Dave, you are so GOOD at identifying real life ‘things’, just like particulars that the guy in the vid is focusing on, and relating it to general cognition function theory. I really enjoy your examples and deep insights.

I’ve noticed that when I’m in a really bad place in life, there’s almost nothing I can do to make myself feel better.
But one morning I’ll just wake up and be okay again, pull myself back together and get on with life.
It’s eerie how suddenly and without warning I can just, snap out of it.

Yeah, I usually try to consciously write down notes on my phone, and take stock of all the little emotional triggers that happen throughout a day that caused negative emotions. Like a coworker is venting too much, my mother in law says some outlandish nonsense, or my car battery dies unexpectedly.
Right now I separate myself from my emotions on a fairly consistent basis, because the emotions always go away. They always do, and I have written proof on my phone. At this point I can even enjoy certain negative emotions, because I just know they are going to pass away, and I might as well live with them even if they aren't my favorite. I think it's called acceptance or something 🤷‍♂️
Anyway, just thought I'd add my five cents.

Hahahahaha, I work with an ISTJ and every day, every day I fall over my EXXP self and f myself over. Meanwhile, she’s four years younger then me, been in our position for 6 years and wants to like ice pick her frontal lobe daily since our job has all of the usual annoying stuff to do to get any traction. Gosh I love the nursing field and the military. Basically, they are the fastest ways to suck it up and get moving and face all of life and it’s stuff. Love this type!!

OMG, it finally occurred to me that I am in fact an ISTJ, for the longest trime of understanding the functions and putting into place where I actually am, this vid puts an end to it all. The fact that I was slow in my progress of finding my Personality until the end is also definitely an SI of me 😂😂😂. Finally, I was bouncing around if I was INFP(Fi dom), ISTP( I thought I was TI dom wtf), ISFJ (Si but woth Fe cause "I care for the tribe") 😂 and look at me giving y'all the details of my journey 😂 I finally see my own SI working in real time on the way I talk, this is amazing!
When Dave talked about how this person is going into detail more than what the big picture is truly hit me, I am him (Demon NE "this happens to you too!?" 😂) Im so amazed how my functions is showing the way I talk!
Anyway 😂 I relate so much to hin, I think I will fuck up everything if I didn't do this important detail, like how he needs to position his foot, the sling 😂 I get frustrated when people dont tell the most important detail on a task, like why are you giving me the big picture what if I encounter a detail that will fuck me up? Give me a step by step manual on every detail so I know what to do so I dont fuck up 😂.

It is because he sees it so clearly now that he is older. And he wants so badly for others to see it too. Unfortunately, you can't really help people understand these life lessons through a quick RUclips video. They will have to experience the suffering for themselves to learn that lesson over their life time.

Thanks Dave for this video. At times when I start a sewing project I have to force myself to sit down and go and go over the little things and details (consume) of it because I wanna go through the thing asap and THAT screwed me over many times. Yes as an ISFJ I'm a blast first I think. Blasters gonna blast haha. Still working on getting better at preparing and Consume lol.

Wax on. wax off. You know what you have to do but then suddenly These things go deep into the memory and become repressed and you forget the next day, over and over again, in a cycle. Repeat. It makes me feel dumb when they pop up again. The mind represses them automatically as a sort of ancient defense mechanism. It’s an addiction cycle that starts with our addiction to saviors. Dave says to keep a journal and track what is happening.

Okay but I'm a single decider so my life's problems have nothing to do with getting my strap on the wrong way. I do the basic S stuff insofar as I can't get away with negligence, and then intuit my way through any issues that I wasn't prepared for. My actual constantly repeating problem is that my life's purpose involves needing to have other people in my life but I'm virtually living my life on my own and completely clueless about how to involve others. It's not some gun strap that will get me killed. It's the fact that I'm fighting 100 men by myself.

@@blankifyme Take initiative and ask them to take part in something you want to do. If it's a person worth your time, they'll at least make an effort
And try not to take it personal if they don't involve themselves in your life without being asked, they may just have a blind spot in that area. In which case, honesty is key, let them know how you feel
And if it goes wrong, you'll have learned a valuable lesson, and you won't have wasted any more of your time on a leech

Never personally talked to an INFJ (at least one where I know for sure they are not mistyped) but the ones that I've seen in interviews and videos make a very pleasant impression, yes. I kinda feel similar to them in alot of ways but the Fe-Ti is where I usually think "huh, fascinating", since it's slightly different from my own priorities. Not sure how we would get along in an actual conversation though. May I ask - why that question?

@@broadbandtogod Nawww, that's nice! I think maturity levels are super important - also depending on the animals and other factors we can be very different. I talked to another ISTJ who was significantly different despite us both being SiTe since they are an IXXJ/IXXP while I am an IXXJ/EXXJ lol.
Maybe someone else will answer too but at least when it comes to INTJs they are some of my favorite people to be around (especially NiFis). So I assume it might be similar enough with you guys, at least with NiFe! Something about that IXXJ NF is really pleasant to me.

I think that this is Ni and Ti. He is responsible for Ni - to tell others how to deal with a situation. Responsibility of Si is to report their actual physical observations of problematic situations and then expect Ni to provide solutions. He speaks as if he knows what his opponent will see - because that is Se - listening to observations of other people. And he is Fe - his own emotional development is responsibility of somebody else. That is why he speaks about developing his internal hierarchy of values as some sort of revelation. Fi people do it since childhood. Because they consider it their responsibility.
