Dr. Bob, ,good stuff, and I agree with Dan McClellan's interpretation of Gen 1:1 being 'In the beginning of God creating the heavens and the earth, the earth was (already) formless and void...', meaning that what God used to shape the earth was already in existence. Much like how God created man from the preexisting dust of the ground which was in a state of chaos until God made it into a shape.
I also see in Genesis the idea of the 'logos' or the creative Word. "God 'said' let there be light", and there was light. He spoke it into existence, like the Demiurge concept contained in John 1:1. Of course, Philo of Alexandria had already used the idea of the 'logos' as a demiurge or creative force prior to the writing of the gospel of John and it's likely the author of John borrowed the idea of a creative 'logos' from Philo, given that Philo lived until about 50 AD and was located close to Israel in Alexandria, prior to the writing of John. Even then, the logos in Greek rhetorical circles dates back to Plato who died in 346 BC, which makes me wonder if his idea of a creative Logos/Word crept into exiled Jewish thought that eventually found its way into exiled Jewish thought/philosophy/theology.
Thanks for the good show and for keeping them brief. Your content is outstanding and yet accessible and I hope your channel continues to drow...

Yeah, ancient Isreal did alter alot. One key important mistake they made was the creation of man. Little did they know, man's creator is actually the source of one of the most fundamental weakness of man, also called depravity.
There are other problems such as demons, other gods etc.
But in the end, the most high himself became man to save man espicially from the 2nd death.
