well, on particular level gravity isn't actually as strong as the other forces that keep atoms & co together (English is not my first language so I don't remember the names) so the particles themselves will stay together. as a schizophrenic, the specific dates thing was something i used to do. i would get stuff projected to me by, like, super aliens or whatever, and sometimes they'd give a date. not often, but it was always really far in the future. i had this awesome delusion at the time where i could predict the future, and sometimes when the date was close enough it would really happen, which solidified it for me. i thought i was really cool because i'd get my little projected thought and then the next day it'd come true. i told multiple people about this and none of them believed me, obviously, but it didn't matter because they were just lame. unfortunately, many years later, i discovered it was psychosis and i was not, in fact, magic

(yeah.) the divergent people were basically people who had been cured of the genetic engineering and could leave quarantine. I think at the end tris sacrifices herself to free everyone(?) and its a big thing on how selflessness and bravery are really the same virtue or smth. in the epilogue her hunky boyfriend moves on to dating her friend. to expand on my burger analogy, the premise and romance plot were. dubious. but the writing, setting, characterization, and themes were actually pretty interesting. it's kinda a controversial take now but I actually really enjoyed them at the time lol. the romance was cringey, but I liked how beatrice's trauma and guilt were explored. the commentary on how institutions will use values and philosophies they don't even believe in themselves to keep people in line hit home and was well done for the genre, imho
the superpower in divergent is actually that she has more than one personality trait like a normal person. cause almost everyone got genetically modified to be fucked up and have only one personality trait and they have experiments going on trying to breed more normal people. basing society around the personality types and making it illegal to be normal somehow helps idk how i didnt actually finish the last book

@@astrocake584 iirc in the second one they're on the run from the erudites/dauntless and they take shelter with amity, where there's some weird mind control shit going down. in the third one they leave the city altogether and discover it was all a failed experiment kept in quarantine; people had been genetically engineered to exemplify certain virtues as a way to try and like, 'fix' humanity and stop wars. (yeah.) the divergent people were basically people who had been cured of the genetic engineering and could leave quarantine. I think at the end tris sacrifices herself to free everyone(?) and its a big thing on how selflessness and bravery are really the same virtue or smth. in the epilogue her hunky boyfriend moves on to dating her friend.
to expand on my burger analogy, the premise and romance plot were. dubious. but the writing, setting, characterization, and themes were actually pretty interesting.
it's kinda a controversial take now but I actually really enjoyed them at the time lol. the romance was cringey, but I liked how beatrice's trauma and guilt were explored. the commentary on how institutions will use values and philosophies they don't even believe in themselves to keep people in line hit home and was well done for the genre, imho
