Rain can't reach us is one my favourite pieces of music i've worked on. Its like a dirty hymn...rough & roiling at the bottom, celestial strings & arps up at the top. It feels like it spins right in the middle of those two energies, in the exact middle between Tony & I with the yaw spinning around us. If you could pinpoint the place where our energies all meet it would be here...if creativity had co-ordinates. @kit_montieth worked so hard on this video too, pulling all nighters & getting chased out of stations. He individually manipulated every frame of the AI stop motion of which there are 25 per second! He also drove us to Dungeness & we had seafood in the desert. God bless friendship & creativity. Here is the song that I can say that I consider as the main one of my interest during this year! Brilliant instrumentation! Fantastic lyrics! Splendid sensitivity of a sumptuous voice! "Rain Can't Reach Us" is a sensational song by Yannis and the Yaw! Especially, the collaboration with Tony Allen makes it impactful! This is a wonderful masterpiece brought willingly to all of us!
This song is something... So bright and yet melacncholic, so spiritual. That was why I fell in love with Yannis' music. And the drums are the energy in every way. The magic happened there with Tony Allen. Can't wait to listen to full EP when it comes out. And the video? Man... Kit Moneith once again made something special. So well done Yannis & The Yaw team. I've just watched the whole series The bridge (Bron/Broen), no doubts absolutelly criminal masterpiece from Scandinavia. But the main theme Hollow talk is transcendental song, and it reminds me a lot of Rain can't reach, especially the specific atmosphere and delightful work of instruments
Absalutey every tone and rhythm goes through me I find the whole of the song meaningful for me just ticks all the boxes for me and kinda flash backs from 80s so cool love it im nearly a pensioner and dancing in the train station 😎👌🤛
