Very good. You are fantastic. Congratulations, everything is done as it should be and you still have the job of making a pdf and a link with the materials. You're the best !!!!!! Thanks for everything
Thank you very much man. I'd also like to mention that the A4 has a hidden tool in the area beside the steering wheel, that allows you to manually wind your roof closed in case of electrical failure. You have to open the compartment in the back seat, pull out some ski cover thing that I don't know it's use. Wind the roof to a point, lower it, then go in the front seat and take out a rectangle of plastic in the roof near the rear view mirror and wind it closed with the tool. Just saved my bacon tonight 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I was able to clean the commutator and reinstall. Works great lasts along time, I hope. Hold assembly vertical in trunk motor up, rags undernieth. Remove power to motor and unbolt torx screws. You will get some oil spill when separated. Remove motor, keeping pump assembly vertical. Remove power connector from pump bracket. In a clean place unbolt two long cap bolts the pull Bell housing off rotor. The commentator is where the brushes ride. Sand 400 grit until shiny copper then spray contact cleaner and make sure brushes move smoothly. Then reassemble and reinstall.
The fix lasted a year and oil seeping from pump seal contaminated the commutator again. I am sending pump & motor out for rebuild. The motor is just a symptom of a worn pump seal.
It is actually rare for the motor to go bad. Take it to an audi dealership and the bill will be approximately $2,700. They will want to replace the entire assy and the sensor. Most of the time it is low hydraulic fluid. $12 for Audi fluid. Audi will not tell you it is low fluid.
Thats a great video, will have a go this afternoon. Plan for now is to start by putting a voltmeter across the motor cables to ensure the car is trying to run the motor... If voltage is there then I will know the motor is definitely bad and I will then buy the replacement. Don’t forget to ensure those grounds are re connected and your boot storage lever is in the right position.
Great video. Side trim removal at the beginning, you mention that "up here there's another little plug you've got to remove". Your hand goes in and I hear a click, but then the video jumps ..is it a DC connection or just a clip holding the trim please?
Everyone saying they miss SEB Everyone misses seb but it will make people sad to keep knowing that he is no longer here I mean it's not bad but try not to do it too much cause it's really sad but yes everyone misses seb (P.S cool video dude just joined the channel off of the sad sad video)
Hi, first of all thank you for your very useful video to understand the problem of the hood. Unfortunately, replacing the engine did not solve the problem. I bought the engine and it arrived very quickly. Purchase and delivery, all perfect. I mounted the new piece but the hood opens a few centimeters but the rear hood does not open to accommodate it and she does not bend down to get inside. Looking at the hood pistons, I realized that there is one that is leaking liquid, I think it is oil. Is it possible that the problem is that and that the hood is blocked by a sensor that stops the movement?
Did u put some hydraulic oil after using the 13mm to open screw from reservoir? It’s just I see u pouring something but u don’t say what exactly that u poured into it?
Sir I have a4 cabriolet 2006 and the roof top is burning the fuse do you if there is any solution for it Or how and from where can I get a good roof pump Thank you

Hello, and then, where is the alarm in your cabriolet???
Hey mate , Can you test the motor without pulling it? How? With a voltage meter ? Where do you put it and asap please. My top wont go down but i thinks its more to do with the tray assembly so help please
One part is missing, you only showed installing the new motor. I there a seal to the oil ? Where and how did you loose some oil? How wet get the air out of the system, is something is not right if we loose even more oil? Thx!
I am not by any means an expert in this area, I created this video as a bit of a side project/hobby as I found it difficult to find this information online. It's not unreasonable to miss comment notifications from time to time so I would hope the video in isolation remains being helpful and not warrant being deleted due to not responding to a question. My two cents worth since you shared yours.
Aiden Davis I just saw the video I cried when the music started playing I am 2 years late but he is riding in paradise man hopefully with other riders :,)
Are you insane? You are trying to impress the RUclipsRS out there with your "Show-off tear-down"....which is total BS & unnecessary. Just add hydraulic fluid folks....and don't even try to disassemble your trunk. You will be sorry, as you end up ruining your top.
1. No, not insane 2. Not impressing anyone, simply sharing information to others that I personally found useful 3. Tried the fluid and it didn’t fix the problem, noticed the brushes in motor weren’t working so tried this as the next best option 4. Four years later and the roof is still going strong... best thing I ever did so I am not sorry :)
Thank you so so much!! You helped me save so much money and gave me the confidence to fix this myself! 😁💪 This USA girl is grateful.

Hey mate, I did more of a visual test before pulling it out and noticed the brushes were damaged, this is what led me to pulling it out in the end
What do u do if u do hear the motor working ??!!?!?!????÷

No answer from that guy. Such videos should be deleted

hi does any one know the fuse location for the roof cheers
How do u know if the motor is bad & if a person just needs to refill the oil tank ??!!!!?!?!?!?!??!!
bLu you fill the oil first, if that didn’t fit it then do this process. Our motor brushes were damaged
Mi 7 lle q111
That's the problem! The steering wheel is on the wrong side!
Haha! Right hand drive for us Aussies...
Thanks, is the motor good for any Audi, mine is an Audi A4 2004 Cabriolet, also is the reservoir comes with the motor?
The motor was sold separately and bolts onto the reservoir
Hello. Do you know exactly what type of oil to fill with?
Hydraulic fluid
What type just any Audi hydraulic fluid?
Rip Sebastian :(
waiting for your response
Where did you buy your new motor from?
I posted the link in the description of the video
What year is the car. Does it work in a 2008??
2007, can't be sure about the feasibility of other models without doing some research
I miss Sebastian
