I'd love for you to do a video about how to keep your hair fresh after a workout and/or how to best get rid of the ponytail bump! I work out 4-5 days a week and I want to do better with my hair maintenance, but don't want to do more damage. Thanks!
would love to see this too !!
Ok I'll start working on it 👍
I love these videos! They have helped me so much !
I love this RUclips channel! Thank you Chris
Yes, would like to see this type of video too, I work out 4-5 days a week too and my hair is soooo greasy and oily because of the sweat 😓 wash my hair with professional shampoo 2x but still no results so what do I do? I can’t wash my hair every day but every other I do …😩🥺😕
I could cry tears of happiness. I was currently on year three of having extreme oily flat hair in the back of my scalp and top of my head. I tried everything. Asked multiple salon artists. Bought at least 7 different shampoos all between $50-$100, watched other hair washing RUclips videos that swore lathering in your hands was the key, and nothing worked. I thought maybe it was postpartum hormones and my next step was to go to a doctor. I am so grateful I found this! This is the first time in years I had a healthy clean scalp throughout my entire head. If you have to wash three times, do it! Thank you thank you thank you for literally saving me with this gift of a video 🙏🏽
Extra note! I was able to pull out 3 expensive professional shampoos that I had archived under the sink because they previously kept my scalp oily with my previous hair washing methods (davines/shu uemera/r&co). All of them with this new hair washing method work great in my hair. Now I have years of shampoo with this new routine 🙈 btw! I was desperately using detox shampoo which only made my hair oilier. Skip all the other marketing schemes and attempt this technique! It's worth the shot, trust me!!!
Sydney, I have the same...its horrible.😪..always oily scalb.
I will try what Chris told ...
@@henrikekuhmann4727how did it go?
I also tried the lathering the shampoo in ur hands method and my hair never looked worse. It was hella oily and dirty and for the love of god I couldn't make it to actually wash my hair. The only reason I tried it was because my hair was dry after the washing day until enough oil was produced to make it smoother. So dropping this method and implementing hair oil into my routine was one hell of an improvement.
It’s embarrassing to admit that I wasn’t washing or even drying it properly my whole life , these simple tips literally have my hair back growing like nothing ever happened !! It’s only been a couple months !! I’m grateful I found your videos ! You are like a hair god !!! Thank you 🙏🏽
You are SO NOT ALONE!!! lol It's amazing how much I'm learning since I've found this channel (and some from Swavy Curly Courtney, Gina Marie, & Manes By Mel). I think Chris definitely wins because of the detail he goes into hair care stuff. It's fantastic that he has everything broken down - who would have thought a video specifically focusing on how to wash your hair would exist!!! I'm so glad it does!
Same situation, no one taught me how to wash my hair or myself I learned everything from yt

Thank you for being so through in something seemingly so simple
Professor, you saved my scalp and my sanity!!!! :) For over TEN YEARS, I have suffered chronic itchy scalp. My skin literally crawled, and I scratched it so hard. I tried everything. I had to constantly tell my preschool coworkers that I didn't have lice, but just chronic itchy scalp. A doctor gave me a topical steroid. Just temporary relief. Well, I was about to have a scalp biopsy, but I found your video in time. I started dividing my hair in quadrants like you show, and smashed that shampoo into those partings to clean the scalp really well. Then I started shampooing twice as you said. My itchy scalp is GONE. All along it was just me washing wrong. A decade of suffering past! I thank you, and my scalp thanks you!!! :)
I'm also one of those women that apparently don't know how to wash their hair. Went out and bought the redkin volume shampoo and conditioner you suggest for fine hair, as well as following the rest of the routine you suggested and OMG I noticed a difference immediately and how my hair felt and looked. Now I'm binge watching all of your videos so I can feel like a pro. 🤣
But seriously, PLEASE do a video on conditioner because I'm probably doing that wrong too. 😅
Yes, please do a conditioner video!
