My grandmother's first car was a 69 Camaro RS one of the rarest Camaros now. Her older sister totaled it(shes okay) but my grandmother misses her Camaro so much id love to buy her another 69 camaro
The commercial debuted in September 1968, at the start of the 1969 model year. As I posted above, there was a radio commercial that contained the "putting you first, keeps us first" line you mentioned above!
It was! My grandparents bought a new 69 Impala. 350. Tubo-Fire. 396 and 454 were Tubo-Jet. That Impala was nice and moved fast. They always paid cash for their cars. Never any problems. They owned and worked a farm. Plus, my grandfather built Holiday Inns. My grandmother worked in a factory making car door locks for GM. She told us that she had metal shavens in her fingers. Never complained. They were great Christian grandparents who instilled hard work and Christian values. A tractor was never started on Sunday. It was family day. The farm is still in our family. I was still in bed, but heard my grandfather gives thanks at breakfast. I was down the hall. He started his prayer. Kind father. I can still hear his voice 50 years later. There house burned down in 84. My grandfather was 70. Lost 50 year's of things. He praised God no one was hurt. He had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He and his farm buddies and colleagues. Pitched in. Rebuild the house. Finish it in 85. He passed in 1987. From the Lymphoma. All the spraying of crops wirh poisoning. I worked the farm too. I am a 23 year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. They have come light years in treatment. I spent my career in the Pharmaceutical business. I don't know why I shared all this on a car ad. It just came out. My best to all.
@@williamflack5767 Thank you! I am just glad to see that there are other people are on the same wavelength! The cars that people drive now, are nothing like the cars that we drove. They have no idea what they are missing! Decades ago, it was "Happy Motoring" those days ae gone for good. Nowadays, it's just back and forth. Nothing like it used to be. Please reply. Dave...
@MS-dx6yz Man..wow..these chrome bumpers are rising in prices. Never sell it. To me, it's gotta be in the top ten most beautiful cars that has rolled out of GM. Keep it original.
They gave up on the Corvair shortly after the Ford Mustang was introduced. In April 1965--long before "Unsafe at Any Speed" was published--GM officials ordered no further development work be done on the Corvair except to keep it in line with government safety standards.
My Dad bought a 68 Camaro new in 69 I was almost 5yrs old we waited till they took the whitewash off the windows of the dealership to see what the New 69s looked like & to get a better deal on the 68 ! We kept that car till December of 78 & we moved 1200 miles away & my Dad bought a new gmc jimmy & couldn't tow the car with us because it would void the warranty because it didn't have the break-in miles on it, So he sold it for $600 to someone he knew . I'll never forget those days!
I have a new Corvette on order....I'm no. 8 on the waiting list at my local dealer. Just a minor correction on terminology, in relation to the word Manufacturer, General Motors is the Manufacturer of the Corvette, GM is the Manufacturer, Cheverolet is the Brand and Corvette is the model name...and with in the model name, there is the sub model named Stingray. :O)
Yes, the 69 Corvair brochure wasn't even available at the dealer's, you had to "special request" one. Chevy built 6,000 Corvairs in 1969, and never advertised them. Most Corvairs were built by hand in a special corner of the Willow Run assembly plant. Corvair production forever ended on May 14, 1969. There are a surprisingly large number of 1969 Corvair survivors, some with less than 10,000 miles on them today.
These are absolutely gorgeous cars, the peak of car design, period.🇺🇸👍

I'd like to see the 1968 version, where the ad ended with, "Putting you first, keeps us first. Chevrolet, a groovy way, to see the U.S.A."

ahhh the heyday of American car manufacturers with a surplus of factory jobs
I am 63 years old. They don't make em like that anymore! What a time period for the automobile industry! Please respond. Dave...

Lucky enough to have a 69 Corvette. Fun car still. 👍👍
Very good
The song is catchy 😄
I'm not a GM fan, but that Chevys are totally worthy
Last year for the Corvair ,sad they did not show one.
The Corvette is my choice.
In fact, Corvette is my official favorite manufacturer. 💪🌟😎

Chevy rules
All real car's
If this is not the 5th Dimension, it's a pretty good imitation.
It is the Fifth Dimension, since they used a similar-sounding version as a radio commercial at the start of the 1969 model year
@@gcfifthgear Yes they must be. At 0:12 it's Marilyn McCoo and at 0:40 it's Billy Davis jr.. Distinctive voices.
It is. Here they are for Impala
