Logitech has a good non true force experience. The difference between the clubsport dd and logitech pro exists, it's a little noticeable. The cs dd is better in non true force scenarios, but like anything that is not a determinant factor when choosing a wheelbase.
Excellent review. Good you point out the good and the bad with Fanatec. Customer support is still appalling, but I hope everyone gets their orders soon.
If full force works like true force on the logitech g pro wheel then fanatec users are in for a real treat as when used correctly it does add a nice extra bit of feedback in the rim
I guess other brands would catch up. Accuforce had it initially, SimCube devs were playing with it, Asetek is preparing its software update and knowing how serious and talented they are - I guess it will be just a matter of time.
I appreciate your review, but the video was too long for me to watch in its entirety. I have a question: Does the QR2 Lite limit the torque on this wheelbase? I’m looking to upgrade from the DD GT Pro. Thank you!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This wheel is closer to a wheel in a real car which most consumers of this product will be familiar with. It's better looking than the Space Ship Formula wheels that seem to be all the rage today.
I agree, I dont like the gt wheels too. But i only play rally games so i'am only using round wheels anyways. But the wheel does look cheap and bit gamer like, I have nicer wheels on my simrig then in my real car that look great, but this wheel aint it. (mx5 2022)
I have the CS DD and currently on Xbox. Have a weird issue with ACC, the game recognizes it as a CSL DD and I have no force feedback, it steers and everything just no FFB. In Asseto Corsa it works fine lol. One other weird thing with ACC is I have to restart the console if I try ACC before I can play any other game or the FFB in other games is just super sensitive and the wheel base feels weird. Again this is on Xbox, kind of curious if anyone else has experienced this. (Note: the same thing happens with my g923 regarding ACC and having to restart after playing it.) love the wheelbase though, it is my first Direct Drive experience.

I have this wheel and bundle. I’m enjoying the wheel. I’ve gotten used to the fake leather but I wasn’t a fan tbh. The shifters feel great in my opinion. But right I really only play on ps5 cause my pc is still running a 1070 and Ryzen 5. I say that to say, the oled display on the work doesn’t work at all on gt7 and it’s so hard to find any tangible information on the matter.

Gotta see what full force does that should be a game changer. N I agree they need to make a podium version of that wheel, that u can buy seperate n has all the buttons, but better feeling, alcantara, aluminum.
I have to disagree on the ffb stuff with you, i tried the logitech g pro wheel and the true force ... it does nothing and creates unwanted noise in the ffb. With it disabled it felt so much cleaner and direct.
Can you please Install a different wheel Rim with QR2 Lite and let me know if you still get 15Nm? I would like to know why in the DD+ Description it says QR2 Lite and QR1 Lite will be limited to 8Nm Yet here they’ve Pre-Installed a QR2 Lite and it Gets 15Nm
God awful is a bit extreme pun intended. is it the best looking wheel, far from it but it is very in line with all previously released PD licensed wheels (including thrust master) and is definitely function over form with a specific design for GT7.
Im still trying to dwcide whether to go with the dd, dd+ or logitech dd, and what pedals. Main use is pc but It would be nice to have PS option if I ever get one haha… well at least there are options
Dont bother with fanatec, if you have issues with anything you are fkd. And almost all their products have issues. If you are on pc go with Asetek or Simagic, leagues above anyhting Fanatec or Logitech has. Doh the Logitech support is great. @@Daz5Daz that is wrong. The ClubSport DD Bases do have a Low Torque and a High Torque Mode! Wheels with QR2 Lite will be limited to Low Torque Mode, so 8 Nm. I’ll wait the returns of the community. And might get this csl dd+ extreme bundle next year. Even the price is high and all the bad press fanatec got. Lack of customer service, delivery problems… It will be out of stock most of this year.
What I would like to know is: as-is, without FF, does the DD+ clip less than the DD Pro 8nm or is it still really just bad FFB but stronger? DD Pro is amazing in ACC and other sims, it seems like a game problem. Maybe FF makes it better but it seems like a bandaid at most.
@@randomcallsignI guess so but GT7 seems to clip badly no matter what settings. Even Fanatec agrees in their forums. Other games clip, but not nearly as bad. It seems that the DD+ really isn't a worthy upgrade if you have a DD Pro 8nm - unless FullForce is really a magical bandaid. Will wait and see.

First youtuber to state the obvious, that this wheel looks awful 😅 I know looks are subjective but this really looks like a childs toy designed to be mounted to a pram to keep the kid occupied. It sort of made sense with the previous GT pack as it was a bit cheaper overall, but the CSDD+ is a pretty high end wheel base and would deserve a better looking wheel. The only pro of this is that it makes my Asetek round wheel look like an elegant master piece of engineering design...
Fanatec has two big problems, one is competition, there are far more other options available today that their USP’s have been drastically eroded, secondly I think the founder of the company became far too complacent, got too greedy (trying to expand too quickly without proper infrastructure in place) and is now arguably not the right person to take the company forward. In his recent interview I thought he came across as slightly arrogant.

