    That splitter is one efficient machine.
    I only burn about 4 cords a year but I hate buying junk equipment.
    After watching many videos, I intend to buy a Split-Fire 3465 with many options.
    I believe it comes with a 4-way wedge but I don't think I see a need for it, maybe?
    Would you buy a Split-Fire again?
    Keep up the videos.

      Tim thanks for subscribing and stopping by. I would for sure buy another Split Fire very impressive equipment. I also have a 3403 that I used to use a lot on my tractor. It has a 4way wedge and I don’t use it much either. They tend to create more mess than I like and I can work around the tough stuff better with the two way. When you call Split Fire to order your splitter if talk with Kyle tell him I said hello. Don’t hesitate if you have any questions though I probably won’t be much help with the model you are going with.

    Is the lift table bent? Have a lot of 24 to 36” pieces, want a splitter that will last.

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Steve it’s not bent. It has an angle so it is easier to get the logs on when it’s lowered. That said rounds in that size range are probably too large for this splitter. Once you get past 24” with heavy stuff it will try to tip over the splitter. Take care , Ben.

    Didn't recognise it as cherry, until you split it, don't have any wild cherry in the UK (the odd ornamental crops up). From the bark I would have said apple. Feel for you in the heat - 22c tomorrow here and that pretty warm for Sept.

    Hey Ben, congrats on your daughter's wedding. You both must be proud. That splitter on full throttle moves quickly. Like you said, you are the only limiting factor at that point. Have a good one and catch you next time! WST

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Chad I’m hoping everything goes smoothly lots of factors with an outdoor wedding. You’ll get the hang of the splitter the hardest thing to me is the diverter valve. I forget to switch it back to split then dump the log lifter. It will be a while before your splitter gets the new wore off then it should get faster. Take care, Ben.

    • @shottyshoshco
      @shottyshoshco 2 года назад +2

      @@OGAOutdoors I would like a dedicated valve for the log lift. I probably would make as many mistakes by grabbing the wrong valve but would be slightly faster.

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  2 года назад

    Friend of mine has an old splitfire, works soooo much faster w two people bc the splits fall to the sides, not pushed out one end like a push plate model. My yardmax 25 is the same. Nice video!

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  3 года назад

      Steve thanks for watching and commenting. Yes the Split-Fire is a pretty sweet machine. I agree it would be faster with two people but unfortunately I’m pretty much a one man show. I do pretty good with it I can split about a 1/3 cord per hour. I split pretty small for these small Alabama fires. Take care, Ben.

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching this is my Split-Fire 2265. It doesn’t have a 4 way wedge. It really flies with the two way wedge. Thanks again take care, Ben.

  • @TractorTech
    @TractorTech 3 года назад +1

    The speed of the splitter is close to a kinetic. Where is a kinetic is going to beat it is with its push through wedge. Once you get a piece split down with the kinetic, you can let the next piece push it off. A dual direction splitter is really not as conveyor friendly. Splitfires are great splitters with a good price that are too often overlooked.

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  3 года назад

      Yes your splitter goes through the wood and pushes everything off the end of the table. You do have to pull back/reset the pieces that are too large. I would like to try a conveyor sometime though. Thanks for stopping by take care, Ben.

    • @jakebredthauer5100
      @jakebredthauer5100 Год назад

      I would think that Split Fire
      Could make it push the word out both ends and the elevator could be under one end.

    It looks like you're using the same hydraulic valve to raise the lift and run the splitter. Is there some other thing you have to do to switch between the lift and the splitter?

    • @OGAOutdoors
      @OGAOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Hey Norman yes it has a small diverter valve you have to move to select knife or lifter. This video shows how it works. Thanks for stopping by take care, Ben.
