Whether you win or lose why not just increase your bet by one unit until you reach your goal of 1 unit. This combines a positive and negative betting system at the same time. Start out at 1-1. Left is your goal, right is your bet. Lose 3 in a row, 2-2, 4-3,7-4. Add your loss to the number on the left. Win, subtract bet from goal, 3-3. Lose, 6-4. Win, 2-2. Lose, 4-3. Win, 1-1. When left and right are the same and you win, you have reached your goal. I play this system all the time (albiet on the computer) with great success. Try starting at 10-1. I have never seen anyone analyze this system.

Actually, I am interested in the risk ratio. For example; in Roulette there are 37 numbers. If I cover 24 numbers, I expect I have better than 50% odds. So a betting system might be tailored to suit that situation. I hope you get my. Point.

I saw another explanation of this system where you think about your bets as "strings." As soon as you've reached a profitable string, you start a new string from scratch. Found it on here after searching Oscar's grind. The video used some more realistic numbers to sit down with too, and I don't think their goal for the day was the same as their initial bet.

As a game is played so does the variance as your bankroll becomes a binomial distribution. This means that a n approaches infinity the limit of the variance will npq will increase which then will slowly converge to the size of your bankroll to where it cannot handle the possible losing streak. That is why you don't use a large enough amount of your bankroll with this strategy. The only strategy that would possibly work would be related to manipulating the bets against the variance but that is significantly improbable. There is likely a formula for how long you should play with this strategy. I am too lazy to write it because a lot of people focus on optimal amounts of your bankroll but there is an optimal number of bets to bet given the allocation. I am just to lazy to come up with it. It is a great model though but if you use allocation % of your bankroll, you will have a bad time.

The Best way I've found to use Oscar's Grind is not EVEN money OUTSIDE bets in Roulette. The best way is to play (2) corner bets (Square Box Bets) in each of the (3) Dozens for a total of (6) units. Also, I prefer to play this way at casinos that have hybrid games (Real Wheel and Dealers) but player sits at an electronic touch-screen that has the ability to save favorite bets or repeat last bet and track my balance.
Hello sir. I know this video is a few years old but there’s a betting system I use for blackjack that has done descent for me. So you call for betting systems so I explain mine that I use. But first I want to say I want to do it with deviations illustrious 18 on single and double decks. But with basic strategy only I did ok. I named it the best of 10. It’s just that play best of ten hands in negative profession by 1 unit after the ten hands are complete. 2nd ten hands if your in loss after first ten will be 2 units but at any point you get 1 unit in the hood drop down to the 1 unit then complete the ten at that unit. After the 10th hand and you are at least 1 unit in the good then you win and repeat. Up to 5 unit max to control risk. If you end up say 5 units and your down 4 units but you win a double down on hand 4 next hand go to 4 units. Next hand pushes stay at 4 next hand wins drop to 3. Wherever your at when 10th hand is complete is done if your ahead and increase by 1 unit for next ten hands if your down. Loss will happen after complete 10 hands at the 5 unit bet. There are variations I play but that’s most of it. Conservative is to end it after you get 1 unit in the good and aggressive would be no drop downs so as to complete the 10 hands on the unit bet your at. But really for anything to work it would need to know deviations alone can overtake house edge on single or double because I do understand that in long run gotta overtake house edge flat betting before win in progressions. But like I said it has worked well for me except in situations where I lose like 45 out 50 hands in which it’s better to just stop playing.
One BIG thing that isn't being taken into account with ANY betting system. Since they all rely on your beer increasing at certain times, what happens when you reach the table max? In BJ for example if I'm playing at a $5 minimum table, the max will be usually somewhere around 50 to 60 times the minimum which is easily exceeded quickly with most of these systems.

Everybody who uses a progressive betting system just thinks they will win before they hit the table limit, despite it being statistically certain that they will hit a losing run that takes them over. The really stupid thing with these systems is that you are only ever trying to win one betting unit no matter how much money you put on the table.

Because 99% of the time with this method you will arrive at a positive result. So what would be more accurate is to say “you can’t infinitely add together a negative string of numbers and get a positive result.”
