  • Could you put out 484 watts? Could you hold that power for 5 minutes plus a huge sprint? Paul Manginer produced these wild power numbers on the bike during the Challenge Mallorca stage, Trofeo Ses Salines-Felanitx. This was the young French cyclist's debut with Soudal - Quickstep and boy did he deliver.       pfffttt nothing... you should check out some of the ultra-elite amateur 'athletes' on Zwift doing 700W average endurance rides 🤣🤣

      I'd be amazed if I could hold 484w for a minute let alone 5! And zero chance of a sprint at the end of it :-)

      @@n22pdf i haven't found a good alternative for Canada ('cause FloBikes is way too much for what it offers, especially considering it doesn't have all the Spring Classics anyway)

    Finally, the road race begins!
    I can't wait to see the classics, the battle of the world champion Van Der Poel and Van Aert. The Tour de France, where all cycling stars will compete - Pogacar, Vingegaard, Evenepoel, Roglic. It's going to be a great season 👍🏼

    As an American, it's sad to see Dombrowski leave the pro peloton, what a great career he's had. As for the Giro this year, I can't wait to see what kinda challenge Thomas will bring Pogacar for the pink jersey.

      @@gcnracing G is one of my favorite racers, but I do not see how he can beat Pogacar. It will be interesting to see if Ineos can play the team game to the same effect that Jumbo has in the past.

    484W for 5 minutes is around 6.9W/Kg for 70kg, that's what is needed to be a world tour rider.

      There’s some world tour riders who can do over 500W for 10 minutes.

      ​@@discbrakefan yes for 5min Pogacar and Vingegaard are around 550w for 70kg reference, for 10 minutes the best performance of Vingegaard is just around 500w for 70kg (he weights 60kg).

    I’m really missing the GCN+ coverage! Does anyone know where I can get the same level of coverage in Asia? Is Eurosport filling the gap and is anyone managing to view it with a VPN?

    The pros are not normal. In my last VO2max session, I went all in on the last 30s interval (2x14) and was pretty proud to get 521W. Just nothing in comparison. 🤯

    I’ll be honest, I have no idea what’s happen with cycling this year due to the absence of international race coverage into Australia. Sadly, I’ve definitely have lost interest in this sport and the cycling tourism I’ve enjoyed over the past few year’s

      Thanks for the updated link, GCN! But oof, in the US you have to get Max in order to get cycling for $9.99 + $9.99. I can’t pay $20 per month for races. Guess WB traded my $50 for $0. $9.99 a month I would have done.

    If he used a Shimano Powermeter, the real number was probably more like 450 Watts.
