The thing I noticed right away was that you started to smile immediately as you started driving the Type R!
Prefer the S3 over the Type R, love the fast gear change and how it sounds. Also love the quatro system.
Me too s3 will demolish r
@@Feral2k4 Haha made RS3's back out around corners (but obviously ehhhh not quite the same on the straights). I would only ever choose an S3 over a Type R the day I decide I don't like driving any more.
@@EliteGi kids🙄
Damn bro if u like the quattro system you should try the real quattro. The quattro in the s3 is a haldex, you need one with the torsen. Its miles ahead in terms of handling feel
I got my TYPE R ,3 weeks ago, amazing!!
I would choose the Honda Type R
Fair enough! Any particular reason?
Just saw reply have ended up buying The Honda luving it .. manual all day for me makes sense..
Maybe thats what you can afford? Type R is garbage compared to a S3 Audi.
Honda TypeR for me. I know how to use indicators.
Base Camper I’m surprised as you need to go to the opticians. I wouldn’t get the Honda over the s3 even if it’s ten times faster. It’s so ugly. So you’d rather go fo the ugly fat bird that wants sex every two mins than a babe that wants it every week, lol
What if the fat bird actually gives you pleasure every two minutes and that sexy babe doesn't excites you beyond the look, sex with her is boring and that's only every week ???? LOL
sp royals beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The Audi is just a square box with 4 wheels, at least Honda has tried to design something different.
Thats kinda a bmw joke is it not? The s3 is for more mature people anyways.
A few days after my 61st birthday I got myself a Honda Type R, love it!
I have a bias towards Honda, and a dislike of Audi and BMW drivers, so that was another reason I guess, plus I've owned 4 previous Honda vehicles, cars and motorcycles. Honda has never ever let me down, not once. Not like Ford, Renault or Mazda have.
Keep up the nice videos!
In short:
When you are a great driver the Type R is a really fast and good car.
If you’re an average driver, the only way to be quick in a car is with the S3.
Extremely hard choice, i came from the older type R and was focused on getting the Audi S3 however the test drive in the audi was boring, yes it was practical and yeah definitely fast but it wasnt... fun.
I test drove the FK2 type R and loved the driving position, with everything driver focused, the drive had me smiling the whole time and was an enjoyable experience. I also like hondas trim levels, all or nothing (GT or non) where as S3 there are many levels and options that make it hard to find the exact spec you want.
Still both great cars and is like comparing apple to sony 🤷🏻♂️
I'd say the Honda will have less issues and is the better quality the Audi will be more expensive to maintain
Well I own a Type R and I have no trouble getting in and going fast. 😉
The Audi more expensive to buy, and certainly more expensive repair bills further down the track, the Type R, 15k cheaper, far more engaging, beautiful manual box, feels fantastic inside, 5 year warranty and hard to break
People be stupid as hell to buy an Audi
I love Audi’s but this one looks dull as hell. It’s also very expensive for a small car, The Type R looks amazing.
@@johnny6476 The Type R has been a bit polarizing, guess you have to drive one to appreciate it. Of course its no hard out raucous V8 but it gets the job done in spectacular fashion. My view when I bought it in 2018 it was very much the best bang for buck and probably still is.
The Type R gives emotions that the S3 can never give !!!!
😂
Type r is already classic in 10 ten years from now nowone will remember the audi .But the type r you cant forget the feeling of this car
Its the power of dreams
but in 10 years the audi drives and the honda is broken
RAGE IN GAMES wow dumbest comment of the year. Honda reliable is far beyond Audi fool.
@@boosaovang820 hahahahahaha
not really.. cause theres already close to 100k type-r out there that is sold lol
RAGE IN GAMES you don’t want to own a Audi when run out of warranty. Honda is so reliable. I owned a Honda for 20 years with no issues whatsoever. You don’t see 20 years old Audi on the road because it won’t last.
Loved the type r so much ive ordered one.... 3 weeks to go 👍
Honda all day long!
V-TEC! 💪
Honda is the definition of fun to drive
Not really cant bit audi s3 perfect look and sound very nice then any Japanese. German is best car in Uk look at the video about this guy it tel u everying
S3 look Porsche car not Honda cheap car i will got Audi s3 all the way 100% drive smart.cant compare with German technology in any way
@@irfantai3564 definitely not for me comparing modern look Honda reliable car with static look garbage quality S3
Just purchased the Type R - and it is fantastic!
