@@@agrid2608 I am seeing a lot of misconception here. It is true that pension or provident funds globally are a source of investment revenue, so is the case in Zambia, particularly, Lusaka. The misconception here is that, it is wrong to think that all mall investments in Lusaka are done with financial resources from South Africa. If you were to do your research properly, you would find that most of them are Zambian owned & built with resources from Zambia not South Africa. Levy Mall is owned by NAPSA - Zambian, Central Arcades housing Society house now Hilton hotel, is owned by Building Society & NAPSA - Zambian, Long Arcers mall is owned by Zambian Pensions Board, Arcades shopping mall is owned by Mr Mark O'Donnell, a Zambian, the owner of Protea chain of hotels in Zambia, Airport mall owned by National Airports of Zambia, etc
@@kenmuye2581 The word ALL was never used. the only misconception is yours. The expansion of SA retail businesses and commercial property development (particularly those linked to SA government deals and the PIC) has been a driver of the mall expansion craze over the last two decades in Africa. The locals of course continue to play their part.
@@@agrid2608 at least you have learnt that not all that gritters in Zambia is backed by South African investment. Starting or igniting something does not mean that you should now attribute everything that happens in that regard to whoever started it, a BIG NO to such egocentrism. England invented alot of technological machines during the industrial revolution such as motor vehicles, trains, telephone, paved roads (tarmac) etc, of which other countries in the world including South Africa benefitted from & adopted as theirs but the English do not make noise about it. Zambia sacrificed alot in material form, financial, human life - being killed by the Boers & infrastructure being destroyed by the hostile Boer Government; infact, Zambia hosted even ANC offices & all senior officials here such as Oliver Thambo, Thabo Mbeki, Jacob Zuma, almost all of them except Nelson Mandela who was in jail. Zambia sacrificed all that to see to it that South Africa becomes independent & integrate with the rest of Africa economically & not to have offshoots of boosting mentality that leads to Xenophobia - killing fellow Africans who helped you!!! So clear that negative mindset & misconception from your mind. As Zambians we do not talk a lot about our sacrifices for your freedom; why, it is immaterial to us. Now when you South Africans make a small investment in Zambia, they start making noise. By the way, who benefits more from such investments? It is the investor. Then why should you stand on top of the anthill & make noise for everyone. China infact has done a lot for the Zambians but they do not make noise. When South African Boers blocked Zambia from using their seaports in South Africa, China agreed to build a railway line for Zambia & Tanzania ( TAZARA) for a stretch of almost 2000KM from Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia to Dar es Saalam in Tanzania for almost nothing. China has given Zambia grants amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars without making noise. China has built a general hospital in Zambia for free, Levy Mwanawasa. China is building almost all the infrastructure in Zambia & modernising our country, it's loans, yes, we shall pay back. The Chinese are literally doing every for us, name it, stadia, roads, airports, shopping malls as well, opening new mines, creating multi-facility economic zones, cement plants, tile manufacturing plants, trading, motor vehicle assembly plants. @@evansanto-darkwah1590 Hardly true. The middle class is 70% black. I have not been to Zambia before, looks like good country, one day I will hopefully visit. I am South African. I was suprised at how the branding of banks shops etc is just so South African brands....but good for Zambian and SA people. I hope they will then build schools and hospitals as was explained. Critical institutions such as schools and health infrastructure are v important for progress...as Africans we need to now start investing our money and not just saving for huge spending , build infrastructure. create more value and be less on spending in shopping malls.
Not all belongs to south african. A zambian firm called napsa has belt more malls in the country and its using south african contractors to build them. Most malls are purely zambian, but south african and zambians are renting the shops.

It's a weird form of erasure of millions of black people to pretend that they are white simply because the equivalent middle class standard don't exist in your native Ghana. (where the meaning of middle class is drastically lowered)
Also almost all whites in SA being well-off is not the same as all the well-off being white.
After all you are talking about 8%. The top 30% of income earners can hardly come from them.
Wow nice!!!!! My Country! Good observation, Most hospital's in Lusaka are being upgraded so we are still getting there!!!
My boy keeps doing his things. Accept greetings from BobyCool. May my God protect you in all that your are helping Africa for.
I miss u . man
That's what the Ghanaian city of Kumasi needs....more shopping malls to stop people from selling on the streets
Thumbs up !! Great video . Thanks for posting !
Africa is beautiful and the world tries to hide it from us who don’t live on the continent. Keep these videos coming.
Like what you do👍
Maya you representing Africa our homeland very well
Yea... Zambia is very beautiful ..... AM very proud of it......u have to show us also it's infrastructure designs......it's ur boy Smith from solwezi Zambia
Big up African Government for building infrastructure, the people need these things that create Jobs. Teresa Chillz lots of love for coming out. Thank you Wode Maya for traveling to southern Africa.
I can see almost all south African businesses here, very interesting. Shout out from south Africa...
The xenophobic fools don't get it...the continent is your economy...idiots
@@nyembsafric1 What do you mean?
@@nyembsafric1 not just the continent, world as large
Richard mashamaite you are welcome my brothers I was once in SA and people welcomed me too
Wow Zambia looks like a babe south Africa 🇿🇦.
Zambia is effectively a South African colony (economically )
Pietro Jenkins respect your elders.
We only went to 6 malls and were already tired 🤣🤣🤣

Zambia is beautiful 😍
Africa to the world. More love from Ghana
All the malls are own by south Africans, in south Africa malls are everywhere too but hospitals are much as well too in south africa
Hospitals qnd schools are everwhere bro you are correct.
Not all belongs to south african. A zambian firm called napsa has belt more malls in the country and its using south african contractors to build them. Most malls are purely zambian, but south african and zambians are renting the shops.
Nice English accent there from Zambians.
Black people aspire to be white 😂😀😂
Should anglophone Africa just pretend that the many who speak it well, don't? and rather speak a "broken" version for the cameras? LOL
@@foxbat473 I don't think we have European accents. most of us have a clear accent but not European. we are not trying to be white, our accents are influenced by the languages we speak, sort of speaking English with the rules of our language.
@@TitaT thats why i said black people aspire to be white, coz we celebrate when we have a nice "English accent"
@@foxbat473 you said "aspire to be white" insinuating her trying to sound European. or rather Zambians trying to sound European but my point is that's a real accent and no white people have that accent. unless of course they are zambian whites
She's beautiful 🥺❤️😩
There are definitely more schools than malls in Lusaka.
Nice to have you here
From Spain and first to comment.
Thank you for coming to Zambia Wode Maya. You are more than welcome
You might be interested to know that the City of Lusaka has got a number of levels 1 hospitals being constructed closer to the people(in the densely populated areas) and 2 big referral hospitals which you should take time to see before you conclude your tour.I wish you a wonderful time in my country.

So you want Zambia to have more hospitals? We do not want to be sick. We want to enjoy life.
My brother they call it localisation. Thanks. A shopping more near to home. We are developing fast and steady. Zambia is very blessed. We love us and other people. Thank you
Zambia another beautiful African country. I noticed that Zambia has a lot of Shop Rite stores!!!
Welcome to Zambia. East Park mall is the biggest; not only in Zambia, but also the biggest in Southern Africa.
Are you serious? Have they extended it? Last time I checked, it was smaller than manda hill, levy, cosmopolitan..
mwiya nawa thierry That’s not true. South Africa hosts the biggest mall in Africa called Fourways Mall
Great job Maya welcome to Zambia