I agree- please do a conditioner video! ❤
"apply to hair and scalp" 😮
So happy to have found this channel. In less than a month, I too am now an expert 😂
Here to report I have tried Chris’s hair washing technique ONCE so far (yesterday) and it’s already made a very noticeable difference in my day 2 hair today. Usually, it gets so greasy and oily by now that no amount of dry shampoo can help, so I throw it back in a bun. However, I’m proudly wearing it down today! I think one of the biggest things I was doing wrong was emulsifying the shampoo in my hands first. I followed the advice of another hair/beauty RUclipsr for an entire year and it did nothing for my hair. This man’s advice made an impact in 24 hours. Shampoo KungFu is the way to go! Can’t wait to see the results from continued use of his trinity routine! ❤️
i had exactly the same problem as u, can u go longer without washing ur hair now?
@Bella M honestly the best thing I’ve done for my hair is find a shampoo that actually keeps the grease at bay. I recently started using one with zinc pyrithione (my derm has her own line), and this has been the game changer. Hair washing technique does help, but I honestly think incorporating this into my routine has made the biggest difference! I also apply a small amount of all-natural dry shampoo with a makeup brush at night before bed and it seems to help as well. 👍
Haha Shampoo KungFu love it!
I've been fighting my fine oily hair for 61 years. Been trying your method for the last month & I have to say, wow! What a difference this technique made. Also started using leave in conditioner. Where have you been all of my life?!?!! Hahaha!
good evening, which leave in would you like to share?
@@Faisel-i9j Hi there. I bought Shea Moisture's Silicone Free Miracle Styler/Leave-in Treatment. Just to let you know though, that I bought it on sale for $10 at my local drugstore. Otherwise this stuff is on regular price for $26, which I wouldn't pay. Lol! I live in Canada so it may be less expensive elsewhere. It's the silicone free that caught my eye because silicone leaves my hair too greasy. I only need a couple of pumps so this will go a long way. I'm hoping it's on sale again when I run out, otherwise I'll be on the hunt again for something similar but at a price point I can afford. Who knows? If I absolutely still love it at that time I may splurge. Good luck & happy New Year!
I’ve been doing this exact technique for years and it truly works! I last 5-7 days between washes if I don’t work out and sweat profusely. I always think thought it was strange my first wash would have no suds, but the second is when everything really foams up. So good to know that’s normal! Love your videos Chris, keep it up!
Just tried your routine with the shampoo you recommended and at the first wash I didn’t get any suds. Then I washed it again like you said and THERE WERE SO MANY SUDS OMG IT WAS FOAMING. I was literary mind blown and my hair feels so freaking clean. Thank you so much, Chris! Pls make a video for conditioner because now I don’t know if I’m doing that right 😂
Make sure u apply It mid to your ends, mostly. If the shampoo starts on top to bottom, the conditioner is the opposite. Gotta focus on massaging the ends, not the head.
50 ye old black female here. Just learning how to wash my hair properly! Thank you!
My Dad was an hairdresser back in the 60's and 70's. He taught me exactly this way of washing your scalp and hair. He used to say "scalp first and foremost! And don't forget the nape!" 🙏🏻😁💚
Seriously, I'm 60 years old and your videos are changing my life! The way you describe how to get the shampoo to your scalp is SO helpful. I'm up to about 3-4 days between washing, and every other wash is done with a co-wash. I've just started this routine, but it's helping me spend less time on styling. I DO find myself having to do little "fresh ups," just little fixes because I wear a ponytail and/or clip fairly regularly.
How do you do cowash? Wash with a conditioner on scalp?
Just showed my daughter this video. She was so happy and also surprised that the other videos we have been watching were not giving us this important information.
I have thin hair and can go 4 days without washing it I honestly thought it wasn’t much but this video made me feel better thank you for the awesome advice
This video CHANGED my life!
This is how I’ve been washing my hair for some years, glad to know I am not that clueless lol. Before I washed this way I always found that I had some residue and even a smell, until I started actually scrubbing and applying it directly to the scalp. I like your content, it’s well explained and to the point. New subscriber!
That soap and lather tip is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life 🤩
it works!!!! Thank you soooooooo much! I got from washing every seccond day to washing every 4/5 days and my hair en head feels so much better. Thnx for advising without pushing for selling products!
Keep up the good work :D
Yes! That's awesome :)
Hi! I have struggled to keep long hair for over a decade. After binge-watching your videos I have learned that I have been doing terrible things to my hair. I am going to try your method and see if it works. I went to Ulta today to pick up some hair products and will begin my journey tomorrow. I am going to give myself a year 😃 Thank you for sharing much-needed information!