Did you get this new one? If so how often do you feel you need to use R mode? E.g. merging motorways, overtaking etc
I would buy the Type R if I had the money.
Type R. You're much more involved with the car. The Audi is a great car, but like most modern things in today's world, you're not really part of it.
Yeah,it's too automatic, I'd never enjoy a car properly unless it has a manual gearbox
@@MrSunnyBhoy I've driven a manual BRZ for a while now, and while I agree it is a lot of fun to have a manual, I'm also looking for really good performance aswell. Manuals just aren't as fast as automatics anymore, and I'm looking to have a car that will throw me back in my seat, but also be really comfortable to drive in cities. The S3 does that.
Great review. I have a 2015 RS3 and a FK2 Type R. Love them both for many different reasons. Out of these 2 it would be the FK8👍👍
Thank you, and ah, nice! Wow. What a garage. How do you find the RS3? Which do you drive the most?
NewMotoring RS3 is all about that special Inline 5 Cylinder engine and soundtrack. Massively fast in all weathers and comfy too with Mag Ride in Soft. FK2 is a dry weather car. Very Raw but hugely engaging to drive. Goes around corners on rails in +R Mode. Handles the bends better than the nose heavy RS3. Hard to pick a favourite. Depends on the mood.
You Chris have theee dream garage bro
The RS3's engine sounds absolutely incredible. It'll be a sad day when Audi drops it from the line up - it sounds like half a V10! I'll repeat myself and say your garage sounds absolutely mega. The only way up is an R8 and an NSX... 😉
Nice garage! I have a 2018 RS3, and I don't feel that I need another car.
8V S3 all day long. Imagine your clients when you pull up in that honda. "Excuse me, could you please go back and ask the professional to join us!"
Honda for reliability
Honda the NEW LAMBORGHINI of The Millennials 2020’s
A honda GDI turbo engine isnt gonna be that reliable over the years
Honda tech here, and I own a 17 S3. The CTR, is only better car if you want the “look at me” or basically a really good track machine. But the Audi has better everyday drivability, fit and finish, tech, comfort.
Love my Audi S3 Stage 2 Saloon. Its a rocket and i think it looks better than the hatch.
Very good unbiased review I thought. Personally I'd have the type r, love the look of it. If I'm spending that sort of money on a car I don't want it to look the norm and blend in with everything else. Audi is very good car but would have the type r. When your Sat in it you know your in something special.
Thank you Richard! Much appreciated. The Type R looks really aren't for everyone, but it drives brilliantly.
Unbiased ?? It was only till the end of the video the Honda got any real praise .. the language he used geared more towards the Audi S3 .
Thats bcoz the s3 is a undercover beast.
Audi car 🚙 is looking 👀 like the OLDIE OLD Grandpa 👴 these days driving
You think your sitting in something special in a Honda? What did I just read 😂 you litterly just said everything backwards. Audi’s have the best interiors in the industry and I have no idea why any Honda is being compared to a German luxury sports car lol. If I’m spending big money any HONDA would be my last choice, it’s a cheap boy racer brand. Most people look at any Honda even if it is expensive as the type r and you would think it’s any regular 20 000 dollar Honda. GARBAGE
I would get the Honda solely based on the fact that it's a manual, but then the steering feel is also better. However you can not go wrong with the RS3 either .
I have a big turbo S3 and there is no effort in driving it. Drove a new Si and thought it was very enjoyable even though it was slower. I imagine the Type R to be the Si on steroids
Such a nice review. I liked the S3, went R but I do track and then the R competes head on with the RS3 let alone the S3. You're right though. The reward in the R, that engagement is delightful, but I liked the S3. I felt a bit high in the seating, I'm not sure why, the same in the RS3 actually. I get their appeal, I have a pop at the Audi range occasionally, but while they don't do emotion, they do great engineering.
You summed it up nicely. Kind words :)
Great review I had a Type R and an Audi and at the end the Honda is trully reliable and more fun to drive requires a higher driver skills
the honda requires more driver skills? Really?
i own the type r. just wondering why u would say that? Its such an easy car to drive and anyone that has one knows that!
i call LIAR
@@poolplexer People like to think they are Lewis Hamilton just because they can drive a manual.
