I really hope Mattel decides to put out a buzz that has all the bells and whistles of toy version buzz! I love the style and design for the lightyear buzz and it has the ability to be a great 12” toy! They even have the final suit in the final scene! I like the jet pack feature, but I feel like it’s one gimmick versus a bunch of amazing features!

To me I feel like buzz is based of the star command cartoon and lightyear is based on well lightyear I'd love a actual well painted lightyear toy, that would be cool, as well as a fully articulate action figure, with ball joints and stuff to make an epic figure
I mostly think the original buzz is better I just like the more toy feature and the contrast bright colors he has a lot of play features like in the movie but the new one is still pretty cool
I feel both versions are great in their own unique way, but I always thought that Toy Story buzz, especially the IRL toys of him, were cooler. Even if 2022 Buzz did eventually get his jetpack and laser.
They left it open, if you watch the movie old Buzz says that he “found” or he “borrowed” the Zurg stuff so it’s not really his! So the real Zurg could still be out there.
It’s not. Its not real smoke! It’s a water vapor exhaust and it’s cold to the touch, basically cold water. It works the same way as a humidifier. It’s perfectly safe. Smart technology to use on a toy.
I have the exact same thinkway toys Buzz, unfortunately mine is not doing too well, when i was younger my cousin (who i still hate to this day because of it) said he could fly and threw him on the bed, Buzz bounced off and landed on the floor with his helmet now broken in half. And then the light in his laser stopped working, then in 2019 i accidentally bent his stomach to the point where he broke in half and is now glued together and apparently now his blue button doesn’t do anything and he doesn’t make any ”woosh” sounds when i do the flight mode thingy anymore either. It breaks my heart to see him like this but i still hold him close to my heart and i’m considering if i should give him to my little brother
Yeah toys don’t last forever unless you just keep them on display. I don’t handle my toys much that is why they last. The more important thing is you had fun and made many childhood memories. I find both versions of Buzz Lightyear great, mostly because out of all the toy story movies, I now mainly like toy story 2, toy story 4 and Lightyear (along with the other Pixar movies: finding Nemo, cars (definitely my favourite from Pixar), ratatouille, cars 2 (another of my favourites), finding Dory, cars 3, incredibles 2 and onward). Out of all the toy story characters (mainly around 2), my favourites are Woody, Mr. Potato head, Mrs. Potato head, the robot, slinky dog, the three aliens, Rex, Hamm, Jessie, Bo peep, Lenny the binoculars, evil emperor Zurg, stinky Pete, marionette Woody, barrel of monkeys, Buzz Lightyear, Bullseye, RC the car, etch a sketch, little green army man and tour guide Barbie (mostly because they were the ones together as McDonalds toys from 1999 (with the potato heads together as one and one alien shown instead of three) which is why they’re now all my favourite from toy story 2).
Either version of the Toy Story Collection Buzz Lightyear figures, the regular Andy’s Buzz or the Toy Story 2 “Buzz 2.0” utility belt variant, is one of those most wanted rare and expensive toys I wanted since I was a kid and could never have either bc stocks were running low in retail or my parents were being asses to me by not getting the Buzz for me citing stupid reasons such as grades or socializing with friends. While I have grown out of gimmicky toys in favor of articulation and detail for photography, I still would love to get either of the Collection Buzzes one day hopefully in best condition possible
Everything I have I earned myself. I bought my own toys with my own money, I don’t rely on anyone to do that for me. I also am an adult and I went to college and got a real job for a while. If you work hard, dream big, put your mind to it, never give up, you can accomplish anything and make impossible into possible and that’s how dreams come true.

I am currently a senior at college and about to graduate, hoping to find a real job to fulfill this childhood target one day. Jetpack liftoff buzz is a 50 dollar basic 12 inch figure with minimal details but has a really awesome feature that “justifies” the price. Honestly I think Mattel really is gouging prices cause of economy stuff but it’s still pretty wack for the consumer to buy new gen buzz and get a much worse figure. The only 50 dollars that needs to be spent on new gen buzz is probably the sh figuarts as it’s really great looking and it has the lightyear sticker FINALLY

Mattel sucks, don't know why pixar didn't extend Thinkway's License especially when all the big toy companies like Hasbro and mattel backed off from making Toy story toys back in 1995 while Thinkway took all risk to deliver quality toys to the fans.

Yes sometimes toys from the factory come with some defects.. hard to get perfect every time. Especially since thinkway toys made millions of these toys over the years.
Think way did a much better job then the Mattel one the think way one is more accurate and 2 things Mattel did better is steam comes out of the jet pack and new voicelines

If thinkway make 2022 Buzz lightyear, they will put some more features(laser, retractable helmet, communicator).
I don’t think toy companies will do this but maybe in the future. I feel Buzz is more like a robot.