I am washing it every 5.5 days now! amazing, I am saving water, heating, time and products! Thanks
This man is just out here casually changing lives on RUclips. Thank you!!!!! Simple, effective advice and great delivery. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I use cheap shampoo and conditioner, I wash the right way and can still go 2 weeks until my hair is greasy, I also comb my hair and don't use any products or heat, I use a deep conditioner once a month, I use a leave in conditioner once in awhile, my hair is medium to thick and a bit wavy
I love your videos!!! I am 55 and was really struggling with my hair...I "thought" it was age..but then I found your videos and discovered that I have been hijacking my hair for my entire life...doing everything wrong!! 3 weeks into using your techniques, upgrading my products and I literally have a totally different head of hair! I can't thank you enough! Hopefully when I'm in Florida next I can book an appt with you!! Would love to meet you and give you a big hug!!!
I just want to thank you! Ive gone from washing my hair every day to being able to only wash it every 4-5 days after trying your way! Thank you so much for your videos and helping us understand our hair ❤
Do you have to put some water before applying shampoo? Or just shampoo straight on the scalp?
@@pixiesujira6995 some water before
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I still cannot believe how incredibly easy it has been to select the best products and to create the best routine for my hair.
You don't even know how many "natural hair care" products I'm about to hand out. And they are not cheap in South Africa. I cannot believe how much money I have sent on products that promised so much but that delivered absolutely nothing.
Thank you for offering us tried and tested products so that we don't have to go out to spend big money on bad products. I've been done with "natural" products but my hair is now thriving even been (and INSTANTLY) using professional hair products. I recall Leslie saying in one video that you would immediately know whether certain new products worked for your hair. I was skeptical... But Leslie was not lying. ❤
Hi Chris! You have changed my life!Thank-you so much for teaching me how to shampoo, condition,leave-in condition, hair oil and everything else!My hair hasn’t been this healthy since the ‘80s (and I’m 50 now!)I am now able to grow my hair(or at least be able to see it growing)and am very grateful and excited🌹Thanks again!
Congrats!!❤
@Blank blank what do you use excatly? Which products
I used to have to wash my hair every day, two at a push. I’m now in week 3 of your program and now can go up to 4 days 😮 you’re the real MVP. Thanks!
Thank you BP your the best in the hair care space on youtube, always giving the best advice with no BS.
I’ve literally struggled with my hair until now! Fine frizzy hair now gone! Bought all the product recommendations. And I will never use anything else. Thank you so much!!!! ❤
hii sorry for asking lol but have u noticed any special hair growth after u started using the product recommendations?
Thrilled you came into my feed today. Interestingly, I've been doing the soap application as described for years (to the scalp, etc.) but had no idea about the lather/suds aspect - it was a lightbulb moment when you explained that. Thank you a thousand times over.
I would love to see a video on how to detangle hair (wet vs dry?) and which tools are best to avoid breakage, combs, brushes etc
Start combing or brushing from the bottom upwards 👍
Heads no combs, start at the bottom using a wet brush brand brush
This men saved my life. Thank you
Your videos make me very calm. Five years ago I started having problems with my hair and became completely obsessed with it. Everyone said something different, recommended different products and I am now thousands of euros further when it comes to products (10% of which work really well for me) but I want to thank you. You lighten it for me and I hope to get my hair back with your tips.
I'm coming back after watching this a few days ago. I've tried to adhere to the advice here. What a difference! I love my hair now. What a difference. I'm ready to go try the Moroccanoil Masque you recommended elsewhere. Thanks for all the advice!
I have done Chris's washing technique. It works
I cannot believe what just happened! Usually my second day hair is a greasy mess and absolutely requires dry shampoo. No exceptions.
I tried this way of washing my hair and can I just say, I’m in total shock! No oil yet and I have fine hair and an oily scalp. THANK YOU! THANK YOU soo much! I am in awe ❤
Oh, Chris, how I love your videos! TOTALLY A GAME CHANGER in your and Leslie's words! Big hugs! ❤
I tried this with my Walmart Aveeno shampoo being careful not to lather until it sat on my scalp for a minute or so and it actually did improve my hair! I am going to save up to get some better shampoo and conditioner but I prob can only go every other day for washing until then. Still glad to learn how to do this after 40 years hahaha doing it wrong this whole time! I will share this video for sure ❤
i been doing this for a couple months now ,and oh my lord my hair never been this good
is soooo soft and shiny
my friend love to play with my hair now ,is was that soft
is takes me no time at all to takecare of my hair
not too much product ,make sense and effective
i change my whole routine to a professional product and i was able to go 3 day between wash and it saved me so much money (i have fine hair)
is a amazing! my life is so much easier
thank you so so so much!! love your content
pls never stop making vdo!!!❤❤❤
I havent changed any products yet, just changed to your washing technique and you feel the difference right away! Wow!
