Man Louis has been really in his bob ross phase of repairs and I am loving it
Bruh this is spot fucking on👌🏽
100% facts
Yes please keep them coming
I think you mean...
Bob Rosmann.
Happy little fans
When he's not speculating NYC real estate, or being a vigilante- he executes the most grounded, respectable, and entertaining repair videos online. I respect your respect for the work you do.
NYC real-estate projections, crime fighting, mac repairs - Is louis actually budget batman?

Bob Ross teaching art as to Louis teaching repair... love it🥰
Bob Rossman. xD
I can see him in a 'fro & beard for some reason
Lol, I started the video and almost instantly started to think about about Bob Ross :D. Louis is channeling him well :).
@@Dthamilaye omg yes, Rossmann's voice is soothing to the ear
Hey Louis. Sometimes i wonder:
what you say about everyday life and decisionmaking is absolutely smart.
I feel like you have overcome some kind of struggle whatsoever successfully. Not like real estate stuff or bills or such. but real dark moments in life which you recovered from. this makes the channel so much more valuable
The darkest ones I've yet to share, because I'm still in them. Someday, when they're far enough in the rear view to laugh at, I will toss them on.
@@rossmanngroup Whatever you are going through right now, know that you owe nothing to your subscribers and that we are only here to support and uplift you.
@@rossmanngroup Are you sure the darkest ones were not those rats in your appartment before you got Mr Clinton?
@@rossmanngroup I dont know if its any comfort but 10 years ago I was disabled in an accident. Then I lost the only girl I ever really loved and she ruined all my friendships somehow. I had one friend left but he died a few month later from cancer. Completely poor, cribled and alone suddently. My whole life and everything I worked for was gone. But today I'm truly happy and nothing can ever bum me out again because I've been there before. Not a bad situation at all. Life is not about me, it's about making other people happy, and you do that with these videos. I have no idea what bothers you but don't forget to apply your brilliant life advices to your own life.
@@rossmanngroup Personally I struggle with ME, not knowing what you deal with I can only wish you all the best! I really appreciate what you are doing for all of us in regards to right to repair. I also appreciate your RUclips content; love this video :)
Louis. Having your videos on in the background is always a good time.
Biking, giving your point of view, threatening to fire your employees
A good time is had by all
Well holy shit that like was 100% unexpected
I just want to let you know this Louis, I'm 29, have a Bachelors in M.E., met some random guy who's name I never got working in a Menards hardware store. Long story short, I almost cried when he encouraged me to "Get out of your head and into your heart."
Now I'm working towards an associate in EET to hopefully transfer into a bachelors. Just had a soldering lab last week, and the only reason I had any confidence in my ability to pick it up is because, I'm trying to have more confidence in my own abilities (that's another story), AND I have your videos on in the background, listening to your advice, watching as you use the "PROPER" amount of flux.
Even in ways you don't mean to, you make a difference man, just by being so vocal, and being who you are.
Stay safe and healthy out there man.
“We don’t employ liars here at Rossmann group. We send them home.” Had me rolling there Louis!!!!! Can’t believe you said that with a straight face!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I have not listened through a full advertisement on RUclips in ages... Until today. It's genuinely refreshing, sadly, to hear an honest advert. No hidden lies, no hidden costs, just straight up "these bits are free, info here, and for this we have a paid option, you're welcome to try either/or".
If I used an Apple product I'd purposefully botch a repair just so I can get more into this ecosystem of knowledge. Alas, I'm on the sideline. But enjoy the content all the same.
Louis, thank you. And you and your team keep up the amazing work.
"Let the Macbook repair be an extension of what you are..."
That's deep.
Your voice is more relaxing than Bob Ross. I love seeing you in your element.
The alcohol evaporating with the lights reflecting look like stars in other dimensions in space closing up, like worm holes closing up.
Louis I'm not saying I don't enjoy hearing Bob Rossman, but I am saying I genuinely enjoy your brash-ness and brutal honesty
He should start a Bob Rossmann ASMR channel and leave the rants on this one.
Bob rossmann is a good title name
Reminds me of happy trees for technicians.
HAPP(Y)BUS
I must've been loving under a rock. I never knew how detailed and extensive Louis's repair guides/classes/videos were until now.
Exquisite blend of tech, knowledge, asmr, humor, and philosophy in golf announcer voice
Agree immensely.
Looking at this old video Louis just shows how much healthier you are now in Texas over Newyork...
I remember seeing your eyes in your old videos and wonder how much longer you would live..
Louis, you have my the knowledge to make people smile. My sister in law spilled beer on her MacBook. Battery did not charge. I bought a new daughter board and it works.
My co-worker spilled coffee on theirs making the keys sticky. Fixing that tomorrow.
You are the "Bob Ross" of computer repair. Listening to you puts me in a Zen state.
1:38 "I dream about breaking into [their] apartment stealing their cat."
