Love the new Equinox 700 and 900, both machines are built like tanks, this is want everyone has been asking for.

A few questions, which is better manually ground or auto ground tracking, OR do both. Also with noise cancelling do i need to hold detector at waist height as shown in other videos. THANKS

So hard getting used to. I have an old quick draw 2 100$ detector from when i was a kid, used it at my property and found a bunch of coins and a war button in about an hour. Just went hunting with my 900 i just got for a few hours and it just goes crazy everywhere. Didn't find a single cent just tons of trash! Idk what to do with this thing feel like i wasted my money on this junk

A good tradesman does not blame their tools! An Equinox 900 has a lot more technology and rnd behind it than a $100 machine, thus it requires some learning. Be patient, read the manual, watch youtube how-to videos and give yourself some time to learn the machine before declaring it junk ;)

my tip would be to put everything back to factory preset to start with- next would be to turn the sensitivity down a fair bit then perform a noise cancel- this will eliminate excess chatter from any electronic interference and dull down the response from tiny trash targets. Then grab some common coins and pass each over the coil a few times to see what target numbers come up- one of the best learning exercises i recommend is to pick 1 type of coin, and go for a hunt digging only the target id numbers for it. This will help immensely with your confidence and get you used to things quickly. When deciding what to dig, look for stable targets who's id numbers don't vary much- most times if you have a target whos id numbers jump around wildly it will be a piece of trash with a ragged shape or surface area. Things like coins and buttons have a very uniform shape and surface area so their id numbers will be nice and stable.

@MinersDenAustralia I'll give that sensitivity a try! Everyone online is running as high as they can go without chatter, I live in the middle of the woods and ran it stable all the way up but there is tons of little bits of nails and trash and it was so hard to get a solid tone with all the extra junk targets. Thinking about giving the small coil a try as well but really want to get comfortable as is before messing with too much so I'll have a good baseline. Thanks for the tips

Hi👋🏼Etienne here from South Africa. Q:are there wireless earphones available that will connect to my Equinox900 and iphone simultaneously? The box only comes with ML85 headphones which does not support connecting a phone simultaneously, however when I Google the older(?) ML80 headphones operation manual it seems that those can very well connect to your phone too, making it possible to have both devices' audio available

Hi Etienne, unfortunately with bluetooth being phased out soon (apparently), Minelab have gone with their own wireless technology for the 900 and Manticore which means they are not compatible with your phone

this is the equinox 900 , its in stock , the model you are thinking of may be the Manticore, launched but only in a small amount.