Driven both. Will stick with Audi for sure. You can feel the power much more. In America, its highway driving is much more enjoyable
Good video and great insight into both cars. Yes both cars are completely different. I have drove both cars on a test drive at my local dealers. The Type R is like marmite you like or hate it. S3 yes 4wd as my Golf but too many vag cars on the road now. Plus the local Audi & VW Dealers are a waste of time to deal with. Where the local Honda dealerships always willing to help as are Mazda & Toyota. If I had £25-£30k to spend would buy the Type R all day long. Just be different, reliability and you get the 5 year warranty plus loads more extras including free servicing and more.
Manj Bains Well done. Completely agree.
The S3 is way more than 35k it starts at 37270k before any extra .. your looking at least 42k for the one in your video ... The type R GT comes virtually fully kitted out for 32k .. The type R is a driver focused car.. it's the underpinning, internals and Japanese heritage it's a one off. The S3 is run of the mill see loads of them around... Cost a lot .. no heritage in the S3 model and the underpinnings are used all through the VAG range of cars. The type R turns heads to .. maybe not for the right reasons with everyone but it still turns heads
I would have gotten it but it's fkin manual, I don't do manual
If you can drive you would buy the Type R, if you can't quite drive you will probably buy the S3.
Nice review man. The S3 is a sleeper and I love it for that reason. Pretty biased because I own one. It’s a great car with plenty of power. For a car that looks like a thunderbird to get taken down by a subtle subdued car makes the styling of the Honda laughable. The Honda would be a phenomenal track car and incredible fun. Who does track days all the time though?
@@layne4376 Lmao. The Type R is both slower to 60 and in a 1/4 mile. You'll have to give proof that it's faster in rolling races, I don't believe that. It's also imho one of the ugliest cars out there. Looks like it's been designed by an 8 year old.
@@layne4376 Literally haven't seen a single video of it beating the S3 on a roll. Go ahead and link a video. Why are you so fucking mad? Calm down you fucking manchild.
Type-R, the Audi is just for lazy drivers in my opinion. Never fit an auto to a hot hatch they are for comfy cruisers.
Type R,Its a drivers car.The audi is outstanding but the civic just oozes performance.P.S.its a hard choice.
Honda always
#HondaFam
Love my S3. Can't wait for my RS3!
Perfect choice mate
Love my S3 as well
Type R makes the S3 look about as interesting as a cutting board.
Hmm fall sleep or be awake with a smile😂😂😂😂 i love to drive so easy choice .. TypeR
How can you drive if you can’t see over the steering wheel?
S3 is a killer on road, n inside it makes u really comfortable
Love this channel
Thanks so much!
quattro = anytime, anywhere in the world.
Had one, unreliable, expensive aftermarket parts for useless gains. Type R is much more legendary
@@briana3695 Sorry to hear that. Mine has been very affordable and reliable. It can be expensive for parts but I shopped around. Never used aftermarket part junks, but always used either OE or OEM for replacement parts
@@7spower998 anything that breaks on a Audi is expensive. I remember replacing the turbo that went under 30k miles. Never again. You won't convince me that a Audi is more reliable then a Honda. I decided to sell the car and I have a Acura now and I am simply in love with these motors.
Honda as the Audi will break down more often
Shots fired!
To be fair, there is that legendary Honda claim that a VTEC unit has never failed.
Love my S3 for so many reasons. It feels so special every time I drive it and the B@O sound system is simply epic! Just turn the traction control off and the car even gives you oversteer. I’ve had 6 cars in the last 3 years but the S3 I have kept for 9 months and I can’t think of a reason to get rid it yet.
You're enjoying it then! Have you owned any other Audis? Or driven any other hot hatchbacks?
NewMotoring I’ve had a TT mk2 hated it and put me off Audi for a long time!
M135, M140, Z4, 330ci, Jag XJ, XFs , Audi A4 3:0tdi next possibly a cayman s but Im finding it hard to justify changing the S3
Love the channel by the way👍🏻
To summarise:
- if you are a car enthusiast wanting a drivers car buy the Honda
- if you know nothing about cars, arent interested in fun. Buy the Audi
The Audi is fun, it's just a different kind of fun. If it wasn't made clear, I loved the Audi; its performance is relentless, it's a more attractive car and it's finished to a higher standard. The Honda is just more involving.
