Excellent overview. After I recently purchased a new car, I decided to professionally hardwire a two channel dashcam. Over the weekend I was nearly sideswiped by a pickup truck driving erratically, swerving across two lanes. The incident occurred at night and I didn’t see the pickup until he was already on my side view, driving over 80 mph. Luckily I didn’t get hit as I was able to avoid a collision. The next morning, I realized I could probably replay the incident from my dashcam. I was able to retrieve both the front and rear camera video. I was able to zoom in on the vehicles plates and identify the make/model. Now I realize that I made a very wise decision investing in this device.
I am an Uber driver in El Paso Texas and would like to know if the use of an interior dash cam to record drunk riders is legal in Texas and in El Paso County specifically. I contacted Uber and they stated that they can't tell me not to use one but that my riders would feel uncomfortable and ultimately not want to ride with me again. I have seen videos of rides going nuts on uber drivers on you tube and I had one incident where I was really uncomfortable and would have wished to have had a dashcam recording the passengers antics. I mean get one without audio o inside recording, meaby buy two and put one in the back recording the cars not the interior, I think you need evidence of the other cars and not what it's happening on the interior right?
@@peccatumDeiwho determines what is evidence? I have cameras on my house and the cops refuse to act when people trespass saying they have to see it and my pictures and videos doesn’t count as them seeing it.

I think most dash cams with audio have a feature where you can turn the audio off so it does not record sound.

It would be stupid to give your video to others if it's your fault. You only use clips that can help your case.
