This is amazing. Why hasn't this received more views?! This is pure Grammy award winning material!
Because it's country. It is pretty good but country music is limited to a small minority in North America.
This song is a break up song, but Courtney Marie Andrews adds such depth and puts such a new twist on it all. Quirky, insightful lyrics that go well beyond the usual....
My favourite Courtney Marie song and she is also brilliant live - well worth seeing!
"How Quickly Your Heart Mends"
Empty promises and a broken heart
Hiding in the bathroom of this bar
Crossing out your name in my mind
I'll cross out yours, now that you've crossed out mine
I can't believe I got all made up
Put on this dress that you love
Only for you to go and pretend
Like all those years meant nothing
So go on and forget
Act like we've never met
Leave with your new friends
How quickly your heart mends
The jukebox is playin' a sad country song
For all the ugly Americans
Now I feel like one of them
Dancin' alone and broken by the freedom
Now, I'm all dolled up for any drunken fool
Who thinks he can replace you
Lucky I haven't lost my self-respect
Despite all you've done and all that you've said
So go on and forget
Act like we've never met
Leave with your new friends
How quickly your heart mends
How quickly your heart mends
How quickly your heart mends
Go on and forget
Act like we've never met
Leave with your new friends
How quickly your heart mends
How quickly your heart mends
How quickly your heart mends
Was lucky to see her live this year.. unbelievable, paints pictures with words, even better live than her superb album releases.
Think Dylan, Michell, Simon, she is right up there, not a cheap rhyming lyric in sight (awesome)
'What a freshness' a great voice back by a superb group.
Wonderful story teller with a lovely voice !!!
I love this girl. She was fantastic on Jools Holland too.
She is love.
Broken by the freedom (wow)
Her voice reminds me of Iris DeMent.