Conclusion: John Snow will choose Audi=)
So true, audi are clitoris cars as every cunt has one. 😂
Lol.
I recommend the audi rs3 no competition crank it up to 700whp.
I took the FK8 in black. Love it
I'm just too old to be seen in something that looks like the Type R. I'd take the S3 on looks alone.
Poor old soul.
Funny, that is a nonissue for me. And I bet you are younger than I am. The world does not need more boring, detached, snoozemobiles. I actually don't mind the looks at all. Is it a work of art like the XKE, Muira, or Z8? No, but it is fun and kinetic. Why insult every well designed Japanese car with a slur? My SI is less radical than a Type R, but still has more appeal to my eyes than some conservative and uninspired sheetmetal out there these days. I can at least find it in a parking lot. Aegean blue paint helps. If all you think about is your 'dignity' and others opinions then you will miss out on a lot. Please yourself. No condemnation here, just another perspective.
nothing gives such pleasure as manual gearbox. you are the boss with full control. automatic is just making you more and more numb.
You cant really compare these due to the rs3 being the higher priced and better performance but I still rather have s3 than type r
Honda although i like the Audi styling. Because: comfort, reliability but also track performance, manual transmission to me = real car. Saving up for one as I type...
Type r ❤️
Audi comes with understeer as standard. Honda, you need to drive like a idiot to make it understeer. Even in the rain
I don't know about that... If you turn the traction control off in the Honda in the wet and get greedy with the throttle it will give you understeer. Patience is key!
Marko Mravak i think u mean oversteer my friend
Upgrade the rear sway bar in the Audi and you can get oversteer.
quattro four-wheel drift, duh. Check out how the luxury sedan A8 quattro destroyed the M3 and MB 190 in the DTM
@newmotoring why would you want to turn off the ctr's tc in the rain??
When I see shots of you driving on the left side of the road it gives me anxiety lol.
Great comparison, first video I have seen on the channel. Subbed
as a 2014 audi s3 daily/family driver I have to say that audi's power is undisputed... (previous cars : civic vti, civic 2000 typer, scooby sti 2005 which I kept for 9 years...) The audi does not turn heads but I sure enjoy it even@corners.... I just grew up no need to go banzaiii...
All German dual clutch cars are very unreliable. They and Ford have given the dual clutch technology a very bad reputation.
Audi's and all the other cars in the VW group are prone to very expensive major faults down the road. Honda are very reliable, you only take them to a garage for a service. German great engineering is a complete myth. BMW, Audi etc. dealers charge a higher hourly rate to claw back money for the manufacturers for their massive warranty repairs.Cost per unit warranty repair German Vs Japanese, for every €1 spent on a Japanese vehicle in the first year, €12 is spent on a German vehicle. Independant Data based on German (Mercedes, BMW, VW/Audi), Japanese (Honda, Toyota, Suzuki) cars upto a list price of £45,000.
kevnev007 you are very uneducated and seem to just regurgitate exaggerated claims which frankly tend to prove false
On my 2nd S3. For quality, speed and everyday all weather usability in a Saville Row suit it ticks all of the boxes. Might not be as pure as the Type R but as an everyday missile its definitely the better car. Type R is the better Sunny weekend blast about car. Only downside are the looks. It's 1 Fugly car...
I daily a 2018 type r. Perfect car for daily driving
Your fugly
Ha, ha. Audis are pretty much the blandest cars on the road. Now that IS ugly.
Agreed Audi is a whole different class and usually people that have never had an Audi comment on there reliability as per older Audi’s were quirky however 2009 and up amazing cars.
Please tell me you own a small block V8? That would be such a missed opportunity if you didn't!
Sport on.. in true hot hatch terms,.it has to be a Honda..
For me it’s the Honda, I factor in reliability as it does not seem to have any problems but my Audi TT mk3 had a coolant leak which seems to be common for the EA888 engine. It cost over six hundred pounds to fix. Also the Honda will retain its value as there are less of them on the used market.
"What would you have"? I've had both.
I had a 67 plate FK8 in Championship White then traded in for an 18 plate Ara Blue S3....in saloon form because I think it looks better than the Sportback.
