Lady Stephanie and Talmberg Quarry - Secrets, Hidden Options, and How to Roleplay | Did You Know?

  • Expanding Henry's trading network will eventually lead him to Talmberg, hopefully after sufficient time has passed that he's not overly suspected for the loss of Lady Stephanie's jewels.
    There he'll find that the lady is looking for him. It seems to be for another purpose fortunately and Henry will be rewarded for your labours.
    It also offers you the opportunity to repay your debt of gratitude to Sir Divish and make up for putting Sir Robard in danger by running away to Skalitz by helping the Talmberg Quarry in their trouble with the monastery.
    "Kingdom Come:Deliverance" contains many hidden dialogue and secret options that you won't run into if you treat it as a straightforward game where you only follow quest directives. It pays to talk to everyone, pay attention fo passing conversations, and treat the world as a real entity rather than a collection of quests.
    Be sure to take your time and pay attention!

    What's a "let's roleplay"? A roleplay is an attempt to play the game from the character's perspective. Games often have limitations in how they can portray the world and how they allow players to interact with them. Doing a roleplay means taking actions in line with what that character would know, taking the world and story seriously, and interact with the world in ways that are consistent with it even if the game systems can't enforce that.

    I've been trying to get clues for Leshek being in the mill, but there's indeed none. I even tried to track his movement, but it seems he simply teleports into the mill the moment you show the skull to the gravedigger.
    Another minor disappointment was that there's no way to arrest Zmola. (Never managed the intimidation check, though, so no idea what that does.) Once I even carried him to the monastery prison cell unconscious (nobody cared about me carrying his body), but the quest objective about killing him never goes away. He ended up being a monk for a while, wandering around in the monastery :D Then he escaped to the edge of the map and got stuck there permanently. I'm still supposed to kill him. The game registers him "escaped" only if he does his scripted fleeing after getting busted.

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  3 года назад +9

      Unfortunately the end of the quest seems a little incomplete. I'm guessing that there were meant to be more clues leading to Leshek but didn't get put in before release.
      But as for Zmola I think that it may have been intended that you can't arrest him because he doesn't surrender at all. Guessing that that would've required too much work to account for the questioning and the scandal. It also would've been something that the monastery would've wanted covered up so Zmola probably would've ended up dead under "mysterious" circumstances if he was taken prisoner.

    • @permahenry
      @permahenry 3 года назад +7

      Well, maybe Zmola is really better off living on the edge of the Rattay woods, then :D Nowadays I usually just let him do that and leave the quest unfinished. In one of my games, I looted all his valuables (including his sword and noble pants) and then escorted him through half the map, fought ambushes together and stuff. With a little luck, he's a real beast when it comes to beating bandits unarmed, knocking them down repeatedly; probly would make a decent video material.

    Unfortunately, you cannot follow Zmola to Leshek. If you don't report to the scaffolding, Zmola stays in bed all night, while Leshek sits in his room until about 1:30, at which point he winks out of existence right before Henry's eyes. Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed by this quest.
    I guess you really do have to just randomly stumble across Leshek. I suppose Zmola's story implies he's still in the area, if he wants to report to the scaffolding for a meeting in the evening of the same day he disappears. And there aren't that many buildings near the monastery to poke through... though Henry starting his search in Sasau town makes at least as much sense, IMO.

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  3 года назад +5

      Yeah, Zmola won't physically walk to Leshek unfortunately. I'm guessing that it wasn't fully implemented. So you either know of Leshek or you don't, but you achieve the same goal of having a witness if you take the guy dropping rocks at the scaffold to the monks.

    • @davidmeyer-lindenberg7618
      @davidmeyer-lindenberg7618 2 года назад +2

      @@SequentialGamer_KCD Fun fact, though: If you have the rock-dropper arrested, then book it to the mill ahead of the guards, knock Zmola out, and wait for him to wake up, you can have a unique little conversation with Zmola where Henry taunts him for the assassination attempt gone awry. Then you get to choose between the same three dialogue options as at 13:24 in the video, all of which lead to a fight (even if you pass the Intimidation check).

    3:00 it is very curious because in spanish when someone says "he/she has put horns to his/her couple" it means that he/she has been unfaithful. And for some reason the people who are learning spanish find this expression hard to understand. Indeed it comes from middle ages; when the fiefdom lord put a horn in a peasent's door it meant that he was having sex with the woman of the house. If her husband saw the horn he knew that he mustn't get in, and if he heard something he knew that he wasnt able to complain.

