I'm not sure if it's worth noting, it could be a mistake but *all* signals on the planet are marked Thargoid, including the Guardian ruins. I'm sure however after the server tick- if it IS a mistake, it will be corrected at that point. I still can't help but feel that there's more to this little nudge, so I'll still be in the area poking about looking for signs of anything. Guardians are coming back! Plot twist: Thargoids and Guardians were besties, the wreckage and data is from occasional small fights they had. Thargoids are kidnapping humans to download Guardian minds into them, later Thargoids and Guardians united are going to cuz troubles for us xD
If it drops one of each blueprint for Guardian Tech, that would allow players to find that stuff more easily. If it's a site where the layout is like a "race-track" (Similar to where we get the weapon blueprints), that would be amazing. The other Guardian hull tech was much harder to obtain because the layout was a "T" formation and had way more Guardian Drones to handle. Overall, I like what I am hearing. I will take a field-trip as soon as I can. Thanks CMDR Buur!
Can you imagine how awesome it would be if the Constructs (guardian AI's) were still out there, and maybe hostile towards both Humans *and* Thargoids. And what if there was a secret Guardian colony out there that the Construsts missed...?
i defo think the guardian site is a ship just under the surface, plus, those door like things must open and i suspect there is an underground warren waiting to be explored
Hold on… at 1:23, what’s that glowing caustic thingy on the center-right? And at 3:04, in that thing etched into the ground it looks as if there is an entrance somewhere…
Isn't it a shame, that we find remnants of Thargoids but we are not capable of opening the flowers to see how they look like? I have no issue to explore and because of "a rule of the pilots federation to not poison an ELW" I'm prohibited to land on them. BUT ... not to cut open one of the blossoms? Come on!

The Legacy version is now just a museum, demonstrating the status quo before Odyssey. There won't be any further updates for it. *Which means, this new area is something important.*
You are too hopefull to think the Permit will be lifted if it is like other thargoid stuff that permit lock will stay there and story will halt. I hope they do something, but if I have to be honest, instead of playing the game I want to get a book about and just read it from there. Content will be behind ridiculus amount of grind for me to care about it. Soooo, I'll just wait for the video. Edit: I am pesimistic about permit being lifted. And if it is, welcome to grind fest.
I get why the COL 121 sector is permit locked for possible future Thargoid stuff but what about all the other permit locked regions. They can't all be for future content, the game won't last that long if all we get now is Thargoid content. Numbers in game are dropping, open these regions before the game dies completely.
Cool, sure wish us console folks could have kept enjoying the game ON NEW GEN CONSOLES. It honestly breaks my heart watching Elite dangerous videos now. I log into the game, into my old faction which is a shell of its former self, and made it a complete loss now. I just want to personally thank Frontier development for killing off pilot Syndicate 4 and one of the best factions in the game. 🖕
Fdev dropped consoles to focus on the future of elite, yet the future is seemingly more and more slim and thargoid only. Kinda like how they dropped their streams, “quality over quantity”. Except we got both the same quality and less quantity. They’re slowly killing elite

BGS and PP (which was what I enjoyed in the game) broken because of the war... do you still play or did you go to another "second job" game?
F. (Press F to pay respects) I bought a "next-gen" console just to be able to play Odyssey 60fps (before they announced console drop of course) I understand you. I was a BGS focused player. This galaxy split (legacy/live) broke all the BGS balance between the player factions that was achieved after years of gameplay and diplomacy. (if Odyssey BGS didn't broke it all at the time... now the split + thargoid war did.) From a certain point of view that is excusable pointing that the human race (players) are about to be oblitarated from the galaxy... and then they need to join forces in the war... but what about the roleplay and bgs? what about the citizens where my faction rules and must ensure their safety and prosperity? What about plantations that end up with plague and need agronomic treatment? what about people starving or being attacked by pirates? all I'm saying is that in more than 5 years the evolved the game, allowing you to be whatever you want... pirate, transport trader, trader, spy, police, miner, humanitarian assistance ... and now, nothing more matters in the game... because whatever you decide to do, you alone can't do anything in BGS algorythims...
bgs split was one of the best decisions. If I cannot interact with console players I don't want to see their influence of my systems, or influence of my actions on their systems.

I may have bought a second account when the game was dirt cheep on sale so I can do bubble stuff on one account and do deep exploration on the other

Been there now. Same same so far. FDev missed an opportunity to add additional on-foot content to guardian sites.

The whole COL 121 sector is permit locked and has been for some time. Not just the system referenced.
It's not just that one system that's locked... it's the entire Col 121 sector. Plus HD 64611