Wow! I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve binged watched all you videos and learnt so much. I’ve even recommend you channel to my friends.
You are amazing and you’ve changed so many peoples hair game. THANK YOU 🙏
Thank you so much Chris! It is the first time when I am taught how to properly wash my hair 💛
You’re a great teacher with tried and true info. I have learned so much from your videos. I wish I’d found them sooner. ❤
I go about 3-5 days between washes. Since I started to bleach my hair I needed to figure out a way to not have to wash my hair daily or even every other day as to not have to dry it out. Using my fingertips like they do at the salon has really helped. If I don’t get a good sudsing, I rinse and wash again to make sure all the oil and dirt is out. I use lots of dry shampoo between washes. I know you knock drugstore products but I swear by suave clarifying shampoo! I use it at least once weekly and it gets my hair super clean but not dry.
Thank you so much Chris for your directions on how to wash your hair and the products to use has made a major difference in how my hair comes out. Such a major difference in how my hair comes out after blowing it out. Also cleaned my brushes which was an added factor.
Wow just found your channel and am blown away about how well you deliver the content with no bs. Great work! Keep it up!
I can tell you right now( and I LOVE your channel.). There is no way I will ever be able to go anything past every other day. NOTHING will change it. My mom is a hairdresser. I grew up with great products on Biolage and Redken twenty years ago. I’m too oily even at my age. I never have done anything less than two washes.
Same, my hair is extremely oily and even getting it washed at a trusted salon I was having to wash it every other day and even every day in the summer
Exactly!!! How much oil our scalps produce is determined by genetics. Not to say that these techniques aren't helpful, but I'm a fine haired gal with a very oily scalp. I use high quality products and still have to wash every other day, and usually with a little dry shampoo in between.
Yes, we all are different, and some of us need to wash our hair everyday. Dermatologist agree with this.
I always thought that too until I went through menopause. I used to have to wash my hair every day, but now I can go up to every 3rd or 4th day... and I haven't even started using his product recommendations or methods yet!
@@SweetStuffOnMonarchLane something to look forward to with menopause then I guess hahaha
I can go 9 days between shampoos now with two refreshing water washes in between. I do daily scalp massage and scalp oil before the water washes. I use the Olaplex Hair Oil on the ends every other day. Using all of your techniques my " fine but lots of it" shoulder length hair looks better and more luscious than ever. My routine is: 3 days natural, 3 days heat styled with a hot brush or beachy waves curling iron, and 3 days up in a clip. I air dry to 80% before using a styling tool.
Does the scalp oil before water washes not cause the hair to look oily?
Amazing I am 46 and did't know this routine. I have fine and long hair and no volume at all. I used this technique the first time and what a difference. My hair was softer and had a lot more volume. thanks for your advice!
I started double washing a couple years ago with professional products and it has helped. My hair feels really fluffy and clean right after I shampoo but within a few hours the oils start coming through and my roots flatten out. And I’m a bit of a compulsive hair toucher so once the process starts I make it worse. Did I also mention I’m a chronic face sweater as well? 😂 I’m going to try this method. If it works it will be a miracle.
My only issue is that dermatologists mostly say you should wash at least every 3 days. Fine thin hair with hair loss issue (androgenetic alopecia) should wash daily.
I could listen to you all day absolutely fantastic I have natural curly hair and my have you taught me some valuable lessons strangling before washing with fingers gentley plus not to use loads of product. I could go on thank you for the videos on you tube amazing thank you so much at last I can deal with my hair instead of dragging it out 😉
I’m in my third week of the ‘healthy hair routine’ and it is phenomenally amazing!!!!!!🌹Thanks so much!!
