    About the Bandonion or Bandoneón:
The Bandonion is perhaps best known for Astor Piazzolla's work.
Heinrich Band invented the instrument (Bandoneón in Spanish) in Germany around 1850. It is a portable aerophone with buttons that is played with both hands simultaneously. Moving the bellow causes metal reeds inside the instrument to produce sound. Its expressive range and colorful timbre-sweet on the left and slightly sharp on the right-allow it to be used in a wide range of musical styles.
The instrument was brought to Argentina by emigrants around 1870, where it was incorporated into the developing Tango music genre and is still primarily used in today.
According to Argentine writer and music critic Diego Fischerman: "The Bandoneón was invented to accompany the mass as a substitute for the organ in tiny Lutheran churches that lacked this instrument. However, in the Rio de la Plata region, it became the signature and sound of a bastardized music, nearly coming from the brothel, which was the tango."

"When I heard the music of Astor Piazzolla in the 90s, living in Germany, I did not suspect that this experience could change my destiny. I traveled to Buenos Aires to study bandoneon. And now it's more than 15 years I have been living here and my bandoneon and the tango tango still share my way."
