I started vitamin c, hyaluronic acid & retinal serums last year & my skin is so silky smooth. I have NEVER had “good skin.” I’ve always had acne, and bad acne at that. But now I’m 37 & my skin is so glowy, clear & beautiful
Love how you say natural beauty!! We often forget how naturally beautiful we are. All your advice is great!! The little things we need to do that make a bigger difference
I recall learning to not expose Vit C to sunlight at all. Idk how just covering it with sunscreen would help. I think applying it at night is easier then just use your moisturizer and sunscreen during the day. Not 100% sure but it's the same for retinol too- pm only. I have to confirm this for myself.
There's a cream that Neutrogena makes and I use it twice a day. Also Jergens all purpose face cream is an excellent one to use cause u can wear it overnight.
The last one is so true. I was FOMO of many skincare trends many years ago because of beauty influencers on instagram. That made me waste my money on many products and ended up had many acnes and irritation. I simplify my skincare routine- cleanser, toner, retinol, and moisturizer. For every day use are sunscreen and hydrating spray. My skin has improved ever since. Only have acnes when I'm on PMS. It also saves me from being broke, too 😂
Same, I use some essences or serums still, but one of each at most before moisturizing, a year ago I was able to use way more and my skin was drier and had acne. The simpler, the better.
He is right, I use a vitamin c serum and my skin glows from the inside out . When I reduce or I don’t eat sugar it’s a total game changer too (but I struggle with addiction/hormonally/ and emotionally eating sweets)
My skin is the best since doing not as much... I just wash it with very gentle products and then use jojobaoil and then I'm good to go 😊 For my skin less is more 👍🏻

I heard skin gets sensitivity by using retinol.. so sunscreen is a must to protect from sun radiations. So it got me wondering, should I really use serums if I'm going to disrupt the skin (the protective function of skin)?

retinol is also not for everyone, but can be very beneficial for folks even in their late 20s! make sure to always wear sunscreen after using retinol products as it can make your skin very sensitive to UV light.
Tip for retinol and Vitamin C users as well: do not go out in direct sunlight without sunblock of 35+, it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Nobody should be going out in direct sunlight without sunblock anyways. Always wear it.

The retinol at night is a game changer. I got a night cream at a drugstore a while ago, because my hydrating one got lost on a trip. 2-3 nights later, immediately im seeing some changes, the redness and pimples that i had for months, started to clear up, wtf! It was just a hydrating cream. So i read the label and bam, retinyl palmitate, also known as vitamin A. That helps with the appearance of wrinkles, and can help with some mild acne. Btw im 23, so i wasn't seeking retinol on my routine, my main focus is hydration, this was a nice surprise.
May I reccomend getting Pixie brand vitamin C serum, and Ponds retinol face serum. They're both amazing... they absorb quickly, dont leave a film, work well under make-up, and are farrrr less expensive than other brands.
