I grew up in Munising and had countless adventures on that beautiful island. Keep on Trekkin!

New subscriber. Loved this video! I need to get up there. Its so beautiful! I watched the video of germantown, my neck of the woods. You do a great job at narrating. If you dont, you should get into that. Thanks for the videos. Hope to see more!

The landscape of memory is only ever explored with love. ❤
Glad you got to do a trip with your bro.

Man, I'm so glad too. It was one of my favorite trips ever. Your line about memory goes very well with the spirit of the Proust quote at the beginning. I've been thinking about that a lot lately. Remind me to tell you the thing about rose-tinted glasses. And thanks for checking out the video, brother. I appreciate it.

I absolutely loved this video and getting a glimpse into your past. I love that you had these experiences past and present. These experiences made you an amazing, talented person. Thank you for sharing a little of your life with us and making me teary again 💜😘

Thank you for watching it with me, and for being patient and supportive while I'm out doing these things (and editing them...). The older I get, the more I realize how much those experiences shaped me, and the more grateful I become for them. I'm glad you enjoyed this little glimpse into those experiences 🥰💖

What a Grand Island indeed! So very Michigan. Oh the Michigan Lake's sunsets ❤ Such beauty to live on in our minds and memories 😍 The memories this brings back😮 oh the feels right now❤ I will never forget those rocks on Superior's shorelines. I suddenly wanted to start looking thru them and collecting some for keepsakes😂 And of course, the sound of loons will live with me forever as well as memories like these with my kids!

Thanks Mom ❤ I had a lot of feels while watching (and making) this one too. I put in the loons just for you 😉 Thanks for letting me borrow the photos, and thank you for giving me all these memories that mean so much to me. I wouldn't be doing any of this stuff if not for you. I love you ❤

This is beautiful on multiple levels, the most powerful of which being that of brothers just hanging out in the woods. I wonder if I could get my brother to do something similar...

Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words, brother. I think you should start working on Josh and see if you can get him to do something similar. I highly recommend it! Also, sorry for the delay in responding. My phone is now shadowbanning YT notifications as well as Discord ones...

I have always associated backpacking with mountains and elevation gain up until my wife and I backpacked Cumberland Island. We realized backpacking can be memorable even without any elevation and been looking forward for any island hike ever since. Hope to visit that place or Pictured rocks next year. Thank you for the video.

I know what you mean. I also get into the habit of always seeking out the mountains and big views. But sometimes these trips have just as much to offer. I'm planning on doing Pictured Rocks next year too, so maybe I'll see you there! Thanks for checking out the video!

That is so awesome...to retrace and make new memories with your brother. Gotta do these things when the opportunities arise as one never knows. Fantastic!! Bruce and Otis

Agreed! You never know whether or not those opportunities will arise again. I try to take advantage of them when I can. Thanks for the kind words!

Touching. I still meet my brother out at Grand Canyon 50 some odd years later. Very poetic. I have joined your channel and hope you will return the courtesy. Cheers!😄

@beyondthecampfire I definitely recognize and appreciate the work you put into your videos. Monetization is a long road, and hard earned.

Another wonderful trip! I enjoyed listening to you relive your childhood memories and seeing old photos. The intro was very creative! Btw... when I saw your brothers first close, I thought he slightly resembled my coworker who grew up near you. Crazy!!! 😅

We just all look like that up in Michigan 😂 Thanks for watching, brother. I'm glad you enjoyed the memories and the photos. I almost felt like making a 30-minute slideshow with the hundreds of photos I looked through, haha. We need to get the Tribe up in Michigan next!
