YES! I have a $35 Yi dashcam and it paid for itself the first month I had it. Driver rear ended me but lied to cop saying I brake checked him. Cop started writing me the ticket and making me the at fault driver. I showed him the dashcam video which proved I didn't brake check him. I had been sitting still at a red light for an entire minute with two cars in front of me. Cop ended up giving the other driver the ticket and made him at fault. The ticket and damage to both vehicles was over $2,000 which the other driver had to pay. That $35 camera saved me $2k.
Entry-level dash cam, all it needs to show is that your light was green when you got hit. Turn off on-screen vehicle speed as it will only "prove" that you were driving "too fast for conditions"
Worse penalty when the judge finds out you tampered with evidence. You could be caught on other drivers rear facing cameras, traffic monitoring cameras, etc.
Tons of dash cams on the road already because of gig drivers. Uber, Lyft, Door Dash, GrubHub. Both for safety & proof of delivery. Also automotive & motorcycle enthusiasts. Yes, I believe they will become ubiquitous. Entry level models as cheap as $35.

It pays for itself
In Detroit? Are you kidding me. Yes of course
Yep and anywhere else humans live
Anywhere in the world. People can't drive anywhere.
I’ve been trying to get my dad to buy a dash cam since I found out the advantages of a dashcam
The answer is YES. They should be standard in every vehicle.

I've caught some crazy drivers on my dash cam. It's easy to remove and put back on. Just don't forget to remove it at night.
ive used my gopro as a dash cam for 6 years
Of course cop’s would say videos are deceiving and may not tell the full story. 🤷🏽♂️
You’d be better off getting a .44 magnum
If you’re at fault just get rid of the dash cam before the cops come lol.

Detroit, break in ? Ya think???
They're not needed & don't actually save you from anything.
saves you if someone lies about causing an accident