You just added color and intent from Fanatec to deceive, to what is essentially the same what I just said. DD plus never had a supply issue. It was licensing that Sony didn't attribute and Fanatec thought it was going to be released December and never told customers it could be delayed. @@Xpl0jd1 Also, the FFB fidelity is supposed to be on par with high-end competition and the Fanatec eco-system can be a plus, if you like it or are in it already. Fanatec has a high compatibility rate with a large variety of games, too. And realistically 15nm of holding torque is more than most people will need.. Accurate FFB levels for a GT3 car, for example, are around 12nm. The higher torque outputs are only relevant if you want to use it for weird FFB challenges, a workout, or perhaps if you want to simulate old race cars.
Man, if only we would get GT on PC. That would be the greatest thing for many reasons. Especially the fact that Fanatec wouldn’t be able to pull this level of bullshit. I really wonder how their new FFB thing feels. I’m still suspicious that it’s just some vibration BS like the Logitech TrueForce stuff, which a really good Wheelbase like Simucube 2 can do already. I switched from podium DD2 to a Simucube 2 pro and the force Feedback of the Simucube is so much better! You can finally feel the limits of your car while cornering! The DD2 is good, but the SC2 Pro is just on another level and if you spend money like this always go for the Simucube!
@@randomcallsign Not taking into account future Truforce support, as you tested it, how does the DD+ compare to Simucube Sport in both strength and responsiveness (slew rate?)?
I never had a simucube for more than 15m. I cant know. But I can infer. This wheelbase is comparable to forte, and better, imo, than the laprima. It would be comparable and possibly better than the sport. When I mean better, the differences are small and you need to care about them. The usability part will depend on setups. There may be situations where simucube sport will be a better choice no questions asked. For example you want an open ecosystem. Check reviews between the sport and asetek and from that a reasonable conclusion can be made. Regardless, any wheelbase I've mentioned is too choice.

Why is every sim gear reviewer so... narrow-minded (want to avoid using a harsher word)? How can you compare a ps-compatible wheel to moza and asetek? Do you not see the huge gran turismo logo on front? Do you really think someone who wants to buy this will consider a base that is not ps-compatible?
Let me get this straight. You called narrow minded to someone that in a review talks about possibilities of use of an equipment that is being reviewed, and compares it to the natural competition that the reviewer himself has tried? Are you for real?
Is it narrow-minded to consider that a large portion of people that would buy this, will use it on PC and would see moza and asetek as possible alternatives? You are being narrow-minded by only considering the Playstation compatibility here.

