Hi , I clean and lubricate the flintlocks after every shooting session. The percussion locks , about every third time , [ they don't get so dirty ] . By and large , Pedersoli locks are well made , however I am experiencing a problem with the Mortimer and am looking into a way of resolving the dilemma . Will let you know when that happens .
Damnnn. I was hoping to fix the mechanism to my old musket. Turns out the mainspring is missing and the small part that hooks to the main spring has turned to dust. Feel like I would need to find a blacksmith to ever get this working now lol..
nice work , i have two side locks badly rusted the screws did not move at all even the head of the screw damaged , i dont know what to do , could you help me with an advice or guidance, thanks
Hi , you didn't say which screws are rusted . However if the locks are out of the gun you could carefully heat the screw with a small oxyacetylene flame . If this is not possible , soak them in penetrating oil for a few days . Sometimes a nut can be welded on the head of a screw to allow a spanner to be used. A good way to break corrosion bond is to soak the part in a mixture of lemon juice and vinegar . Get an experienced welder to do any heating or welding . Good luck .
This is great, starting the process of making my own from scratch and this was extremely helpful! Thank you so much

I heard, Dixie Gun Works has a gunsmith who repairs Pedersoli locks, in case you can't resolve the problem yourself.