Chris, you are AMAZING!! I’m so excited to try this out! I have a feeling I will feel the difference just by the fact, that you are saying different things than all the „gurus“ I have been listening to in the field and that brought zero results. THANK YOU!!
I enjoy your videos. Simple tips and techniques but so important. I always make sure I’m using a clean pillow case several times per week. Also, remembering to clean brushes, combs and rollers on a regular basis.
I'm really glad I found this video! The technique he recommends is legit. I put the shampoo on my hand (I dont spread in on my hand at all) and press it down with a little pressure on my scalp and then start spreading and rubbing it all over the scalp with my fingers. My hair used to get that oily look 2-3 days after i washed it. Now, it's been 4 days since my last wash and my hair still actually looks good, minimally oily. I believe i can go another 2-3 days before washing it again, making it a whole whopping week between washes. Also I use a gentle, sls free shampoo and lukewarm water.
Guys he knows what he's talking about. Since watching his videos Ive been able to achieve the 'light airy' salon result at home.
Amazing how everything in life that seems to be something so basic has steps that work out for the best.
Im washing my hair with a shampoo for babies. And i love it. Makes my hair soft and shiny
Thank you Chris. Another wonderful video. You changed the way I wash my hair. Please make a video how to apply the conditioner and the leave in conditioner ( ordered it after watching you). Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Really informative! I have fine oily hair with dry ends and I wash my hair inconsistently in a range of every 3-7 days (it really just depends on how often i leave my home since i wfh). Watched your video on how to help combo hair as well, going to do some research and product shop this week! I had given up on trying to maintain my oily scalp + dry hair but you've given me hope!
This video is SO helpful. Apparently, I've been washing my hair incorrectly for 45 years 🥺
Vani Cao Haha same here! I am 48 and just learning this! At least I can teach my teen girls
I damaged my hair when I was in Florida for a while…..salt water dried and damaged it and it broke off 😥. I have fine hair and I’m 54. I’m going to try your routine and see what happens. Thankyou, I’ll let u know how it goes. Luv ur videosI’m glad I found your channel.😃👍
Chris, the techniques you share are always SO helpful and your videos are incredibly informative!! Just received my first Hair Box and am very excited to try all your great products. THANK YOU!
I have coarse relaxed hair. One thing I learned living in the girl's dorm and swapping hair stories: Hair like mine should not be squeaky clean. It's so hard to keep any oil on our hair/scalp that we add moisture and/or oils sometimes daily. If you make your hair squeaky clean you've stripped it and probably harmed it. Clean that scalp like crazy; the extra shampoo running over the hair will probably take care of cleansing it.
Yeah, we all have different hair textures. Most white people will have more similar hair textures to each other than other races. Hence why most black people only go to other black people to get their hair done. I wouldn't go to a person of a different race and expect all their hair advice to fit yours, when it's entirely different. Most black people wouldn't know what to do with my hair at all and I wouldn't blame them one bit or expect them to know either.
My hair is fine, thin, straight, and oily. It's as white as white people hair gets. Disgusting. I used to wash it daily 5 days a week in high school, and only let it rest on the weekends. It started getting oily after 12 hours. I was doing exactly what people told me to do with my hair type, but I didn't realize how actually rare my hair type is because everyone copies it. Everyone straightened their hair, including black people. How was I supposed to know that wasn't normal? It was for me. What people with STRAIGHTENED hair need to do and what people with STRAIGHT hair need to do are so entirely different it's not even funny. Yet at the same time, STRAIGHT hair isn't so insanely different that it needs to be constantly stripped of oils, like I was doing. It's like most other hair types in how that it needs moisture, just not as heavy on the products. It's so easy to put too much of anything on my hair and make it oily and gross. The sweet point is such a fine line I usually miss it. But with this man's advice, my hair is better off than it ever has been listening to those harpies at the salons with their STRAIGHTENED hair only telling half of the things I needed to know and depriving my hair of any moisture since it's "naturally straight," and they can't NOT dry it out like crazy to make it "look" thicker. My hair isn't like thick, wavy, curly types. But it still needs moisture and delicate care.
Not 0 conditioner anything and harsh towel drying into blow drying with no conditioning products at all and mousse and powders and hairsprays. Eeesh. No wonder my hair was gross.