Logitech has a good non true force experience. The difference between the clubsport dd and logitech pro exists, it's a little noticeable. The cs dd is better in non true force scenarios, but like anything that is not a determinant factor when choosing a wheelbase.
Fanatec Clubsport GT DD Extreme is now beiing delivered in the USA in 5 days from ordering with a weekend included for me.
Very much enhoyed the detail of your review. Thank You
Excellent review.
Accuforce had it initially, SimCube devs were playing with it, Asetek is preparing its software update and knowing how serious and talented they are - I guess it will be just a matter of time.
i dont like true force at all, for me it feels just like noise .. and not feedback. But each their own i guess.
I appreciate your review, but the video was too long for me to watch in its entirety. I have a question: Does the QR2 Lite limit the torque on this wheelbase? I’m looking to upgrade from the DD GT Pro. Thank you!
@@luiztechai yes and no.
(mx5 2022)
The DD+ base is not available in Japan….I had to buy the DD Extreme bundle to replace my CS2.5
Pretty cool! it's too bad fanatec still hasnt't sent out my gt dd pro I ordered last week in north america
It's a week bruh. I ordered stuff laat week on top of my BF DD+ order and that went out today with the DD+ two days ago. You'll get it
@@DeejayJeanP good to know.. I'll stop the panic attack😅
@@F1WestCoasthas it shipped yet? Im thinking of buying a Fanatec wheel but am worried it will take months like people have been saying
@@Schmacks yep got it last week. Took 2 weeks total. Gt Dd pro, csl pedals, esports v2. the packages didnt show up on the same day though took like 3 different days.
I would like to have that wheel. But I already have a DD1 which I really love and I not trying to buy another wheel base.
Not worth getting another one, imo.
The rim looks like a Nissan wheel I like it
Totally agree. I don’t think it’s nearly as ugly as everyone says. Maybe not the best looking wheel but I can think of at least a dozen other ones that are way worse in my opinion
Good review, really a interesting wheel base, but better wait until the games add the fullforce in the games
If you order one you'll never get it. I've been waiting months for my wheelbase. But fanatec can sure send out review units immediately this is absolutely insane I'm so pissed off
@@andrecole9502 clearly its more important for Fanatec to sell more of the product to new customers before they even get the pre-orders out to the customers that were mislead. Influencers are quite happy to get their commission too and in most if not all free wheel to keep. They are not reviewers anymore when they cannot be fully impartial and when as a paid income they rely on having such business contracts/relationships with companies to continue to get their new products.
It would be nice if you'd compare this to logitech g pro wheel :) especially when fullforce will be available :)
That's what I'm planninh
Can you please Install a different wheel Rim with QR2 Lite and let me know if you still get 15Nm? I would like to know why in the DD+ Description it says QR2 Lite and QR1 Lite will be limited to 8Nm Yet here they’ve Pre-Installed a QR2 Lite and it Gets 15Nm
Any other wheel with QR2 Lite is limited to 8 Nm.
Wtf how do all you “ RUclipsrs " already have this when I was first batch to order November 10th
Because RUclipsrs make people order/pre-order. Once they got the money, they don't care about their customers anymore.
Because this was supposed to release in December.
For ps5 use (gt7 the only game worth playing) just get a 50$ adapter/converter.
So your saying that with all other wheels using a qr2 is limited to 8nm but the the extreme wheel with qr2 lite does 15nm ????
Correct
@@Daz5Daz that is wrong. The ClubSport DD Bases do have a Low Torque and a High Torque Mode! Wheels with QR2 Lite will be limited to Low Torque Mode, so 8 Nm. This GT X wheel is the only exception where the High Torque Mode gets enabled even with the QR2 Lite. But every other wheel is 8 Nm with a QR2 Lite.
You need to make a t-shirt with that wheel Rim on it minus the GT logo that says under it "It's not ugly its JDM" I would so buy one
Great video- getting this in the RSA 🇿🇦 Is going to be very difficult and the local price is going to cost a kidney
Praying for you lol
Hopefully you have two kidneys? If so, winner!
Would have considered/bought the CS DD but 799€ is too much for 12nm.
I’ll wait the returns of the community. And might get this csl dd+ extreme bundle next year.
Even the price is high and all the bad press fanatec got. Lack of customer service, delivery problems…
It will be out of stock most of this year.
What I would like to know is: as-is, without FF, does the DD+ clip less than the DD Pro 8nm or is it still really just bad FFB but stronger? DD Pro is amazing in ACC and other sims, it seems like a game problem. Maybe FF makes it better but it seems like a bandaid at most.
theres no "as is". Clipping depends on FFB strenght vs gain.
Will wait and see.
lower GT7 "FFB strenght". I reduced mine to 2 or something. it was the way around it.
@@randomcallsign thank you. It was a great review. I think I'll skip the new wheel if I do upgrade 🫡
i still want to see a person that is able to feel the differences of slew rates :)
try F3 on iracing with high ffb
or jigsaw kerbs in acc with high and low slew rates. you'll know immediately.
another 100% working test is if your girlfriend is annoyed (=high slew rate) or not. :)
it makes quite the difference in noise levels too when everything is shaking harder
As u might see i did nothing else than F3 all of 2023 on iracing :) So will see if i can get the chance to try a new DD again and just test that... with "quick" slew rates, even thoguh i can say that simucube and asetek bases dont feel better for me than fanatec dd2 with high power.
Remember its hard for humans to feel even diff between 5ms and 10ms - if not imopssible, @@SimracingPopometer
last but not least the asetek F1 profile made by real F1 driver has the base set on the slowest slew rate setting :)
@@NesterowiczRacing real drivers are a marketing tool in simracing, they are not a good source for settings. simracing ffb has to do more than irl "ffb", because we don't feel g forces.

@@SimracingPopometer exactly , just like SlewRate. Yet funny isn't it that? That their profile is with the slowest sleeve rate "last I checked". So it's like they contradict them selves in this case. Regardless my point is ... Yes technically it's a bonus. In simracing I argue no one can feel the difference between 3 and 9 slew rate. And that befor making those numbers a defining factor one should focus on car handling, track and race craft knowledge more. Than blaming a slightly slower slew rate ;). It's marketing and it works. I work with marketing myself ;)

Any chance another QR2 Lite or the metal QR2 wouldnt unlock the 12nm on my regular clubsport DD? Buying the wheel from someone who wont be using it
it unloacks only with the DD extreme wheel. Everywhere wlese its 8.
@randomcallsign I mean I am buying this wheel, but will be using it on the 12nm clubsport. So are you meaning to say more than 8nm is only possible in the combination of this bundle?
yes. but you cant buy the wheel separetely. you need to buy the extreme bundle.

