed VGM composers, and rightly so, considering his resume: Ys I and II, Streets of Rage, ActRaiser, Sonic the Hedgehog and Etrian Odyssey just to name a few titles.
I actually learned about this one from a rearranged album of 7th Dragon's OST by Hibino Norihiko, better known for his work in the Metal Gear Solid series. The piece is a rearranged medley of "Battlefield - Swords Bursting" and "Battlefield - Howl, Veteran Soldiers!". It has a little tango feel that I just find amazingly pleasant. The whole album, really.
I'll leave you a link to the piece in question.

(Why no 16:9 image? I swear I look everywhere, but I just can't seem to find anything sometimes.)
