I'll never forget meeting Johnny Cash. It was at the Houston Collesium. I went back stage and asked someone how I could meet him. He told me to stand in a certain place against the wall and when Johnny came out that backstage door, I would be the first one he would greet. Sure enough he came out with the warmest grin I had ever seen, walked right up to me, shook my hand and said "how you doin' fella?" Johnny Cash was a great man.
Just a handful of Verses to express the most complicated feeling in the world perfectly. In my opinion one of the best love songs out there, Cash's voice is haunting.
Been through this with a girl I loved so much this year and wow this song is so powerful. Must of played this song about ten times over and over on the Folsom prison version on my walk the other day. Amazing song.
I still miss my first wife. She is dead. My current is very understanding when it comes to her. She is the only woman I ever full loved. RIP Amber!!!!!
I met my wife 43 yrs ago. I knew she was different. We had been dating about 2 weeks. She had an ex coming into town and they went to dinner. I was hurt that she kept this date. I planned to not call her again. If I had it would have been a terrible mistake. I called her the next day and we went out. We were married 7 months later. Such an incredible life we have had together. I still love someone.
Johnny's top song, perhaps not in sales or chart action, but in sheer, heartbreaking beauty. Without doubt one of the greatest lost love songs ever written.
This song reminds me of my childhood and in particular my Grandparents and growing up in Kokoda, Papua New Guinea. They raised me on a small plantation where they grew cocoa and coffee. My grandfather was a veteran and tended to his plantation with much love and dedication aided by his wife my Grandmother. After a days hard work they would sit and put on music like this on their record player and have sweet black tea and watch the sun set together. I would be busy playing near them and waiting for the evening meal. They were wonderful times.
At my door the leaves are falling A cold wild wind will come Sweethearts walk by together And I still miss someone I go out on a party And look for a little fun But I find a darkened corner 'Cause I still miss someone Oh, no I never got over those blue eyes I see them every where I miss those arms that held me When all the love was there I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begun There's someone for me somewhere And I still miss someone
What are you talking about lol. That's like saying you feel sorry for people who put Zeppelin and rock & roll in the same sentence... What the fuck do you mean
Johnny always sang and wrote from the bottom of his heart. After all, this is what made him a giant - being true in what he did... He will always be an idol to me. Though, sadly, I never chanced to see him live on stage...
I met Johnny cash in Rome ga at Byron stadium my son was young and wanted to meet him my cousin was a police man standing at his bus door I walked over to a police man at the fence and told him to tell my cousin Randy that Bobby wanted to meet Johnny cash so Randy told Johnny and he came down to where we were and shook hands with Bobby and talked to us Bobby will never forget that he was just a regular and great guy
He changed a few words to make it sound like more of a love song but it was first inspired by John always feeling like there was a piece of him missing since Jack died.
I still miss someone from 40-odd years ago, green eyes not blue but still gorgeous. Love to know what became of her, but very apt song, brings back all sorts of memories. My favourite Johnny Cash song.
First time I heard this is was my Grandfather playing it. Lost him 6 months ago. Today would have been his 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Grandad. Still miss you.
I had no opportunity to go to the legendary Johnny Cash concert in Prague in the spring of 1978. I saw it later in television from the recording. Perfect performance. Johnny is a country legend. Listen well to the piano sound. The pianist wanted to take the piano right from the concert home to the USA. This has not happened.
@Irishsheking My Father died from a life of heavy drinking when I was just 8,, He loved Johnny Cash and I always think of him whenever I hear Johnny Cash
Reading the comments, it is funny how everyone understand that this song is about two women, with the first woman being the love of the singer's life, and the second lover being a lesser love story.. Yet many of you argued me down that it was June who was the love of Jonny Cash's life, and not his first wife, that this song was written for June. If this song was written for June, it would not make much sense. But I do not need to tell that to you because judging from your comments, you understand the song. You just don't want to believe that Johnny and June was not in love. Well, I was fooled too. I thought June Carter was the love of his life. Johnny Cash was not in love with June Carter. His first love was the love of his life. This is a fact that I believed just about everyone who looked into his life figured. I think Witherspoon, the guy who played Johnny Cash, the crew responsible for researching, his (JC) son, they all figured it out. It is right there, right in your face. It is the truth. It is a shocking truth, but nevertheless, the truth.
i lost a year a year ago, my dad and her were married for 26 years, this song just brings tears to my eyes, how my dad must miss her terribly, thnk you Johnny, we still miss you
my mother taught me how to tune a guitar with this song in 1964 when I was 9. i still tune the guitar the same way to this day and most people don't know what it is.
Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs used to play this on their tv show back in the early 60's That's where I heard it for the first time. I always liked it and used to play it a lot.
@@noel5050 JC wasn't *always* any of those things, but few human beings are. It matters a great deal that he fought to regain the sobriety he abandoned, and eventually won. To say he *never* possessed any of those qualities is a flat-out lie. I'll wager you have a multitude of sins yourself that you'd just as soon never see the the light of day.
O.M.G, i wish Johney Cash Wasn't Dead, And I Like him, i have 14 CD's From him People! I Used to sing "The Ring Of Fire" When i was only 2 1/2 Years old! He is a God at Singing!!!
Johnny's nephew Roy wrote a poem for a college class, showed it to Johnny. It was the "B" side of DON'T TAKE YOUR LOVE TO TOWN, nothing much expected from it. On a country music discussion group we assembled over 50 'covers' of it. Other than the almost countless versions of Johnny doing it, hunt Bob Luman's haunting recitation.

