Honestly, this is one of the purest runs of Fallout 1 I've seen. It feels like most people would just give up when they reach a problem and check a guide which tells them what to do next (I know I did many times when I played this game over a decade ago) but you somehow persevere and figure things out which is very impressive and organic. If you do play Fallout 2 make sure to check the settings and put combat to the fastest since it seemed like it was very slow in your playthrough.

I appreciate you saying that! It was my intention to be entirely blind apart from what little I knew about the game already (which was very little), and I had to intentionally not read all of the comments as some people were trying to tell me the best way to proceed, but I didn't want that. I'm also glad it came through that way because there were some spots that I was really stuck on that got cut out during editing. As an example, it must've taken me like 40 minutes before even thinking of blowing up the computer in the military base because I kept running around trying to find some self destruct sequence or something. I'll certainly keep the combat speed in mind when I start recording Fallout 2!

Yes, i second that. Combat to max. speed makes a big difference.

@@NateHabibi You could also start with reading game manuals which were provided with both(Fallout and Fallout 2) games. (You can find PDF variants in internet.)
By the way, the amount of crashes you had is abnormal. I mean original games used to crash sometimes back then, but that happened fairly rare and usually only in certain places. Maybe you should check some guides on how to play(which hd patches and additional fixes to use) original fallout games nowadays...
Oh... And you could try not to rush your decisions about what/how to do so much and choose stats and other things better. These games were made so you could complete them in almost any case (if you're alive of course), even when you kill most NPCs and play with 1 int (which also reduces the skill point gain)... And it feels like playing with 1 int, luck, cha and "fast shot" trait you're missing an important part of the game. Walkthroughs with 1 int or all stats 1 were usually considered as a "joke", like... what you'd play after completing the game few times normally.
Well... At least read the manuals please... and don't rush so-o much.

I sometimes did it wearing combat armor, because at some point, I didn't like how power armor looked. Wasn't really much harder. Of course that was nowhere near my first playthrough.

I haven’t watched gameplay videos for a hot while, nonetheless an entire series. Granted, it’s only 5 videos, but it was entertaining watching someone do a blind playthrough of this game, especially after I’ve beat it myself at least 2 or 3 times already.
Pro Tip: Don’t go low intelligence for Fallout 2.
The map is MUCH bigger with MANY more locations, and you’ll be wandering without directions for the majority of a low intelligence run, like you experienced here. Though, low intelligence did increase the fun of watching this so if you want to take on the challenge, go ahead.

I went to my Grandmother's funeral this morning, she had been cremated, so that was... kind of killing me. But my Grandfather was cremated, too, when I was little. That happened over two decades ago. When I was in that church today, it felt like the end of something, not only a life - but the end of a story. I cried enough for at least three people, I'm sure of it, haha... but I'm grateful that I stomached everything long enough to just be there. I missed her a lot. I don't know why I couldn't get back to her.
I feel like I've been letting everyone close to me down for so long. I was there with my oldest brother and my youngest sister - I would do anything for them. My little sister completely changed, though, you know... from the last time I got to see her. That was in 2013, December, Christmas Eve (morning). I left her a gift and I felt it was necessary to leave. So I did so silently when no one noticed and I felt like I was dying when I left, but my father, he was abusive then and I guess he never really changed.
I just hoped to reconcile with everyone and I couldn't... but I'm happy anyway, because I told the rest of everyone I hadn't been able to see, that I loved them and missed them - and that it was good to see them again. Even though, now that I'm gone again, it feels like it was the last time I would. I'm not really the angry kid I used to be, just sitting quietly in the corner at the back of the room, I've learned to let a lot of things go better. I've been trying to eat healthier...
I'm trying not to drink anymore energy drinks in a race to work for breakfast, then barely eating a granola bar for lunch, and a slice of bread with peanut butter for dinner... because I want to be a better person, for my siblings, at least. I don't want them to be alone if the day comes again where I do get to see them - assuming they want to see me. So I'm trying to live. But anyway... it's been... a year. Nate, truly, man - I hope you're doing well. I hope everyone is here. Life is fucking painful some times.
Side note, I'm happy that I get to watch this video now, I'm just sitting at the bus station while waiting for a ride. I took off to get away from my father again, and I don't regret that, but I deeply miss my siblings. I hope they don't hold anything against me. ...thank you for sharing this with us, Nate, for us to watch when we can. It's very comforting to see **something** there, at the end of the day, even if no one is around to spend time with.

Hey, Nathan; I haven't seen your comments in a little while, and I'm sorry I didn't get to respond to this one; I didn't mean to miss it, but sometimes comments get lost in the notifications and in the system. I don't know if you'll get any sort of notification to me replying or anything (I know everyone has different notification settings), but if you do, and if you can, and if you're feeling up to it, let me know how you're doing. My condolences, my friend, and I'll keep you in my prayers

That was a fucking amazing video. Great job Nate and Warlord Joe, gotta say that ending was pretty damn fitting for the Joester even with the bleak endings for the other factions it still kicked ass
This is how I interpret it: Warlord Joe may have War in his name but he ain’t for everyone else’s war, he’s fighting for his own. And god help you if you happen to be in his path (or call him dumb). That part with the overseer was definitely gangster, Warlord Joe may not be bright but betrayal is definitely not the smartest move to pull on him. I could just picture it that after shooting down the overseer, Warlord Joe finally speaks an (almost) coherent sentence saying “You no need me, then they no need you”

I love how incautious you are. if this was a livestream it'd be infuriating but you can cut out all the dead space caused by murdering the wrong people and getting lost and it results in a funny compilation. one thing you can change next time is having an unequipped slot so you don't have to put away your weapon every time you interact with something. OG fallout is clunky like that.
23:40 it's hilarious that they knew some players would be too stupid to figure out the hidden bookcase entrance so if you fuck up enough a guy just opens it for you.

For future runs man: don't forget you can do so many things. You have that red button on the right called skills, sooo... embrace it. Imagine what you cold do and try it. Like pickpocketing and so on. For ex if you see something scientific use science on it (if your character is not dumb af)
By the way just basics: you can use brute force and slam the door with a hammer or use a crowbar (crowbar for lockers aswell). You can unload weapons for extra spare ammo. If anyone sais put that damn gun away, clear one hand and have gun in the other, just show them bare hand
This ain't cheating since in the old times thats how we got new info, consider me a friend telling you some things :)
