Why not leave the cable tie alone and connect the syringe to the inlet hole in the rubber seal, an inch or so upstream of the cable tie (like in method one)?
Because downstream of the hole there is a T piece such that you cannot pressurise the blocked drain, the water would take the easiest path. I.E. towards front of vehicle
Had a blocked rear drain, water was backing up. Bought the AK47 and used this method. No more blocked drain. Thank you Vagpro 👍

We use a Sealey AK47 Syringe