I saw him June and son John perform from the 5th row great show.
Cool memory....👍
Thats awesome! I wish so bad that I wouldve been able to meet him but i was like 5 when he died lol

Excellently put!
As Willie put it once: "Three chords & the Truth - that's what a Country song is..."
You captured it perfectly.
I SURE MISS SOMEONE-- YOU JOHNNY CASH😢
A haunting masterpiece that countless men and women can identify with. Johnny's greatest song in my opinion.
Agreed!
Agreed.
hurt, boy named sue
Definitely.
Been through this with a girl I loved so much this year and wow this song is so powerful. Must of played this song about ten times over and over on the Folsom prison version on my walk the other day. Amazing song.
One of the most gorgeous keyboard solos ever. Haunting, regretful and somehow hopeful all at the same time.
Who is the keyboard player?
My wife of 35 Years died suddenly early this year. I have always loved his song. Even more in the last six months Arf
I still miss my first wife. She is dead. My current is very understanding when it comes to her. She is the only woman I ever full loved. RIP Amber!!!!!
Jef Rey That fucking sucks for ur current woman, knowing it isn’t true love and you don’t fully love her
My husband passed in May 2006. He was my one true love. I miss him every day. & ache for him. This song says so much!
Seems some don't understand. The heart can love more than one person, but i think a strong friendship is as important as "love."
lol this got some funny replies
I Miss SOMEONE
I still miss someone, more than she will ever know,
I still miss someone, more than he will ever know. I'm older now but he was in my heart all my life......
Me, too. More than he will ever know. And he won't give me a chance to explain

It would be impossible to say, but this might very well be the best Johnny Cash song. Definitely one of my favs.
It's my fave, and he wrote a lot of great songs.
Mám ji nejraději
Mám ji nejraději ❤
When he sing this beautiful song he was 46 years old. Ret in peace Johnny!
The only one who can sing this song with feelings and make you feel you are there with him. 😢

The world will never see anything like Johnny Cash ever again.
Johnny's top song, perhaps not in sales or chart action, but in sheer, heartbreaking beauty. Without doubt one of the greatest lost love songs ever written.
Johnny Cash did a lot of great but I still miss someone it's my favorite

Amazing story - I was right there with you!
i cried when i first heard this song...and i'm glad there are other people out there who feel like me.
At my door the leaves are falling
A cold wild wind will come
Sweethearts walk by together
And I still miss someone
I go out on a party
And look for a little fun
But I find a darkened corner
'Cause I still miss someone
Oh, no I never got over those blue eyes
I see them every where
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there
I wonder if she's sorry
For leavin' what we'd begun
There's someone for me somewhere
And I still miss someone
This song will always remind me of the great times I had with That someone.
Beautiful song that alot of people can relate to. I love the piano solo, that guy is a genius. Johnny Cash is king.
Music doesn't get better than this! Absolutely one of my favorite songs ever
That sweet piano is the icing on this musical piece of cake - an absolutely beautiful song! Johnny and June will live forever in music heaven.
Earl Ball on the piano was fantastic check out his solo from the same concert ruclips.net/video/Ee0rzclBP_c/видео.html
One of my all-time favorite Johnny Cash song.
Beautiful song, especially if you happen 78 and had a love of 48 years
I'm gonna play this song for my kids... It's one of the most beautiful songs that I've heard in my whole life. Amazing, amazing! God bless you, J.R..
Johnny Cash is still a Legend.I am going to sing Johnny songs to my kids in the cradle and all my life.
unforgettable genius of the great Johnny Cash
I love this guy such a pure voice
I feel so sorry for people that don't like country.....
+Jim Eagling They're really missing out
I love Cash and absolutely hate country music. I feel sorry for people who put "Johnny Cash" and "country music" in the same sentence.
What are you talking about lol. That's like saying you feel sorry for people who put Zeppelin and rock & roll in the same sentence... What the fuck do you mean
Tristan Massing I absolutely agree. People who say Cash & Country music must be high. They're all stereotypical dumbasses.
Johnny Cash was not just Country, but I do love Country music.
I love this version more than the studio one and both versions, hit the heart hard.
I think the same, I would have left it on the Silver album but just him singing that song.
Johnny always sang and wrote from the bottom of his heart. After all, this is what made him a giant - being true in what he did... He will always be an idol to me. Though, sadly, I never chanced to see him live on stage...
This is great. With wonderful songs like this Johnny will live forever.
Always when I hear this song I miss the girl I love with all my heart. Her name is as beautiful as her soul.
Man...the memories I had with this song.I remember in November at school on the second story, sitting with my friend.
What a great song, Johnny Cash and pianist !!!

Miss you Derek ❤
I still miss someone; you Johnny Cash.
Miss you a ton Johnny.
I wish more people my age would listen to this music so they could relate too! This music shouldn't be forgotten!
When Johnny Cash stood next to each US president, he commanded all the attention and eclipsed the Leader of the Free World.
Vůdce svobodného světa😂😂😂
Isn't he just stunning? Still miss him....
One of the greatest's greats.
One of the most unique and greatest musical geniuses since the Big Bang!
He changed a few words to make it sound like more of a love song but it was first inspired by John always feeling like there was a piece of him missing since Jack died.
Interesting. Thanks.
correction, NOBODY can sing ANY of Johnny Cash's songs right except him! he truly is a remarkable man :)

Wow, my first time I heard him sing this song like this way. I wish he was still around, i never got a chance to see him live.

This song reminds me of Johnny's older brother Jack, who died at the age of 15 when J.R. was 12.
