The best singer songwriter we have left in the UK. This man has led a revolution with the mod era, and hes still going strong and hes 60. An unbelievable Artist, Weller is the MODFATHER.👍🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤
How can one man write such BEAUTIFUL songs.I have tried for nearly 50 years and I can’t get close to Our Paul.God Bless You Sir,you are the measure of everything that anyone wants to be ❤xx
That’s what separates the geniuses from us normal people. Guys like Weller & McCartney even Dave Grohl & Noel G etc just to name a few other’s (not in the same league though)seem to be able to churn out so many songs that it seems effortless. When u actually see how many songs Weller has written over the years it’s absolutely incredible. To a smaller extent Noel & Dave Grohl just as another example of the last 30 years who just seem to be able to make so much music that you don’t even know some of the stuff they’ve done as their output is so impressive. ✌️👍✌️
Makes me sad that I missed so much of me saucepans growing up. This song helps me reconnect with them spiritually. Lovely words...White Horses are taking me home to my special place.
I am loving this. First listen and he's done it again - written a song that speaks TO me and OF me! There's always a minimum of one song on any PW album that can get me teary eyed. This is THAT one it seems and I've not even listened to the whole record yet. It's funny but when PW and I were but nippers, He wrote songs that would often determine my mood and attitude when I listened and I dressed to go out. Half the time going 'out' meant walking to a particular spot on the estate where I grew up-wards in North London and would meet up with like minded or like aged kids of my age and just 'hang about innit' and my attitude would either get me a snog off one of the gurls or get me a smack (or two) off one of the older lads for being too cheeky/lairy/young/little or on a good night, I might get all of the above lol. But it seemed it would all stem from whatever Jam song I stuck on the record player. Now though, I can remember and I can yearn for the loss of my youth, the loss of friends and family and, to a degree, a loss of me OR I can celebrate all that WAS and all that still is. Just from a song and a voice. But what a song and what a voice! Thank fuck I chose Paul Weller and not Shakin' Stevens 😂 Nor Gary Glitter 🤤 Bloody heck, reverie makes for flipping LONG comments. I apologise to anyone reading this and looking for a point to my ramblings because I don't think there IS one or maybe that IS the point? I dunno: Nostalgia isn't what it used to be 😉 Be kind. Especially to this old fart chatting hsit 😎
Carry on Martin, we are all of a certain age now, and those were the best years of our lives!!!!!! Met a girl I fell in love with and 50 years later, still together, I was the lucy one 😃
How true. I've followed him since about '82 here in America and the man is incredible. 3 great bodies of work that are entirely different Jam,Style Council, Solo.
“Why be the bully now in my dreams? Whenever life falls on me Let's play the way we were, my love If there's another life to sow You're still my little girl And my special boy Today we hope to sing Where does the willow Learn to grow? Gift all the treasures You befall Hey, let it go In love's special hold To dream is to Let us see through it all White horses are taking me home Our love is too faithful to lose Our baby, our baby is growing Time flies and it's lonely alone Hey, you little bird With your special call Know we leave Everything to you My father told me how to be Give all the treasures left away White horses are taking me home Aw, wild as the wind that does blow White horses are taking me home Time flies and it's lonely alone White horses are taking me home Don't lay at night Don't lay at night alone White horses are taking me home Wild as the wind that does blow” ❤️

Seems almost more like 2 separate songs than verse - chorus - verse chorus to me? The chorus bit is way more involving, fun, and enjoyable than the verse which has taken some time to grow on me, but the chorus takes off and flies, (a lot more so on the live concert version that the BBC showed a few months ago. it's fantastic. Very uplifting. Rocks out with style.

His voice is nowhere near good enough to sing songs like this. It worked as the angry young man in the Jam but he just sounds very amateurish when attempting to be a crooner. He’s a wonderful songwriter though!

Such an amazing songwriter, very new to him but I’m loving this. I can just imagine my dad listening to this. He would’ve loved it❤️
The coolest bloke in the history of music. Full stop.
What a majestic tune this is. True standout on True Meanings!
Amazing chorus.... White horses are taking me home....
The English Gov'nor keeps delivering in his unmistakable style. A sheer joy to listen to a master of composition.
So sentimental ! Paul is a great British composer, songwriter and singer, with a long story in the music scene !!
So hauntingly beautiful. ❤️🙏🕊

This is not "White Horses". Where are Trixie's Big Red Motorbike when we need them?