Both cars are excellent with strengths and weaknesses as described. The FK8 certainly stands out from the crowd whereas the S3 is maybe a little too subtle, although everybody compliments the lovely blue colour.
The seats in the Civic are the most comfortable and supportive I have ever experienced, but the seats in the S3 while comfortable are actually quite poor for supportiveness considering the performance potential of the car.
AUDI:
More Premium feel
Better interior quality
Better SoundSystem
WAAAY better Infotaiment-System
Better Fuel Economy
Better Luminosity (headlights + rear-lights)
Better exhaust sound
Better Glass Windows
WAY better Camera
WAY better ergonometric
Feels like it has more quality
And a bit better Grip due to the Quattro System
HONDA:
FUCKING better design (audi looks the same since the last 10 years, its a pretty boring car from the outside)
Better Engine
Better Brake System
Better Suspensions
Better Gearbox
Better Handling
Better Driver Position
Bigger Trunk
WAY more Swag (if you know what i mean)
Cheaper to buy
Cheaper to Maintain
Grippier Steering wheel (mostly when it is cold)
More reliable
Bigger car = More space
Better Pedals
A quiet Beast (sometimes you cannot tell if is on or off)
At the end is like comparing a Deer with a wild horse .... Type R is just an amazing machine and is cleverer engineered, Period.
I like both, but I choose the type r. That's lovely
Type R is emotion. Clearly Honda CTR for me :-)
Nice job on the video and I think you hit the nail on the head when comparing the virtues of these two vehicles.
I drove a 2001 Audi S4 Avant for about 8 years. Unfortunately it was very unreliable, but it was an enjoyable car when it was running. The interior was luxurious, had an awesome stereo and it was great for days with the family. (I have to mention that Audi also took really good care of me when the car was in the shop and being worked on under warranty multiple times). The performance was easy to tap into with the AWD system, but heavy understeer made cornering an exercise in restraint and the six speed manual was...meh, with long throws and a fairly rubbery feel. I am sure the S3 wagon you reviewed here is a big improvement on that car, but likely a (modern) variation on that overall theme, with (much) better reliability.
Fast forward to 2019, and I am two weeks into my affair with the Civic Type R I just purchased and I LOVE IT. OK...I can guarantee it's not as refined as the Audi, I'm constantly worried about chiefing the front spoiler on a curb and the FWD system can barely contain the power in 1st and 2nd gear. BUT...what a kick in the pants to drive. The transmission (i.e. clutch and gearbox), brakes, engine, chassis, seats, steering, etc..are awesome, I think (contrary to some of the videos I've watched) that it sounds great, and I marvel and what a beast the the car is overall, as I blast through the gears and carve up corners. It's obviously still early in the relationship, but I don't think I've ever looked forward to driving a car as much as I do this one. In terms of practicality, I can throw my mountain bike in the trunk with the seats folded down and not think twice about it, which is a huge plus for me. Some folks may disparage the Type R's styling as juvenile, but I think the car looks great, gigantic / gaudy rear wing included.
With my kids now grown up, I can sacrifice a bit of refinement for some excitement, so the Honda is the right car for me now.
Anyone noticed he talked a lot of good stuff about the Audi, but when talking about the Honda, he keeps always smiling ?
Screw the premium. Honda forever!
For me it’s the s3 it’s not trying to be a hot hatch, but it leaves the Honda in its dust from a standing start, and its practicable I can get a chest of drawers in the back while leaving most hot hatches for dead from traffic lights
We entered the era where the question is and will be "would you like to drive car or would you like the car to drive itself?"
Well thats probably the last stick shift AND fwd type R. Something will change from these 2... So there you have your choice. Buy the dying breed cause you may not have any chance to buy anything like it in the future... Exactly like we new the FN2 was the last N.A. high revlimit screaming civic type R..
In English weather, the S3 is an incredible daily and the better car on the road. In my opinion, there are far better weekend cars than the Type R so I’m not quite sure why you would ever need one. I understand a lot of it is an unsaid ‘x factor’ if you will, however I’m personally too logically minded to ever buy one I think. Plus I’m not 100% sold on the front end, the rest looks good to me but I still see where it comes across as a little childish.
Type R by a mile. Based on how well my humble SI drives, the Type R is clearly the driver's car. Because stick shift. Because lightness.
