I think what he said about low self-esteem and just wanting to be someone else is probably pretty spot on tbh
Because when you’re insecure it does not mean you’re insecure about every part of yourself, you can be confident that you’re smart,nice, funny etc but be really insecure about the way you look. So you feel like if you remove your look from the equation, people will get to know you because of what they see and then love you for who you are.
The short way to say that is that these people need therapy
