PS5 4K Won't Work with Vizio TV Fix

This is how to make PS5 work in 4K, with a Vizio TV. When I connected my PS5 to my Vizio TV, 4K was not an option for the PS5. I use a Vizio V405-G9 TV and was able to make PS5 work in 4K, by performing these steps. These same or similar steps may work for your TV too! Please note that for my Vizio TV model, not all HDMI inputs were the same. For the Vizio TV that I have, I had to use HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 (HDMI 3 would not allow the PS5 to function in 4K, regardless of the settings). Holy cannoli. I recently had to reset my Vizio and I guess I completely forgot I had to do this. I was getting very frustrated as to why my PS5 was only doing 1080. Thank you!!
Not a problem at all! This was a pesky PS5 nuisance to troubleshoot and resolve. Turns out the problem was on the Vizio end. Early during troubleshooting, I was thinking that it was on the PS5’s end :)
@@IrixGuy same! I had a Chromecast plugged in and it did 4k just fine so I was thinking my PS5 updated or something and removed the capability.
Actually fixed the problem, way to go man straight to the chase, pure business 👍

I told vizio the steps to fix this and also the force discover the devices connected on each powerup but i dont think their engineers understand. Also 4k is one thing but im not sure if you are getting 4k with 120hz. On vizio you have to use the same settings that you already have stated and then go to game presets in the ps5 menu and select performance mode. That will enable 4k at 120 hz as long as your tv has a 120hz panel
Yes, they seemed clueless! I’ve found that different HDMI ports behave differently. I have several Vizio TVs and on one for example, I have to use a certain HDMI port to get HDR for my PS5.

That’s crazy I had this same issue but it’s running Warzone 2.0 @ 4K UHD but at 47/59/60hz it’s appears to only want to run 120fps with 1440p but with my Series X attached it runs everything sufficiently well. I am running the P85QX-J01.
@@cambvann you may have some settings on your tv or the ps5 that are fighting against each other. Some tech dont work well together. And it doesnt help that the engineers from these companies are so arrogant that they refuse to listen to or cooperate with consumers.

Have you ever had the issue where it'll show a black screen when you boot up the PS5? I occasionally have this issue and only rebooting the TV will fix it
I have not. Do you have the latest Vizio firmware installed and are you using the HDMI 1 port?
I have this issue quite often as well, I’m using hdmi 1, all my firmware is up to date.. I just set the resolution to 2160 instead of automatic, we’ll see if that fixes it.

My Vizio 7 series doesn’t even have an input settings option under menu settings. My PS4 Pro had zero issues with running HDR 4K but then get a PS5 and I’m stuck on 1080p. Guess I’ll keep trying something. Frustrating, this TV is barely even a year old and worked fine on old gen but now wants to be annoying with the 5
Try a different HDMI port. Some Vizio HDMI ports are different than others. Best of luck! #Vizio #PS5
I’m using the right port and I have this issue as well.
Followed all the steps you showed and still get this crazy high pitch sound and weird colors on screen after a few min.
Never had a problem with ps4 pro and hdr. Frustrating.

I just bought this system and I can't play on Vizio. It keeps going normal to uhd and flickering in all black.
Have you tried connecting it to another TV to see if the problem follows the Vizio or follows the PS5?
@@IrixGuy it doesn't follow with the problem. I found like you were talking about the uhd. It was already on. If someone has this problem where the screen keeps flickering, they have to select that option off, wait a few seconds and select back on. Then it works.

I found a fix boys you need to go into picture setting and reboot the actual Vizio tv and it should work I tried rebooting my Xbox series X and wasn’t getting anywhere but as soon I rebooted the actual tv it was picking up the 4k setting
I still think that on most Vizio TVs that a specific HDMI port has to be used for HDR though. My understanding is that all Vizio HDMI ports are not the same specs.

Do you ever get sound lag when playing? On my Vizio sometimes the sound will be a bit behind and I can seem to fix it
I have not but I'm pretty sure that there may be an adjustment for that. I know that the Amazon FireStick 4K for example has a menu to synch lips with audio.
My PS4 did that at times and flickered

@@IrixGuy update no im using my ps5 hdmi but I just fixed it my settings for game mode were all messed up because I let my brother play fortnite and he decided to play with my tv 😂

Happens to me if put it in safe mode to change it to 1080p it then works but flickers in and out of signal.
Have you tried a fiber optic HDMI cable?
@IrixGuy's Adventure Channel Thanks for your suggestion as of now all I had was the original hdmi, and that used to work little by little I began having issues first the occasional input black out/ no signal till now where the tv has to have Uhd off and ps5 settings have to have HDR turned off to run 4k images.

Possibly but I've only done it on the Vizio V Series TVs that I own.
For me it doesn’t show full uhd color so i don’t know what’s going on and my tv dosnt support hdr. if i buy a 2.1 hdmi cable will it work?
@@Izadyxo I'm not familiar with your TV but for HDMI cables, let me suggest "fiber optic HDMI cable." I switched to ones of those and maybe it's just in my head but I'm convinced that the video and audio are both better.