A nice balanced review. I currently drive a VW Golf R and was close to buying an S3. I’m far too old to be driving something like the Type R so the S3 would be the hands down winner and my personal choice. Safe to say my next car will be an RS 3 though without any doubt.
I’ve had my S3 for two years now and it’s a beautiful car but dead boring. Don’t get me wrong it’s bloody quick you can throw it in any corner at any speed and it will find grip in any condition. It’s just not involving and your granny could drive it quickly. Need to think about my next car in the next couple of months as I’m giving it back next year.
Great comparison, i'm an Audi guy elegant but powerful, but non the less Honda has don a great job wit the Type R
Audi all day 💪💪💪
quattro any day anytime in the world
I can't help but notice you sit rather low, like the top of the steering wheel is almost eye level, is that a preference? or do the seats not go very high?
Great video man, on my 2 Favourite modern hot hatches. If I can ever afford them in the future I'll just get both ❤💣💥
I've just subscribed 😁. Good honest review. As a previous owner of a BMW M135i I should imagine it is similar to the S3. High premium feel but so easy to drive quickly. It had plenty of road presence but lacked the driver involvement of my previous ST. I think as a daily I'd go for the Audi but of looking for a weekend warrior I'd choose the Honda.
Nice review, although I can't approve comparing a FWD setup to an AWD one. I am pleased owning the Type R myself. Honda keeps things simple: there is only 1 hot hatch = the fastest one in the civic range. Done. Looks aside, I can't help thinking that if you would own an S3, you might wish to have gone for the top of the range RS3... The S3 is not 'the A3 daddy' is it? Like because of this an S3 owner would constantly try to explain / justify why he / she preferred to buy the less powerful version instead of going all out performance-wise. And yes, I am well aware that the RS3 is in a different league when it comes to engine capacity, performance and price. But still... An ST feeling whilst all you really wanted is an RS sort of thing? A diet coke with less pop? Go big or go home kinda. No offence...
I would definitely take the type R (and I'm not just saying that because I own one). That Audi won't last anywhere near as long as the Honda.
19+ years with my s4, no engine problems. My honda was an oil burning piece of rusty dung after 10.
Type R all day
Just bought the Type R. One time Nippon, every time Nippon. :D
That type r is just my dream car
S3 looks more Hot-wagon than Hot-hatch
Prettier than the Type R, though.
NewMotoring I agree that less is more sometimes but if I really have to drive something that looks dull I would rather get VW R or GTI. The thing is 15 years from now ppl would still buy this type-r for $20 G’s where as we all know that no one will even remember the S3. That’s the truth. Just like s2000
Ahmedur Ershad and the s3 will be a beautifully underpriced choice for a fun project
Civic type R looks more like a 10 year olds idea of a hot-hatch than a hot-hatch.
Honda is sexier cheaper reliable beautiful quick
S3 all the way😎👌
So your saying the Honda is more fun, more engaging, driver focused, and the Audi does everything for you.
I'll take the Type R any day of the week.
No contest, Type R gets my vote every time!
Just by watching your seating position, you can tell the type r feels like a BTTC car. With traffic these days, I'd rather feel like I'm In a proper kit, opposed to what the spec sheet says.
Audi. I like surprising others.
?
As a 70-year old gearhead, I don't want to drive something that screams "mid life crisis." That's why I have the S3 performance clone which is the Golf R. Because I'm really into performance, my Golf R is thoroughly enhanced by an APR Stage 2 tune which is good for nearly 400 HP. All go and no show (except when blasting away from a light).
@@layne4376 Tell me about your Golf R if you will.
New motoring. What do you prefer, FK2 or a fk8?
I own a FK2 and I have taken the FK8 for a test drive recently. The FK8 is quieter; more comfortable; cabin is more spacious; suffers less turbo lag and the front end is a much better, aggressive design. I decided to keep the FK2. It's raw; the suspension is back breaking; its noisier; the cabin soaks in heat. The gearbox is crisper and you can feel the LSD clawing away through the steering wheel. The exhaust note is burbly and incomparable with the whisper like FK8. The dasboard is analogue rather than the awful digital cluster in the FK8. I know I'm biased, FK2 all the way.
@@junaidahmed786 tough choices, looking to insha'Allah upgrade my fn2 next may.