So that would make you a... cat burglar? :D
caturger
It's kind of ironic that somebody that doesn't like macs has become the mac whisperer. I found your channel a few years ago when attempting to repair my 2013 MBPr and you had a video that walked me through the process, which was crucial because taking apart all the pieces, glue, and tiny connectors was sketch AF. Years later I am still using the 2013 macbook as my daily driver and it still runs great. Much appreciated!
You have to gaze into the mac darkness, only then will the mac gaze back at you with its secrets
Glad to see you in your element. And +1 on seeing the quality of your work as an extension of who you are.
i like how you explain things slowly in each video keeping in mind that some viewers are new and may not know jargon or basic stuff. thank you Louis
I've FINALLY seen the fan spin after the entire battery depleted and it started going... even though my nearest apple fixer told me it'd be an ENTIRE board replacement to get it fixed. DEPLETE your battery at first first, even if it's a 2013 MB Pro. Then charge it and see what electricity does for it. The keyboard stopped working but I was able to use an external keyboard and it works just FINE. Be the king of your own MacBook like Lois said.
Loved all the free/paid info at the end, I get tons of Mac repairs in and anything motherboard I outsource, would love to learn enough even to just do the basic repairs like this! Watch this space!
This is all Greek to me, but I like listening to your voice, looking at the pretty circuitry, & adoring your kitties.
This is unexpectedly a calming video while learning at the same time.
Louis, I've realized why I watch your vlogs more than the repair videos: I put your videos on while doing other stuff, and I can only enjoy repair vids if I sit down and watch them... I have to dedicate time to them. It sucks since I fell in love with your vids (and went into EE due to them).
But this videos helps :P also when you're really descriptive helps.
How amazing that a friend dropped me off a non-working macbook air last week and this video pops on my feed. Did what you recommended and it's booting again! Thanks Louis you saved another macbook from the trash heap!
man your voice makes me focus so much , just let you talk in the background and just keep grinding , thanks Lou:)
Please keep doing this!! Hilariously brilliant.
Please make all your videos like this. I could watch this for hours
I'm going to sue you for removing the glass on the ground. That glass belongs to nyc and you just took it without asking
You sound like union seeing someone solve a problem for himself. "You're taking food out if my kids' mouths!"
@@combcomclrlsr Your kids can eat some glass shards once i win this lawsuit
Wow this Arc is really heating up
bro thanks for the relaxing way of fixing a laptop.
Louis is literally Bob Ross but with repairs instead
Thank you for your videos and for your hard work for right to repair.
Thank you louis
The meta of philosophy and presentation of repair .
Is a phenomenal display of nutrition.
I can't believe how many free resources you offer. That's insane! I'd imagine these came out of creating how-to's for employees and on-the-job training?
Louis is like the Bob Ross of repairs in how he describes things.
Hey Louis you should check out the Steam Deck teardown video by none other than Valve themselves
I'm so respectful of macbooks that I haven't even touched one in about a decade lol pretty sure watching your videos was one of main reasons actually. I was looking for a laptop a long time back at least 2x computers back and you convinced me not to spend extra getting one. I would love it if you'd recommend a few actually as it's seems like unless you are doing a lot of gaming/video editing/graphics ect ect there's no reason you couldn't make a fairly high spec laptop last a for a decade if it's easy to repair.
Thanks again
i love you for what you and your employees do keep it up as a 22 year old i help alot of elderly and older people i work with alot of phone and pc issues and dont charge only what parts cost i have like 6 hours a day of free time and id rather help and try to educate then try to make money and alot of them come back to me with friends issues or other tech issues they have but its to the point where i cant keep up with them
This was some top notch narration. Many thanks for sharing your time.
years ago I once tore a flex cable by accident when I opened my laptop for cleaning
having no access to replacement parts or specialized tools on hand, and a pressing need for working computer
I took a box cutter and I cut off the damaged head then scraped off the plastic to expose more of the conductor underneath
put it back together and that fix it, still works to this day
I'm so glad this channel exists.
I am diggin' the mixture of vids. I apprecieate your work.. you're a good person. TY
I'm happy to see you back on the bench sir
Louis can you react to Steam Deck repair guide that steam posted?
It's very right to repair friendly and deserves some love ( on Valve RUclips channel )
I love it too Louis Rossmann. Thank you.
Great video. Also... there are a lot of very professional people who take extreme care in their craftsmanship within pretty much all of the trades. Plumbers, machinists, electricians, etc. Imo a majority (at least that I have worked with) are this way. When I fix something I don't just want it to be as good as new, but to be unlikely to ever fail in the same way it failed the first time. I'm a tool and die maker, and like with all the trades, you live and die (well get rich or go broke) by the quality of your work.
I was at an Apple Store and overheard a genius recommend your place for repair. I really wanted that guy as my genius.
I'm here at 6.9k views... Nice 😁
Keep it up Louis, producing what I love 🤗🥳
All the comparisons to Bob Ross is a compliment, Louis. This was an interesting and relaxing video.
