Dispersion Effect: Photoshop Tutorial

- In this Photoshop Tutorial, I will teach you how to create a dispersion effect. This effect has become very popular. It looks fairly complicated, but it's actually quite simple. I believe the hardest part was finding the perfect free brush set for the effect. Which I have provided below. A few things we'll be doing is creating the effect using brushes and masks. We'll also be using a broken glass texture. I will then add a nice gradient for the image, then for the final step, I will sharpen the image and effect to make it stand out much more. I was able to follow the tutorial as best as I could. I realise that I have to practise and eventually I will get it and I am grateful for the tutorial. However, it would have been helpful to have the tutorial narrated along with the captions. The focusing was much having to read, look at the results of each step and make sure I don't make a mistake in the process.

Hello!I just found out your tutorial and i find it very amazing! however there seems to be a problem when i use the explosion brushes. All the effects keep turning the shapes of black inks all over the place. which brush tool did u use?

hey i stucked at adding dispersion(after using dispersing brush) to man it wont brush any dispersion
Try changing your foreground and background color to either black or white. Also make sure the mask is selected.

At 5:10 after I select dispersion mask and change the foreground color to white nothing happens when I use the brush... what should I do?

Sorry for answering late... You need to select the Dispersion effect layer and then click the right picture (mask)

lower the brush size
brush is not working :( , my foreground color is black but nothing happens
Make sure you select the right layer.
make sure ur opacity is at 100 when trying to use the brush

if u still have the problem, make sure you are selecting the background layer
Make sure your layer is not a smart object, but a pixel layer.