    I agree that the estate is in a sorry state of affairs and both Divish and Lady Stephanie would benefit from having an heir, but I can't help thinking of what a pickle it would be if it was Henry's. Would Divish flay Henry alive and chase Radzig with a warhammer for clearly instilling such a value? Or would he turn the other way, secretly happy that it is his friend's heir.
    Or is it just "The Lord's Privilege" that Stephanie is invoking, gender be damned, she has a right to anyone she pleases.

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  10 дней назад

      You can't confirm either way, but IMHO Divish knows about the affair and secretly approved of it. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense that Stephanie gives you the cold shoulder after that and Divish doesn't come for revenge, even though everybody in the province seems to know what you did.

      @@SequentialGamer_KCD Regular Poison works better. You know how NPCs go into a deep sleep after you beat them in a fistfight, to regen their Health, and it's really tough to wake or interact with them except by shooting an arrow next to their head? Poison in a pot sends each NPC who eats from it straight to his bedroll and into that kind of sleep. Then you can clean up the camp at your leisure, or even just knock everyone out and strip them of valuables. Bane tends to result in a big mess, because the camp goes into panic mode as soon as the first NPC to have eaten from the pot drops dead.

      There is usually at least one guy still awake. And since they included dogs, I always get caught at night. Fighting in the dark is not really pleasant as well, even if I take the potion that brightens everything up.
      What I try to do is get them one by one. Shooting / slaying the dog/s has priority since they are faster and very annoying. Then I run away and hide until they are getting back to sleep. When I get the guard that sits by the cooking pot, I can continue and silence the sleeping ones, too with the knive.
      I know there is a perk you can choose, so the dogs arent barking at you anymore, but I am not there yet.

    Funnily enough, I stumbled upon this video while replaying and on my second playthrough.
    So check this out:
    When you originally ask the Overseer about the last shipment he comments that he thought it was strange the last one was several little pieces instead of one large one.
    Yada, Yada, you know the rest. Quarry man says, "not at all!" But here's something suprising: when you comment about the stone being different than the Talmberg stone, AFTER talking to the quarry master, he let's loose a slip oh the old tongue and says, "wait, you implying someone switched THE block with other rock?"
    Now, we hadn't even mentioned anywhere that the quarry master told us he personally delivered one huge block!
    The overseer is totally in on it with Zmola, and my hunch, is that it goes all the way to greedy bastard custodian! I mean, it totally fits his type. Take a bribe, anything to make coin off the church, and getting cheaper stone would make HIM m9ney if he neglected to tell the church about the change in price.
    The fact that the Overseer is in on it says that he's corrupt too! It makes sense with everything else going on! The custodian is happy to let the refugees in because he has a crush on Johanna. He purposely refuges to help the refugees, and forbade the others from doing the same, knowing that Johanna will despair over slowly watching all her friends die, and eventually give in to his advances, all "such is my lot. Woe is life."
    He's an evil genius, and we'll never prove it, so his lackey Zmola will just take the fall and die a greedy bastard, and such is life. In those times anyway.

    • @SequentialGamer_KCD
      @SequentialGamer_KCD  2 года назад +2

      That's an interesting theory. I agree that the Custodian is definitely not interested in helping the refugees. And the overseer is probably corrupt, in a later quest the overseer's hand gets blackmailed and he's one of the few who might have access to the information needed to do that.
      So it's possible to speculate that their both in on the stone theft scheme. The guards would've been the stone being moved and the workers were the ones who moved it, so there's room to suspect that they're both in on it.

    • @waynejacobs5092

      CHRISTian values - as the name suggests - are predominantly derived from Jesus Christ’s teaching in the NEW Testament… But even the Old Testament specifically prohibits “Murder” - a prohibition that is clearly listed as one of the Ten Commandments.
      Of course, there’s nothing to stop anyone from realistically role playing Henry as an enlightened convert to Islam (perhaps having discovered the rival teachings of the Quran after learning to read...) That way, he’d be free to run around the map slaughtering everyone he comes across (especially any NPC who has the effrontery to greet him with the words, “Jesus Christ be praised”) while shouting “Allahu Akbar!” - thereby demonstrating beyond all doubt, that Henry has become a devout follower of the curiously described “Religion of Peace.” 🤔
