Just watched this video to see how to fix my pump and at 2:57 in the video you check the fuse. I think to myself, hang on, that's not the fuse I checked as a first check. Checked the same fuse you did and it looked OK. Put it back in the fuse box but changed it over with another 50 amp and I now have a fully working roof. Thanks man.
Can you please show a photo of your fuse box and which fuse you changed ? I have same problem with EOS 2008. In tha position i have a 50amp fuse instead of 40 shown in this video can you please post a pic ?
I bought my 2012 EOS from CarMax here in Florida in America, a little over a month ago, they sell so fast here I bought it then had them fix the issue. Everything worked great, roof went all the way back and into the trunk, but the trunk door did not close - the very last step in the process. CarMax couldn't fix it so they took it to the local Volkswagen dealership, and after a month of angst, I have it back and works great. Luckily, it was under warranty so didn't cost me anything, all I know is they had to order parts, so was possibly mechanical. Props for trying to fix this yourself!
your videos are a godsend. thank you! i’ve tested the motor and it’s fine. my problem is not covered in any of your videos: is there a sensor that confirms the boot is open so it can go to the next step in the sequence? my rear glass folds up on top, the side ’wings’ open and the boot lid swings out. i can hear the motor continue to spin but nothing more happens. the dash shows ‘boot lid swings out!’ as it normally does and no other error codes or indications. but that’s as far as it goes. i can then close the top and everything moves back in to place and it confirms top is closed, so i’m able to drive it……
I have a 2007 eos 15 years now. Is it recommend to change the hydraulic fluid of the roof motor as a precaution for failure? So far I have no issues just thinking.
Great video, I probably need to change mine out, someone rear ended me and the truck was stuck open for about a year. Water got in the boot and soaked the motor, which is now corroded.
i guess im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Raphael Branson thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hello i have similar problem. My sunroof opens a bit like yours then stuck like yours but i get a different message on dash it says System fault convertible top! Workshop. Can this be the same problem ? Do you suggest i change fuse first to see ?
Hi do you know how to fix the roof on my eos that won't work because of the motor in the trunk that I thought wasn't working, but when we checked it it shows signs of life but doesn't want to close the trunk all the way and the car doesn't know that the trunk is closed or open the fuses are fine everything is roughly inspected basic do you know what it could be. In the trunk, the lights also do not recognize whether the trunk is open or not, and now I use the trunk as in the most common golf 5, because the soft closing will not work, and therefore the roof does not know whether the trunk is open or closed
Would it not be prudent to wrap the electric motor with plastic (the self klinging type) to make it waterproof? I'm asking because I just bought an Eos myself.
hi have you ever changed the control module for the roof and do you know where it is situated also does it need coding to the car or will plug and play .
No I’ve never had to change out the roof module. Location of this module is in the boot under the lining on the side. In order to get at it you need to remove the lining.
good evening ... I wanted to ask for information. does the engine pump in this video also operate the upper roof? because my roof struggles to slide and has ruined the inner nylon washer of the motor that was under the sky. if you have any answers thank you.
I think you mean the sun roof? Answer is no, the sunroof works from an electric motor in the roof just under the lining. Lack of lubricant can cause this to slog out the gear.
Hey Dave, My top won’t go down. The sunroof goes all the back and I hear the motor pump working but then I get an error on the display and everything stops. The rear deck doesn’t even come up or move, the sunroof is the only thing that will move. I checked the pump, it does run when hooked up to 12v battery. I also did resistance check the solenoids with ohms meter, I got 9.8 ohms on the display for each one. There is some slight water damage but not too horrible. Any Idea what it could be? I do have VCDS
Greetings Dave, my convertible roof only opens when I've just started the car (cold start, and even so it opens very slow to a point that sometimes when I closed it back it doesn't even want to move) it's super slow to open and close. What could be the problem? And is there a solution to it?
Closing the roof manually from the partially open position I have done before but when the roof is in the closed position it is locked in place by the two electrically operated C locks that lock both roof members to the A an B pillars. Sounds to me like one of these has not locked in place because of your slightly twisted roof? Hopefully you have not bent or twisted any of the roof components but I suggest you get an authorised VW shop to look at it. It might be just a matter of them running diagnostics and they have the ability to override and activate the different roof opening components. Thanks

@Raphael Branson It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
@Joe Alexzander Glad I could help :)
How much you will charge me to do that I got the motor

Sorry for late reply. I personally wouldn’t do that because there is still risk of trapping moisture.
What motor is specifics
Thank you sir,very helpfull,keep safe.
great job, tq for sharing

@@Kingstoncars1 could you do a video on lubricating this motor?
Cheers mate... Thanks for sharing this video...

its the pump
Do you know where I can find the fuse for either the roof or the roofs motor
Hi, as in this video the main roof fuse is in the fuse box under the bonnet.
Thank you very much!

Hello, I have problems with the roof. How can I contact you?
Where did you buy that??
Need the number for the motor only
hello, can you make a video of manual roof opening? Thanks in advance!
Hi, i just have a question. Why would you want to manually open the roof? I can understand manually closing the roof.
@@Kingstoncars1hi! when i closed the roof it was uneven terrain and the roof lay sloping and now i can't close the sun roof!
the roof button does not respond.
Sorry I have not encountered that problem. Might be a job for VW dealer.