It depends on how you wear your hair. I’m relaxed and wear braids. This is Absolutely helpful in removing build up. Also some stylists like to use heavier products on our hair and my least favorite, waxes. We absolutely must use a clarifying shampoos from time to time. I grew up with greasy hair due to added products being applied wrong as the norm. Also, if your hair has build up then it cannot be properly moisturized which is SUPER important for course hair.
My hair has been less dry since taking his above.
Omgosh I’ve been washing my mids and ends with shampoo! No wonder, my hair feels so dry after I wash and blow dry it. I’ve been using olaplex and my hair feels a lot healthier. I usually shampoo twice since I only wash it once a week. I’m going to try only wash my roots next week when I wash my hair. Thank you.
Awesome! That should make a big difference for you Molly :)
This really works! I have been trying this method, and my scalp feels so clean and my hair is so soft. Thank you!
I ordered the redken injection products with the ulta sale. I think your link was sold out. Got a gwp also. I'm concerned about some ingredients, but I'll try 😁
I have fine hair, stopped coloring about six years ago. White /silver/ platinum. Used to be very dark, long ago. Stopped blow drying 7 to 8 years ago. I get compliments all the time. I have just about no split ends. Love your very detailed info. Thank you. Got the Moroccan oil mask.
Hsir dresser saw gray in my hair in my early teens lol. It is what it is
I workout every day and live in the tropics. My head sweats so my hair is dripping wet by the end of my workout salty sweat. I have fine hair. I wash everyday. It would be really gross not to. But I will use these techniques to wash for sure and I always use professional products and lots of masks to keep my hair in good condition
Thank you very much for your recommendations! I live in Thailand, with the humidity and working out, I didn't think my medium hair can last 5 days! But I worked! Why no one teaches this in school! 🤣
I follow a trichologist, and she says if you work-out and sweat, you need to wash your hair. What are your thoughts on that? I work-out 4-6 days a week and sweat a lot! And my hair gets greasy by the end of the day, more on the days I work-out. So I very rarely style my hair. And I never use product beside shampoo conditioner and leave in in my hair. I'll use dry shampoo but I also don't want the build up so it's rare.
Wow, that was really helpful.
I was having itching and grease dandruff scalp problem, due to medication that applicated right on head skin.
But seems like with this method of washing my scalp feels much more calm.
Still had some dandruff but not so big and flaky (so i'm not constantly stressed about it).
Also hair is not overdried but feels so clean.
Thank you!
you and i had the same situation i will do this method now
I’d love some advice for those of us using a shampoo bar and conditioner! This is such amazing info but curious how it translates to a shampoo bar.
I literally use to wash my hair daily when I was young now I can wash mine once a week in my 50s. Love not being a slave to my hair.
Love to hear it!
Hi Chris, you're fantastic, I'm watching all of your videos! I learnt a lot, thank you so much. With my hair type I can go between 5 and 7 days depending on the physical exercise I do, however I noticed this timeframe really changes when I go in more polluted places. Where I live the air is pretty clean and when I visit friends and family in cities that are more polluted my hair get really affected and therefore need to be washed more frequently. Thank you so much for your great work!!
"the buds and lathers" explanation reminds me when I bathed my Nintendogs and i had to wait for the buds to be white to be sure they were all cleaned up properly.
10/10 explanation thank you
To be honest, i always do this without thinking 😂 I can go up to 7 days without washing my hair !!! n everyone get grossed out. I thought its wrong but literally my hair smells good n is clean! I go by this “if my scalp start to itch a lil” its wash day! but i realized its after 4-5 days :>
I have fine hair and it's falling out really a lot during shampooing. I'm doing it incorrectly and will start with your method and product recommendations. Thank you for the video tutorial.
Did it work?
I tried this technique with the Nioxin shampoo (used it for over 3 years for my fine hair, don't want to swtich), and I DIDNT KNOW IT LATHERS! Thank you)))
Excellent instructions on getting clean hair! Now everything makes sense! Thank you!!🙌
I adjusted the technique of washing my hair just the way you advice and I can go now for at least 4 days so that’s awesome 🎉❤
I always used double shampoo technique because I found that the ladder was so weak because my hair wasnt "wet" enough the first time I wash it then after washing out it always ladders ALOT. Glad to realise I was at least washing my hair party right, will be trying this technique as to how to apply shampoo for the next wash!! Excited for the results!