ahh ok, I'm looking for 300mm round wheel for CS hub but I can't find anything other than expensive sparco rims
Thank you!
Good news - Fanatec Shipping back to normal - received the last few orders delivered within 4 days
So why have people not got theirs stuff from Black Friday sale?
What you meant was, you got yours. Shipping is screwed for me and 2 other friends... Today marks 9 days of sitting in "have to Warehouse" . Website started 4 to 7 to ship. We ordered 16 days ago. 7 days processing and 9 in warehouse. 3 people. So no. Fanatec is still hit or miss. I recommend unless you just like risking stuff.... Looking elsewhere because after it's in warehouse it is hell to try and cancel........ It'll be weeks before resolved... Just to cancel for me.
I think getting the DD+ with the Porsche wheel and QR2 is a better deal than this
so they've released another wheel for RUclipsrs to piss off the paying customers some more?
Would it make any difference to you if it wasn't sent to youtubers and you only knew that existed because they announced it?
@@randomcallsign i'm not hating you mate, i'm hating them. they struggle to manufacture and supply the products they already have advertised for sale and have also already sold. This just proves it's not a logistical issue they are facing though.
The issue with this wheel wasn't even logistics. It was Sony licensing and Fanatec jumping the gun and never stating that it could be delayed.
Customers have recieved the cs dd plus prior to nda lifting. The extreme was released today.
@@randomcallsignthe issue here is they presold a ddplus, delayed it for over a month, mislead everyone on reason for delays, then immediately after starting to ship the ddplus, they release this bundle. You see, not all of us get our stuff for free from them. The people who preordered, now cant get the new wheel lol. See how crappy that is? Release a bundle never mentioned before and the preorder people literally get no benefit?
You just added color and intent from Fanatec to deceive, to what is essentially the same what I just said.
DD plus never had a supply issue. It was licensing that Sony didn't attribute and Fanatec thought it was going to be released December and never told customers it could be delayed. I know this because end of year December was the original time this video was supposed to be released.
No company is under obligation to disclose anything regarding new products. You don't know if the DD extreme information public release wasn't embargoed by sony.

Gran turismo's physics and variety of races are not good enough to justify the price in my opinion.
I think it looks nice. Finally Fanatec did something right 🤓
They hired A.I generator to design that wheel.
Just Kaz being Kaz
Instead of making new bundles they'd be better sending orders that people are waiting for several months already
both things can happen at the same time AND creating bundles takes almost a year
Ppl already receiving their orders.
@MrNice-zm9qk you mean won lottery ticket? I know people who ordered V2.5X after me, fanatec claimed they'll fill order on first come first server basis. Yes, I know I could cancel but I want to get this rim quite badly.
Was the video released a bit too early? lol
No, Boosted Media released a similar review today and Ron Reviewt released another video even already yesterday.
Might be, this was the first video I saw. Was in the premiere of it an noticed it was unavailable/privated 30 minutes later. An hour later from the original premiere, boosted media released the video and others followed, like Rory and Steve, this video also came back up.
In a nutshell what I meant to say was, this video went up an hour earlier than others as far as I know.

@@randomcallsign You are correct, never used consol so didnt even think of that.
Because even with the bullshit they have been pulling for months now, they are the only one in the space, and it will forever be out of stock while till way over priced.

Fanatec is wrong for not providing customer service. My wheel broke over 2 1/2 months ago they finally sent me a return shipping label a month ago and I haven’t heard from them since. I’m still suspicious that it’s just some vibration BS like the Logitech TrueForce stuff, which a really good Wheelbase like Simucube 2 can do already.
I switched from podium DD2 to a Simucube 2 pro and the force Feedback of the Simucube is so much better!

I have since moved on from trusting fanatec. They have lost me for life. Going pc only route, and Simagic and not looking back.
Fanatic just seems so untrustworthy. That’s my personal opinion. As if he really cared oboist users, he would have confronted everyone on his site waaaaay back in 2023, and not waited till he had RUclipsrs bringing him to the light…

I dont see any reason to get a fanatec setup?! I mean if you are on console, maybe... but there are workarounds. Im looking to upgrade my setup and i most likely will get Asetek. They have everyhting you need, with much better quality across all products. And it is cheaper also.. if you are not invested in fanatec and have a bunch of wheels allready... i dont see any reason for it. The best outcome: it works fine and you overpaid for lesser hardware, the worst: you have one of the million issues reported from many users and are stuck with the support for months. Lose/lose situation?!
EDIT.: And i am from Germany and would love to support a local company....
