  • First time running a QD-14 with remote controls. It does nicely for a 10hp on this rig. The controls worked great.

Don’t know if you’ve ever ran A Suzuki before but they’re very smooth. Got to run one last year 15 horse oil, injected two stroke very smooth at the top end. Could easily push three of us 22mph on a 14 v hull boat

@@LL.bean123 I have never run one, but I have heard good things about them. 22mph with three in the boat is great performance out of a 15hp. Thanks for watching!

Son! My oh my, that QD will run. What a great old "flat-back 10". Thank you.

Yessir! This old 10 is a sweet runner. I believe this motor has very little time on it and it was Impeccably cared for by its original owner before someone ended up clearing out their belongings and deposited this beautiful motor in the trash. I feel very fortunate to have been able to add it to my collection. It's a pleasure to run. Thanks for watching!

Strong pulller, nothing like vintage power

Mine is a QD-15 but I sure like the older design. What a powerful runner! And someone tried to throw it away, shame. Good job keeping these alive.

The QD-15 is a '54 and is the first year for the "up and off" hinged cowl. It's the second and final year for the Seahorse cast into the midsection. Great motors. Thanks for watching!

Good Sunday afternoon Ben! Wow! For a 1953 Johnson 10 she is definitely torquey! At 19 MPH indicated that is nothing but impressive! I remember you sharing that motor one other time. Perfect weather just like here in southeast Iowa today! Storms are due sometime this evening though here. Just plain good running! Enjoy your weekend there! I am here! Mark in Iowa.

Hi Mark! This motor must have very few hours on it. I have every reason to believe the prop is original and it still has most of its paint. It is a very nice example of a '53 QD and I really enjoy this motor. Weather is very nice today here as well. We, too, are looking to see some rain and maybe a storm this afternoon. Thanks for watching!

@@barryblessing Very cool! Get the old girl back together and back on the water. This one is a strong one. They're pretty strong runners. I have two '53s currently running and they're both strong. Good luck woth yours and thanks for watching!

This is certainly a peppy motor for a 10hp. It makes for a nice running little rig on this boat. Thanks for watching!

Another beauty! I have been thinking maybe, to bring my QD 14 to the RD cruise this fall. It hasn't been run in too many years. I am missing the remote control for the motor gearshift. I could just reach around and operate it by hand. Something to look for when I go to tomahawk this summer. Thanks

Thank you. Thus is a really nice example of a QD-14. I have seen those remote gearshift peices show up from time to time at Constantine and Tomahawk meets. Certainly something to watch for. I may have one floating around here somewhere. I'll let you know if I find one. You should get it out for the cruise. Thanks for watching!

    Nice Job👍
Kind of wonder how much Chinese Junk from Skamazon will be working like this engine in 70+ years

Thank you! Yeah, I have to imagine there will not be nearly as much of today's stuff around and working flawlessly in 70+ years as there is stuff today from 70+ years ago that is still working flawlessly even if to make it that way takes a little work sometimes. Thanks for watching!

If only the human body was built as well as these old motors. I can't believe that baby was rescued from a dumpster.

    • @oldjohnnyrude8404
      @oldjohnnyrude8404  4 месяца назад +1

In defense of the human body, if this motor ran non-stop since 1953, it would be a lot more tired too. That said, this motor is in fantastic condition and for something created 71 years ago and in that sense, you're 💯 correct. Thanks for watching!
