- Hello, everyone, and welcome to my channel! This is a drum cover of the Immortal drum/guitar anthem song from 1980, AC/DC's amazing album- Back In Black. (I know, it's already been done extremely well a thousand times, but I couldn't help myself, we play it all the time in my lessons so It's actually kind of an instructional video). I have found It is best to learn the song in sections and put them all together when they have been memorized, this cover was actually done from memory although the sheet music is readily available and is used in my class. Such a fun song to do- I hope you enjoy my jam-along! Luv, Kev.
Equipment: A very nice Stock Roland TD-27 kit, TAMA Iron Cobra double bass pedals, and a dw9000 hi-hat. I also use a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface with both line enhancements on. Drums sounds are all Roland patches with any needed EQ, compression, set configuration, and reverb effects added prior to recording. Recordings are done by my iPhone mini or iMac. Studio Headphones are Sony MDR 7506, but I sometimes use JBLs as well. Sticks are usually either PROMARK Rebound 5A (.565) Select Balance, Sound Percussion 5A's, On-Stage Maple 2B wood tips and Maple 5B nylon tips, and of course, my beautiful custom 2B sticks made by my very creative and talented wife. @@KSR0960 Thank you! I've always loved the drums and found myself listening for them in songs. Figured, why not try learning! It's no longer a hobby but an addiction lol. I will definitely check out your new video series once you post them. I'm always looking for beginner/ 101 drum lessons on RUclips. Great advice too, keep it simple and fun. (I def do) Also, love your kit. It sounds great (& I am sure your skills have a lot to do w/ that) To start, I just got an Alesis Nitro Mesh but already upgraded the snare w/ a Roland PDX-100 10" on a stand and added another crash cymbal. If I keep at it and get "good" will upgrade my kit in a year. I see you have the Roland TD-27 with DW9000 hi hat stand...anything else I should plan to get? I look forward to your "how to play" series videos. Thank you again for sharing your skills..I couldn't keep watching your videos and not let you know they are appreciated!

AC/DC is the Motorhead of hard rock. Simple, effective melodies, fantastic riffs, pounding drum grooves and full-throttle vocals. The groove and guitar melody are the key factors driving this song, and you nailed that greasy, grinding groove. Nailed it. Spot-on great, dude.

Nice. I just started learning a couple months ago. I haven't tried playing a song yet but I think this will be my first. It looks fairly straightforward. May I ask why you have a setup like that? You're ride is way up there and at a huge angle. I don't think I've seen that before but again I am new to this.

Hi Kevin really good effects. Can you tell me how to record electric drums. what are your connections and cable used.
I am straight out of the Roland master L and R into a focus rite Scarlett 2i2. I use quick time player to record. Cords are just 1/4 in inst cables. Set your input volume high to start and do all the eq before recording 😌

Hello Kevin how did you avoid a copyright strike. I can't get around it ?
you have to apply for a copyright exemption, using the fair use / educational video permissions. They have to give you an answer in 48 hrs, or let it go. The song's sound is no longer the same after adding an overdubbed drum track, and it is also a substitute for the original because it shows how the song is to be played, among other things. Best of luck, my friend!

@@HunterRocks247 yes, there are also a few suggestions in RUclips Studio I believe about challenging the copyright restrictions. Facebook has shut down my videos from time to time too lol 😆

Hey Kev…you should do a few videos with just the drums…title them for guitar practice or some such….I would stream them…I’ve been playing for a while and I’m ready for some such….there’s plenty jam tracks etc but I haven’t seen any drum tracks from songs…I realise you can download stuff like this from websites…but I’m talking about just streaming from you tube…

@@KSR0960 great stuff….I look forward to trying them….maybe in the future I can send you some songs I like playing and if you pick some that you like from the list then statistically that’s a good start…if I like them and so do you then chances are……then you could encourage others to do the same…start a small community….I would stream, comment and share etc to reward you’re efforts and if others did the same then you would be up and running……I’ve just subscribed…cheers