I probably say this on all your videos, but I love your videos. I’ve been losing more hair since having covid, (I think that’s the reason) but I think following your hair are advice is helping look after what I have.
Hey, thank you, I‘ll try this technique tomorrow. I have a question: doesn‘t shampooing twice dry out the scalp? Sorry if I made mistakes, english isn‘t my mother tongue.
thank you so much for this!! im so tired of washing my hair everyday! and i really didnt know why this was happening!
I have really oily skin and my skalp is oily as well due to my hormones (I got that checked). I have to wash my hair every two days because of that condition or else there’s an oil fest going on 😅 I used to wash my hair every day and your method got me to every two days. I’m working on every three days but it’s tricky when I’m doing lots of sports on top of my oil problem.
Hormones and sports definitely makes it more difficult! Hope you're able to get to 3 days though 🙏
I’m every other day. Nothing will change it.
@@lexijones8019 You could try and only use shampoo every other wash. So 2 days after using shampoo, just water (which does remove dirt and build up, just be patient and run the water through your scalp and hair for a few minutes). Then you can add conditioner to the mids and ends. See how it is for the next couple of days and then use shampoo. Might get you every 4 days if you do it that way. I mean technically it doesn't save you on the process or the time.. but it saves you on shampoo if it works as well as preventing over-shampooing which can dry out the scalp and hair more easily and lead to more breakage or a higher porosity which can lead to dry frizzy hair.
Would love if you could do a video on managing a dry and itchy scalp. If using pre-shampoo products like BHAs (e.g. Inkey list sal acid, etc.) is helpful? Should people with such scalps wash their hair more often, etc.
Yess he needs to do this!
I do the thing where you get a ton of suds and lather on your hands then put it in your hair 😅 I’ll be trying your techniques, thank you !!
Yeah many people were taught that way :) let me know how it goes 👍
7:28 Lucky lady, Leslie is...to have Chris washing and styling her hair weekly! Wow.
I do this and it does make a difference. Saw it from Brad Mondo.
I don’t like scrubbing
Hello there, I know you get a lot of comments, so I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I would really appreciate some expert advice.
I have a paramilitary job, meaning my hair has to look squared away in a bun. I have had this job for the past five years. Because of the hairspray I use to tame my flyaways, my hair feels crusty and gross. I know washing my hair everyday is horrible. But I hate the idea of going to bed with crusty hair, waiting to wash it. This has perpetuated the problem because my hair is so dry it just creates more flyaways, using more hairspray, washing it daily, it's a vicious cycle.
I would really appreciate your input. I want to wear healthy natural hair while I'm not working, but my hair right now is so unhealthy. Is there a substitute for hairspray? Thank you so much for these videos. They've been so helpful to me. Best regards.
Not everybody can afford shampoo for hairdressers. There are definitely good options at the drugstore. It all depends on the ingredients, especially the surfactants in the shampoo.
Didn’t know you knew more than someone that went to cosmetology school and has years of experience lol
I just tried your hair wash routine and my hair got so soft I can't thank you enough for this❤️❤️
Thank you for your explanations. I don't speak "salon" language and always struggle to explain the color, highlight tone, or haircut I want. Would you be able to do a translation video?😁 or if you could direct me to a video you may of done before.
And thanks for the tips. I do 90% of the way you said. I have one or two things to improve but I'm on my way to do what you directed. 👍😊
Take care of your health! And thank you for all the great hair advice.
Hello Chris, would you be able to make an updated video in the future to show how much shampoo to apply in each area, or how much of a pump I should put on my palm before applying. I’m a bit worried of putting too much or too less on my scalp
What I am concerned is that every time I scrub my scalp, I tend to have so much shedding after washing regardless of being gentle. I have followed this video entirely and I shed more than usual now despite feeling clean and being able to last before the next wash. The shedding isn’t that bad if I don’t scrub my scalp but without scrubbing, it would just defeat the whole purpose. I never use my nails and I scrub gently. Now I am troubled as to how can I achieve clean hair and at the same time stop scrubbing my hairs out.
Try to use sls free shampoo, its less chemical. wash twice, but keep it short for each. dont wash too long. dont scrub, rather just massage your head.
I’d love to see a video of how to use conditioner on oily hair.