The thumbnail title “doing what I love” is perfectly accurate. Louis is a happy man when he gets to work on his favorite, easy to repair apple products 😌
Louis, you should also think about taking up a side gig of doing voice for commercials. You would be great
I like this "work shall set you free" Louis arc, but I get this eerie feeling for some reason that Louis's fan does not spin as it once used to.
I genuinely hope you're doing well. I've been on-again/off-again watching your videos for a while now. First time I came across your videos in 2013, you were yelling with firey passion about Apple products built with braindead engineering.
How time flies...
Whoa, slow down there Bob Rossmann.
Even though I do not have the tools to do board level repairs, I will still read though the beginners guide. Couldn't hurt to learn a few things :)
This voice is so dreamy and peaceful
If you ever need to know what the definition of perfection is, just look at Louis's outro here.
personally I get more pleasure hearing the chime first, then maybe fanspin.... however as always, I learned something and thanks for the post
Louis in the Bob Ross Rossmann of electronics.
I am loving it
Would love to see a reaction of the steam deck teardown as it's pro right to repair
Dude you are the greatest. I love you man.
Thanks man
Your point about the world becoming a place where nobody cares to do things properly anymore is something I've been feeling for a while. I think it has a lot to do with our society and economic system not rewarding people for their effort, combined with a pervasive cynicism about the future. It hangs over everything these days. It's hard not to be affected by it.
Don't normally comment but you are amazing - friend gave me their macbook air as broken junk - took it apart cleaned the trackpad cable and voila - working macbook :)
“you are the king of your own little world” sounds like a Bob Ross parody that's not an insult that man was genius imagine people listen to you much the same reason you make a lot of sense and it's not just about repairing boards “ mastery is a pursued interest”- Bob Ross
I'm working on two older MacBook pros, from 2008 and 2010, and it is amazing how the computer evolved year to year. Those old machines are quite usable with some upgraded ram and ssd
Kenneth, I have just spiffed up a little my mid-2007 MacBook pro, but sink me if I can find any way to install an OS later than the Snow Leopard disk I have. Been days at it. Apple now makes installers available, but not a one will work for me.
@@leehaelters6182 did you try el capitan?
@@kenneth.topp., thanks for reply. Yes. El Capitan was the last update I was running when I swapped out the HD. Still have that drive squirrelled away. New SSD takes all the disks and updates that I have up to Snow Leopard, but the install files I have downloaded, including and up to El Capitan, just will not install. I have encountered and then read confirmation about a known difficulty with a command line install from Snow Leopard, and so I tried my installs from all the versions I have up to and including plain Leopard, but nada. I don't remember how I got El Capitan on there previously, years ago.
Have you done your installs yet?
I'm happy when Louis (appears?) happy.
@Louis_Rossman, You were mentioned on the Daily Show! Congrats!
Big fan of the fan spin.
Good stuff man!
Hey Louis, you should talk about valve's new video on opening up the steam deck
Board repairs are awesome
I do always learn something
You sound like Jerry Rig Everything on this one!!! Thank you Louis :)

Wow 🙏🙏god bless you ♥️
I don't know how you can work on a computer that dirty. Driving me crazy just watching you.
Louis you gotta scope the tear down of the Steam Deck by Valve.
Louis, I am a big fan, and I spin.
How the fuck am I finding this relaxing 😂
So much more satisfying than sweeping broken car glass off the street! :)
Every time I see corrosion on any cables I don't bother cleaning it just chuck it away, not expensive just replace it & check the trackpad connector for damaged or corrosion give that a clean. Replacing the trackpad connector is more of a challenge thou :) Did you know just about 90% of any brand laptop that doesn't power up is usually damage to the power connector, the one component that's get's plenty of wear & tear or abuse due the frequency of use.
I actually picked up a MacBook Air exact model, it’s the mid 2013 11” one

Hey, Louis, can we get an opinion from you on how Valve has willingly handed out information about the Steam Deck? Do you think that they've done enough with their recent teardown video with explanations about how to take it apart, as well as pitfalls? They actually seem to be going as far as to offer a source for purchasing replacement parts, including thumbsticks, but stop short of a full BOM. I wonder if we could get one if we asked reeeeeeeallllly nicely. It would be pretty neat if we really could ask a supplier to sell us a niche part without being told to hit the bricks because the main buyer didn't want them sold to us mere mortals (main thought would be the battery after a few years).
Louis channeling Bob Ross. 😁
I do not understand why connectors are corroded. I thought that all connections these days were gold to gold. No? And while you clean or replace the cable, would not that corrosion be on the female connector, as well? Must be more difficult to deal with that area, yes?
Thanks for all your sharing, Louis. Yer a beacon.
Edit: After thinking about it some, I am supposing that corrosion is coming from the copper metal layer under the gold plating, somehow.
