I know Ive been to both places. In Ven everyone eats it almost 3 times a day and it's sold on every block. In Col that definitely wasn't the case. Colombia don't eat arepas for breakfast lunch and dinner. Arepas is a national dish unlike Colombia. I think most South Americans knows this. Never understood the controversy
My son is Celiac and gluten free breadstuffs are difficult and expensive to come by. Will definitely be giving these a try!! BTW, have been following your channel for a while now. Every thing you make looks so delicious. And absolutely love your energy and positivity. Cheers!
The only Arepa flour brand available to me locally is P.A.N. Works great. What's nice about Arepas, besides the fact that you can stuff them with just about anything, is that you can make them quickly when you run out of bread or buns.
Nice video ❤ you did very well! Arepas are always delicious. Next time, put some butter inside of the arepa and then cheese. You will love it. In Venezuela, we make arepas with different relleno! 😊
The first time I had these I was hooked on Colombian food. I'm on a restricted diet for now (no chilis 😢) and arepas con queso are a great snack. Can't wait until I can tolerate heat again and stuff them. (btw your link the description goes to the wrong recipe)
They look delicious. I have Bob’s Red Mill medium cornmeal but does not say masarepa. So, I was wondering if this is the right flour for this recipe. Thank you for sharing.
Interesting how many recipes I've seen have done a 1:1 ratio with their masarepa to water; when I did that, it was basically gritty and wouldn't hold together at all. I ended up throwing the whole thing into a pot on low heat to drive off some of the moisture, but it took so long it actually started to cook some
Arepas originally from Venezuela!!. Those you are doing are venezuelans. They easily can be a main dish. Colombians are different mostly like another side. But rarely stuffed.
Venezuelan arepas are the gold standard. So many different ways, and really can be a meal on its own. The only problem is Goya masarepa is bioengineered, just like the other easy to come by brands.
I was expecting to see a corn flour type cakes..(combian) As in an Arepas lol I was asking myself "have I been spelling this incorrectly all these years lol
Love arepas. The Venezuelan dish that the Colombians try and take credit for 😂
Agree100% 👍🏻

I am so happy to hear that, Mr. Tapanes. Thank you and enjoy!
Then make him something different.
I have celiac too and arepas are amazing. I love them.
I tried these from a little stand in Boston that sold them stuffed with cheese and corn and they were so good! It was a nice blend of sweet and salty.
Yum!
I love with lots of butter, and meat, avocado , pernil ,chicken salad sooo good
Yummo!
sounds good
Another great recipe. I love the basic ingredients, so much better than the processed version in the grocery store. God bless you!
You, too! Thank you!

Awesome - enjoy!
PAN is the original, real arepa flour, all others are imitation and don't come close to it.

I'm totally going to make these
I'm totally excited for you! ;-)
That cheesy arepas you bit into...a tomato onion chilli mixed would complement or even home made tabasco...nice !
Oh yes! Enjoy!
love the vids straight to the point without all theses crazy edits
Thanks. Yeah, I'm really more about the cooking because I love it, not much of an entertainer, lol.
Well done toasted buns!

Oops, thanks!!
You should try making Guo Kui very similar, it's a Chinese crispy flatbread which you can stuff whatever you want in it.
Yes! Sounds right up my alley!
es exactamento lo que nosotros (Mexicanos) llamamos gorditas, muy populares por cierto
Yum… 🤤
Enjoy!
I love Arepas. They're simple and versatile. I call them South American naans.
Enjoy the recipe!
Is the flour gluten free?
Masarepa is naturally gluten free, though be sure to check your brand label.
Large golf ball...lol love it
Thanks!
Yes please…
There you go! =)

You are very welcome!

I'll have to see if I can find that flour locally. They look similar to Salvadoran pupusas, which are delicious.
Hope you will find it! Let me know how it goes!
OK … how about a recipe video for cachapas!😊
Noted!
Never made them before. Going to try and make them. Stuff them with a spicy pulled pork.
Sounds like a great plan! Enjoy!

Is this a different name for what the Mexican call gorditas? I’ve had something very similar.
It's different, but there are similarities.
PR and DR have cheese in middle mmmmmm. 😊😊😊

I love them... Always on rotation here!
Do something with pepper x
Do they make Patty Melt? 😆
Haha!! They surely do.
Sopapilla!

A chili pepper madness video without any chili or pepper? 😮
Haha, they're the perfect vessel for all your spicy goodness!
Harina PAN, is the best and right flour for these, well, for the real arepa, which is the Venezuelan .
Move over, I’m moving in.
No offense, Patty. It’s MY TIME…
..right?.. no? oh…
😝😝😝
Nice video ❤
Thanks 🤗
