    That's what controls the adaptive cruise control. I did change my grill to the pro and had a warning, I put some washers and they work some days, some days when I'm using the cruise control I get the warning, so I say screw it, I can still use the cruise control if you hold the button in for about 2-3 seconds like the old style cc and that's what bypass the adaptive cc.

  • @useryggfdcc
    @useryggfdcc 3 года назад +1

    I thought above this and had the same solution. The TSS sensor is scanning the road ahead and lifting will/can mess with the scanning.
    My tip: remove the whole grill and then do the mod. Easy to remove the grill anyway.
    Also take before and after pics of the angle of the sensor.

    • @RobMotive

      I’d ask them to put that in writing and tell them that if you’re involved in an accident and someone is killed that they refused solely because you didn’t buy Toyota’s lift. Also ask for the correct spelling of the name of the service manager refusing (you should have this conversation with the manager). It is a safety system after all….

    @kevin.waldron Год назад

    This should be a big help. Thanks man. I ran into an instance where my truck is lifted 3 inches and my windshield broke. Took it to Safelite to get it replaced and he cleared my calibration. Then when he went to recalibrate he couldn't get anything to line up. So now I've been driving around for 8 months with no calibration. Which turns off all my safety features AND I have no cruise control.
    I can't view any info on my dash because I have 3 error messages that appear as fast as I can delete them.
    So HOPEFULLY putting a few washers on the bottom of the sensor will get it to where they can calibrate it.
    How many washers do you think I'd need?

    • @RobMotive
      @RobMotive  Год назад

      Should take care of it. Shouldn’t need many. In essence you’re just trying to point it where it originally was - that btw is the calibration 👍

    So, I haven't lifted my truck, I did, however, level it 2 inches in the front. Now, when I had my stock grille & original sensor, everything was perfectly fine. Drove the truck for over a year like that, never an issue with the TSS.
    So, a few months ago, I put an aftermarket grille on (extremely similar to the TRD PRO style grille). I relocated the sensor, as instructed, but it no longer works.. No cruise control or any of those features..
    Does anyone have a solution? I heard putting washers behind it. Does that work?

    • @RobMotive

    Thanks Rob, makes sense that the pro sensor is lower to accommodate the one inch stock lift on the pro. There must be some tolerance to accommodate carrying a load in the bed, too. Would be curious to see what the sensors “fanning” diameter is based on distance - I doubt that it projects out in a straight line like a laser would - therefore there must be some tolerance. One of the best ways to test it is with the dynamic cruise control.