@@muhammedsyed3464 You won't be disappointed. Tend to get a lot of stares and thumbs up out of respect. Obviously you get a few road warriors wanting to race but old enough to ignore them. Most of the time :)
Honestly? FK2. But that's a very personal decision - I (Seán, the guy in the video!) just love the FK2 and always will do. It just feels a bit more raw, a bit more on edge, and IMHO looks better.
The LSD in the FK2 feels more aggressive, but that's probably because the suspension in the FK8 is more sophisticated and gives the differential less work to do.
It would appear type-r owners are more enthusiastic about their cars because it seems we are the majority watching the video... that in itself should Inspire someone to want a type-r if all their owners are enthusiastic about their cars?
Little bit on the fence with the verdict, I’d take the type r all day long
Type R just for the weekend ... but S3 if you need one car for every occasion..
Can't argue with that. The Audi's design is more to my liking...
I daily a 2018
type r. Perfect for daily driving
Police should be notified because there is a 13 year old boy driving these cars.
I would choose the S3 only cause I have it and I know it's fast . and it's very fun to drive .. And it's all wheel drive .. And all the people saying they would choose the Honda all day is because they can't afford the audi . the Honda will cost about the same if it breaks down its about how you take care of your car ..
TypeR is better than rs3 in any track. Poor other hatchs 😉
JDM all life 🔰
Well in ssummary....
If you know nothing about cars then go for the Audi and follow the other bunch of mindless people who buy German thinking it's the best.
If you are a "car guy/girl" or "car enthusiast" and like to be able to actually drive a car and not have everything done for you then the type R is the one!
Personally I'd never buy anything that's not japanese. Type R is hands down the best hatch back on the road in my opinion. It's better on track, better on tight twisty roads, better driving experience and all round a perfect car for almost any use!
This is also coming from someone who has owned both so unbiased opinion really. Since driving a Type R
I'll never go back!!!
yeah buy the ugly ass Honda. i drive stick and still prefer the audi to the bullshit type R
I had a few Honda’s back when I was in my 20’s, very reliable but you look to your right or left and there’s another type r or Honda. I own an Audi s3 and you know what I don’t want to have to work hard to drive s car. I like the badge and the prestige of owning and Audi. Plus I could 3 stage it and blow the doors off of any Honda and that ugly ass spoiler.
@@sandromirella7647 yeah and i bet you have no where near the ammount of fun the guy next to you owns. The honda brand is general is like marmite you either love driving raw and fun cars or you buy an audi where you have the comfort and the easyness of everything being done for you. Honda has kept the fun in driving where as audi, bmw, ford or pretty much any other manufacturer has took to fun out of driving.
@@sandromirella7647 it's not about how quick you can get to 60 mph its about how much fun you can have doing it. And i could turbo build an old ep3 and absolutely destroy a new rs3 and that's a 16 year old car....
@@Sitothagod good for you.... have you ever owned a honda unless you have then their is no point in you replying....
I love the civic to death... but a AWD is a requirement for Canadian winter...
If you’re a man-child, go with a Honda. If you’re a working, professional adult, who dates real woman and do not want to look like a teenager, buy the Audi.
Carlos Sanchez how about if you own the Audi, dating real woman and these woman want to be teenagers?
lol
As much as I disagree with the premises in your statement, that was pretty funny.
Not a Friend of an audi but any hot hatch with heated seats is Better...
I'm a professional and I date real women and I own the type R and they love the car every time I pick them up. The Audi looks like Grandma's grocery getter.
Love the covered in super glue and ram raided Halfords look of the Type R.....just don your shell suit and off you go!!.....so, it's the S3 for me.
Civic for me ,any day.
Which one to pick is depending on your personal taste, even when I was younger I always preferred the German’s Golf Gti than the Ford Rs or Xr3i because the German are more understated and the overall build quality are mile better,if you knock on both the car’s body you’ll realise how flimsy the Japanese car are,but if you like flashy and brassy things this Honda car next to none,it look like a toy car with pump up steroid appearance even though it is a very competent car.To me I’ll be embarrassing to sit and driving it for the appearance alone, frankly it is not a Ferrari or Lamborghini,it just over do it with them cosmetic kits. But that’s my opinion surely some young ones will love it.
Pak Yan Lam Japanese engineering is always better and more reliable than German, don’t be stupid.
