Glorantha might be the fictional world I have the most love for, having found Runequest 2e way back when I was maybe 13. It’s so rich and felt so different than anything else while still feeling “right” in how a Bronze Age world understands that world through its myths. And everyone knows that character creation is the best part of any of these games and I love it when actual plays include it. So this is ace.
So happy this crew are playing RQ! I'm relatively new to Glorantha as GM & I can say I enjoyed every second of running it. Josephine - love your Leech Belrose in Haunted City!
So glad to see this hitting the streamers and getting more attention. For those watching and taking their steps into Glorantha. Welcome and remember YGWV (Your Glorantha Will Vary).
This game is gonna be so good! 🔥 I am really excited to see how crazy things get in the next few episodes. Plus I love when the character creation process is shown. This one is really intriguing. Not sure when but I may have to pick this game up at some point.
Noura's Green elves, slightly different stats to humans (see bestiary).... the Red Moon sits in the sky (literally hovering not all that far up from the centre of the Lunar provinces, it was raised up by the Red Goddess from the world) and can be seen from Dragon Pass and further beyond. Think a large Red Globe in the distance with the sky and stars almost painted on the Sky behind. Also, Harrek has a Bear skin of a demi god on his back (charismatic in a scary as hell way).
So excited to see this playthrough! Been trying to get my current group to try ANY Chaosium system, hoping to use this to get that ball rolling! Cheers, everyone, and looking forward to seeing this unfold
Wow. Never thought you'd play RQ again. Awesome. Though, have to point out that Aldryami have their own characteristics rolls. All Noura's numbers were in the range for Aldryami so doesn't really matter. But normally you can't have 6 feet tall duck.
Interesting video, it's been thirty - forty years since I played Runequest. It sounds much more prescriptive than I remember with rune% having a determining factor over some of your decision making...if I'm understanding you correctly. Mid eighties into the nineties Rune Lord (long retired) looking forward to watch the video ......thirty cults wow😮 think they're were eight in my day. Dragon Pass is a bit new to me too....think we focused on the plains land of Prax.....the old book Cults of Prax influencing our games heavily. Well you're creating characters now so I'm off to view all seems very different so far.
Really excited to watch this and the other GC runequest stuff. The only trepidation i have with RQ is strike ranks, I get what they were going for but it feels like its going to unessesarily bog down an already crunchier version of BRP. Unless I feel different after watching this Ill probabaly just use dex and homebrew weapon strike ranks to add onto the initiative.
Wow. I had zero interest in Runequest going into this session and now I'm quite intrigued. Is it a great system, or just this all star cast (and great GMing, Brian!)?!? Chaosium take my money!
It's wild there are so few kingdom management games like King of Dragon Pass, which had flaws but was awesome! (Their recent game, Six Ages, mostly just being a remake and adding little:( )
Take this with a grain of salt but if I remember correctly, the last time I saw her on the GCN (New Game Who Dis) she was about to have a kid. So maybe that's why she hasn't been on recently.
@@rdp16rulez Salt indeed- since they never addressed it or mentioned her after. It lends the notion that it was something less than ideal! But naturally: I'm purely speculative. So thats only more salt for you.
It dawned (ha) on me that the sky was lightening behind Brian as they played. Big props to him for committing so hard to the show
He's the best!
DM's vibe on point. Hire him for a full campaign.

The crunch is insane. I am "simpler systems" kind of guy, but If I were to go for something crunchy, I think I would give RQ a try before any other
Hit locations is what sold me on RQ back in the early '80s.
So happy. Runequest is my favorite game. Ever.
Honestly a suoer fun session 0. Excited for the rest. I quite like the massive, violent Gagarthite who fights and kills without hating his foes

Thanks!

Fantastic game and cast, I'm pumped! Also, it was fun to see the sun rise in Brian's background.
Dam this game looks good. I've been looking for a game that's high fantasy but is brutal like Warhammer fantasy and here we are!
Glad you found us!
I really, genuinely enjoyed that and am stoked to see the first ep of playing the game. What a fun group this was!

Josephine had to roll on a table to find out what DIDN'T HAPPEN! Traveler be jelly.
Fantastic cast! I missed Noura! ❤

With an Honour score and a history like that, I would have thought Josephine was a natural Humakti.
For someone who knows a lot of Glorantha I absolutely lost it at your YGMV. I am here for hot boi Harrek
Pumped, just started playing in a long term Runequest game, the lore and world is so deep and good, and love the GCN folks playing it again.
This was tremendously fun!

Seeing RQ on the GCP makes my heart sing.
One of my favorite characters was a member of the Star Bear cult. Runequest has such a fun setting
I'm not missing this series!

Playing RuneQuest myself i love seeing this! Sadly there is not much good content with decent audio quality.
Always watch RQ streams.
Josephines character is a living legend.........The other 3 meh ! ....lol.....Though it did get more balanced by the end.
Loving it. Shouldn't Noura's Aldyrami have had different stats to the others or am I missing something?
I think RQ 2nd ed. was the first game system i ever bought back in the eighties.

Can't wait for part 2!
Very cool, can't wait to see these characters in action, what are the delay rules, asking for a friend
Just found this channel and I love watching character gen
I play mythras which is runequest adjacent. A little better combat.
Looking forward to these.

Brian I have fond memories of the Winning Agenda and ANR.
Exited to watch you all play this game!
We are sexcited to play it!
😮
I've bought the books 2 weeks ago and I can tell: The Elf don't roll the same dices for their stats...
Rune quest is great, hopefully someone plays a duck
Awesome
Joe(sephine)'s character is a straight Sociopath. Not a bad thing! I resemble this statement.
whoa that intro music

I didn't know GCN invited Pat Benatar to play!
Uumm whatever happen to Elenor or however you spell her name. The lady from Sweden. I know it’s kinda random but was just wondering.
I searched online and found no clue. My guess is interpersonal complications. Unfortunate, cause she was a goldmine of content. Alas! A lass.
Take this with a grain of salt but if I remember correctly, the last time I saw her on the GCN (New Game Who Dis) she was about to have a kid. So maybe that's why she hasn't been on recently.

Aussie's represent.
So funny hearing Aussie slang words being thrown out there, which is hilarious for me, but the players just not reacting
CHA is NOT a dump stat.
