Yes please, on information regarding transcripts and computer classes! My daughter will be in 8th next year and I am already thinking about high school. Thanks! Love your videos!
I agree with the homeschooling lacking in the business courses. I know this video is a year old, but did you ever make the hands on computer skills? It is such a fantastic idea!
Yes, we absolutely would sign up to take a computers/technology course with you! My daughter is in 8th grade this coming year and yes I am very nervous. Watching videos like this helps my confidence going into it immensely!❤
Yes, please on a high school transcript video. My kiddo is in middle school-not college bound, however, I'm trying to gather as much info as possible to help prepare myself. Thank you.
Hi, Miss Heather! I totally agree on reading novels below your reading level. They are often just more pleasurable reads. Any repetition of info-in= info-more-likely-to-stick. I think I mentioned before that reading the classic, then watching an old movie of it, plus the latest version is a great way to look at social change in what producers changed in a story to appeal to audiences of different time periods (say decades). This takes the ugh out of writing with some people watching in movies and noting interesting focuses. As for the number of books in those stacks, that's more reading than any college course I took. I believe the most books for any course was 15. That's beyond the textbook. One was Humanities. The other was a junior-senior level cultural anthropology course on India. Just sayin'! But you definitely have an attack plan figured out! Looks good.
That’s a good idea about the movies and boy can it show differences in the times (era). I will have to see if there are some we can do for next year! Thanks 😊
@@homeschoolculture You're welcome. I try not to repeat myself. But my internet buffers a lot while I'm on RUclips and I never know if the comment goes through...
Just saw your video - thank you so much for putting these out there! I’d be super interested in a computer course - I have been looking for one and haven’t really found much! Thanks!
I love the idea of shormann math with getting 3 credits in 2 classes, but my son struggles in math. He is not math minded and I don't think that shormann would be good with him. He's doing shormann earth science for 8th grade and he thinks it's so boring, so I would worry that he would hate the math course.
I picked Shormann Biology for my upcoming 10th grader for the fact labs were online and he could still earn a lab credit! BJU's kit was over $400 when I looked at Physical Science last year - WHAT?!?!
My daughter is entering 7th grade. I would love more videos on high school transcripts and all high school classes, how/what, ALL THE HELP! We’re in CA, I don’t want to join a homeschool charter school for this purpose. Even less, send her to public school simply bc I’m intimidated by transcripts.
Thank you so much for the video, and I would absolutely love to see a transcript video. My son is going into 8th grade this year, so it would be super helpful!
@@homeschoolculture thank you! I love this video it makes me feel sooooo much better for my 7th grade son. You have took so much pressure off my heart.
I have absolutely been thinking about the business admin courses. I have it on my list of courses I want my daughter to take....however I have had a hard time finding what to use to teach her.
I love your channel and it is so very helpful. I have a 9th grade son next year. He has some writing challanges with his Aspergers but he is at grade level. Are there alternatives to writing papers like creating a news article, board game, or hands on projects? How do I give a grade physical Education? I was going to have my son do a certain number of hours on the rock wall and lifting weights. I just don't know how I could give him a grade for him for the transcript. Also could I break the 1 credit of PE up into a 1/2 credit in 9th and 1/2 credit in 10th? Thank you so much. 😊
I wouldn’t worry about grading PE. You can give a “P” for Pass/Fail or if he completes what you ask just give him an A. In public school coaches and PE teachers give everyone a 100 on the report card unless the student refuses to cooperate. For writing I would definitely start there. Also you can make each daily assignment a portion of the writing process so that he has completed a written paper by the end of the two or three week. I can do a video on it if you like.
@@homeschoolculture I have been searching RUclips trying to find someone who has shared a computer science or a highschool program that teaches power point, excell, wp. I have found no one.
What were your thoughts on EIW? I saw that you are using Sonlight next yr with other writing books. Were there any issues with EIW? My soon to be 9th grader (she also will be skipping 8th) hates reading but doesn't mind writing/grammar. We were thinking about EIW.
We like EIW. Most of the lessons have a video component, which I think is needed especially for the writing. Half of the curriculum is grammar and the the other half is writing. I also like that there are various types of writing that she was exposed to. I would definitely recommend it!
What curriculum do you love for your homeschool?
SOTW and I'm going to use MOH 4 this year. Some notgrass.

You could have a business about high school homeschool consultation about transcripts and college admissions and such.
The thought has crossed my mind but I haven’t had time to draw up a plan or look into it further. But I take it as a compliment, so thank you. 😊
