Not only do you HEAR a "real" bassist, you can see his fingers on a shot midway through this video. I too noticed it immediately considering Steppenwolf has depended on their keyboardist to handle the bass chores for the 20 years mentioned. This is the second time I've seen the band using a bassist in a recent concert. Maybe the Wolf will bring the bass back into the fold. Where it belongs.
The lyrics he sings are timeless. For 50 years I cry when I hear these words.

It's interesting to hear how John Kay's voice has changed. Not as subtle as before but still quite expressive.
I really dislike his voice in this :S He sounds like he's trying to be more bluesy. Just make your pacing consistent. It's okay to sound rehearsed.
