I love the people in this comment section saying you have to mix the oil in this sled😅😅😅 it has oil injection you don't have to mix the oil in the gas, and if you eliminate the oil injection that's a good way to burn up the lower end of the motor the oil injection is how the crank gets oil.
As a Minnesotan who’s been around snowmobiles his entire life this is so comical to me. Most important thing about a rebuild on a snowmobile is to figure out WHY it blew up.
I legit had the same clutch problem. Take off the clutch face cover off, and clean everything up with brake clean. Move the clutch back and forth to free it up. Once you have it clean, it should work way better.
Clayton is a good guy, because he actually reads his fans comments and replies to them, other people don't do that much, keep up the good work Clayton!
The awesome part of 2 stokes is you can rebuild it yourself fairly easily. I’ve rebuild tons of them and I enjoy doing it. Use oem parts though, had some China specials and due to the clearances they make much less compression then they should.
The piston expands faster than the cylinder cause of coolant so it might need a higher temp thermostat or a cylinder blanket to keep things good and warm. Cant wait for the 6 slow videos
Your hair is looking so pretty now it's got longer😂😅At least the engine problem should be easily fixable. You say it never snows, but there's snowmobile tracks next to every road and you easily managed to buy 1😂😅.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK
Not saying you don’t know this you seem like a pretty intelligent guy when it comes to engines but just to be safe I always premix my oil+gas. Especially when it gets really cold out. The oil can become viscose or use a lot depending on situation either way no oil no good
As soon as it started dying I knew what was wrong. My 4 wheeler had the same problem it kept dying one day and wouldn’t start at all.So we took it to the shop and apparently oil hadn’t been going to the engine and my pistol look exactly like yours.
“What in Dale Jr, what a fricken piece of garbage, idiot” dude I was dying laughing and why do people dislike this video!? You guys have anything better to do??
When you ran out of gas while at the gas station when you were getting gas. Did you also put 2 stroke oil in it with the gas or if it has a separate reservoir
Every time I buy a used sled I always make sure to drain all the gas, mix my own so I know what ratio it’s at and change the oil. You can never take anyone’s word on things anymore.
Make sure the oil injection is working, I would premix some oil into the fuel to be safe. Clean the carbs/replace jets and make sure there is no air leaks on the intake boots. Also let it warm up a few minutes before riding it or it can cold seize, the piston expands faster then the cylinder.
Memories of being a kid used be able to snowmobile from mid November to early April without fail. Now lucky to ever get enough snow to get the snowmobile out once or twice a season. "IF" we get lucky that is .....
3:30 huge lack of two stroke premix, judging by the exhaust smoke, or lack of. sounds like a two stroke, but she aint really smoking like a two stroke. sounds pretty rough too, maybe its just cold or maybe the damage was done before you even got it. Either way Thanks for the video!!!!
It originally was spelled wrong when he first put the video up, but now he fixed it. Y'all watched the video after he corrected it so that's probably why it doesn't make sense to you.
Make sure the oil injection is actually working. My old Yamaha 440SS had oil injection and one cylinder wasn't getting enough oil and she cooked the piston. *Exact reason I yanked the oil pump and mix my gas now*
Don’t run it out with the “mufly mufly” on there cuz it isn’t a muffler the muffler is the can that sits vertical, cuz it is actually an expansion chamber and without it you don’t have enough back pressure and it will run lean, run lean=boom boom
My skidoo I bought this fall has been in multiple shops trying to get fixed all winter cause I got screwed on it. It ran perfect there and it’s as clean as brand new one but as soon as got home it didn’t run
I’m a little late on this video but, did you figure out why it kept dying? My 750cc jet ski has the oil injection and it decided to start turning off on me at random times. After digging into it, I found a little hose coming from the oil tank to somewhere(can’t remember, been a few years) that had dry rotted and oil was no longer getting to where it needed to be. It was causing the engine to shut off. It would start back up after about 5-10 minutes.
First thing I thought of when I saw it , overheat , had a 2 stroke air cooled that used to do that mess . Pre mix that mess and dump that oil injection . BA sled there Clayton . Can’t wait till you get er goin again !!!!
Just had the same thing happen to me hole in the piston and all. I sprayed wd40 down in the crank and sucked it out and kept doing that to clean it out
can we get merch? a good ole black t-shirt with a picture of the f150 on the front with the word idiot underneath it in all caps (in white) and on the back a picture of clayton's face making a dumb expression and the quote under it "what in dale junior"
on these sleds, at least the triples, if the oil pump fails (not VERY RARE) they go wide open to prevent engine failure. Probably either ran it out of oil, or bought a total lemon. Although it looks crazy clean
Is there any oil in it? And that big part is the pipe it gives the motor scavenging to make it run good so don’t run it with out that take off the muffler/can/ the thing after the pipe to make it really loud.
I love the people in this comment section saying you have to mix the oil in this sled😅😅😅 it has oil injection you don't have to mix the oil in the gas, and if you eliminate the oil injection that's a good way to burn up the lower end of the motor the oil injection is how the crank gets oil.
No one ever understands that’s. Oil injection is so reliable and cheap to fix you up would have to be stupid to delete it.
@@morgenwood602 you ain't kidding, it's not like it's new technology it's been around since the 80's it's pretty much perfected at this point
