I purchased this F-22 with a JetCat P-20 with the purpose of swapping turbines, but I had to fly it the way it was first. And even though it is super UNDERPOWERED, when its in the air its fun to fly it somewhat scale! I will be putting this P-20 in a smaller plane soon as well as upgraded the turbine in this F-22!

The slow speed makes it look real.
A real jet in the distance looks SMALL and SLOW.

It does sound amazing. That's because the P-20 is a crazy high RPM Turbine. The video doesn't even do it justice. The camera loses some of the sound.

It flies fine on a p-20 in the tail without the bifurcated pipe. You loose 30% of the static thrust through that type of pipe. Mine flew identical to the 90mm edf when the engine was all the way in the back. It just flew for 7 minutes vs 3 as an edf

Agree, I had similar issue in F-18 when I had split exhaust. But when I made one between originals, she flies like a charm.
awesome save there Jay! wish you many happy flights with K45, it will push it muuuch better and you wont have to fly it at 100% all time, 40% will be ok.

@1:15 XT60 connector has loose wires, so no bad battery but bad connector that shorted out while doing roll
The government should make some big foam ones so the enemy can waste their mpads on them.
Well foam does not produce enough heat and by no chance foam can fly that high to confuse the enemy
@@raghav457 Dog! Is the foam making the heat or is the jet engine making the heat? Why couldn't a foam plane fly high?
@@manuelpiston well by heat I meant to confuse the heat seeking radars and styrofoam isn't strong enough to handle even moderate speed,you can see what happens to you RC jets they break mid air due to speed

We did that already during WW2
Recommendation: Change throttlle trim settings to "3 pos switch". Game changer!

Needs more powerful turbine. P20 puts out 2400 grams and EDF is 3400grams.However turbine much better sound and flight time! Going to Kingtech K45 will be rippin!

Plane was further away from me than it looked. Was hard to tell where my flare was. I smashed hard but the plane was fine surprisingly

Simple to operate, but confusing as hell to set up!
Make it just a single thrust tube it will be faster

Nice flight by the way jetcat p20 is over priced ?? $2700 an all the price 5 pounds of thrust. King tech is better than jetcat, k45 king tech puts out 10pounds of thrust at $1700 dollars. Is more suitable for your F22
I actually have a K45 in the F22 now! Still need to make the video. The P20 was in a Avanti that caught fire. It’s out for service. I may put it in a new Avanti.

Sounds Kool but that's about it.... Electric is the way to go just need some genius to figure out battery life..
