Oh yeah! Hopefully it doesn’t get to that haha. One of the main things I wish they had in modern tech is a safer battery. So, if it’s dropped, cut open, etc. it won’t explode and cause an injury to someone. That said, the SE 1st Gen is still a beast of a phone in a small form factor. It has really lasted quite a bit longer than the iPhone 4 and 5 in terms of speed overall. I just wish I had the 64 GB or 128 GB version, instead of 32 GB! It’s getting harder to find good quality models online as time wears on since they have been discontinued.
Great Video. super detailed and so so helpful. Wife has the 1st Gen. and camera sucks and the screen is tiny. the new SE looks like a good gift so came here to see the camera comparison as its the same but can see your examples the chips and software processes much better! anyway thanks again for the detailed video!
Your screen protector is probably screwing up the front facing camera on the 1st gen SE. Did you clean both lenses on the back before taking the pictures and videos?
Great! Thanks for the comparison. As an owner of the 1st gen SE, I still reaaaallly like it’s size. I had a chance to get a "free” iPhone 8 a couple years ago, but have kept my SE original instead mostly due to its portability, battery life, and standard 3.5 mm headphone jack. The iPhone 8 was great to use at a desk, but once I take one those huge phones in my pocket, such as the iPhone 8/SE 2nd Gen or larger, I notice that they quite literally weigh me down over the day. We just live in the HUGE smartphone age since everyone wants to see their content on a massive screen. I get it. I am still contemplating either to purchase a 2nd Gen SE or even a more expensive iPhone Mini 12, since the 12 mini is smaller in overall dimensions than the new SE. I also put a new battery from Apple into my iPhone SE in summer 2020, so the battery life is fine, although down to 93% health already! The SE is still fast too. Although, not as fast as it was in summer 2008 after some iOS updates. I could always keep my 1st Gen SE and buy another iPhone or try a decent Android phone, and swap the SIM card out to whichever phone I feel I want to use at the time.
Love the Gen1 all metal body squared sides. Size . Still getting updates. iOS15.7.1 just downloaded 11/2022.. Bought NIB 2 years ago on ebay. still 100% battery..
I just got this phone but it only has the usb-c lightning calble. Can I use the socket charger and cable from the old SE? will it endanger my phone in any way?
@No-reply banjeee I bought a socket charger in the end. My old laptop only had the old type of usb cable, while my new one has the new type. Still a shitty move from apple, imo
the 1st SE has long been discontinued so you can't really buy it brand new anymore with warranty. I had purchased mine back in 2016. If you want a budget iphone in 2021, best get the 2nd SE.
@@eamonob84 It did to my surprise. The 6s and SE 1st gen will so into the sunset together as some of the greatest Iphones of all time. The 11 series is now their greatest model, 12 and 13 were minor upgrades to be honest.
Great price??? The Umidigi A9 pro is a mid-range smartphone with better screen with no cuts and FHD+ ips and Android 10 stock and a thermometer because we are in Covid-19 times and a type C and fast charging in simple words is a Samsung galaxy a51 but more cheap it cost 120 dollars (it is not a Samsung but I am saying it is similar)
Android phones slow down very quickly especially some no name brand like Umidigi. My iPhone SE from 2016 is still running just as fast as it did day 1. If you take a look at other reviewers they all agree iPhone SE 2020 is a great deal.
Well, the capacity is similar, with 1624 mAh for SE 1st Gen and 1821 mAh capacity for iPhone 8/SE 2nd Gen. So, it’s not a huge leap as in being 2,500 mAh or more as other iPhones or Androids, but it’s higher at least. Maybe what you heard is a person meant that they have the same type o fan battery chemistry as all gadgets today still use Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries. We have been sort of stuck on those batteries for some time.
The old one is so much cooler. I keep mine until it explodes or something.

Damn I cant Help me but I love the iPhone 5 form Factor. Still my fav 🥰

Excellent Comparision! Far better than what most do today. Thank You!
Don't forget the audio port that allows you to use your phone AND charge it at the same time!
Your hands are so small the SE looks like an 8 Plus
Just another day for the servey core
Thats what I thought at first
Great!

1st gen SE still supported by Apple. The cash machine at Walmart offered me $7 for mine, so I said no thanks, kept it. It still works well.
u can use "trade & upgrade" from apple.
God help me... I can’t decide which one to keep. I love them both
iPhone se 1st generation is perfect

Very informative...thanks
Thanks so much. Nice job.
Thanks for this detailed and frank review. I still love my SE first gen, but would love a better camera. Rats.
Good honest realistic review, nice job
How small are your hands the phones look huge
Hold on does the SE 2ND gen come up with airphones and charger?
not anymore after Sept 2020
Will the sim tray fit for it?

where do i buy the iphone se 1st gen new like she did?
i need a budget phone for college n i think buying a refurbished one is too risky

Great review.
Apple released the Se in 2017 with 64gb and 128gb.
2016 not 2017 I had one
Yep. 2016.
Awesome challenge
Se 1st gen support, how much longer?
They need to get rid of The 5s, 5c, 6 and the 6 plus then the SE 1st gen.
iOS 14 is its last version. It won’t get iOS 15 next year.

Thankyou 🎉
Small but terrible se 1st gen is perfect
its either your hands are extremely small or those phones got enlarged
Se looks very large but it isn’t

I was just told that these iphones share the same battery is that true? 😐
No, SE 2 has a similar battery to iPhone 8.
