Thank you Stewart, much appreciated.

Great review Mike, many thanks for all your help this year
+Huntsville Houch
Thank you.

+Huntsville Houch
Thank you.

Mike
Thanks for the review, Mike. Other than the filtration capability the most important thing for me is having specs which don't mist over when using a mask. This one seems to fit the bill.
+Alan Simpson
It's an effective solution Alan.
Cheers
Mike
Thanks Mike, I bought a 5 masks for my carpenters. Like the aerodynamic design, and the breathing resistance is unnoticeable. Happy Christmas people
Glad you agree that they are good masks Tommy.
Cheers
Mike
I’m loving mine, had it about a week and find it very comfy.
I also use the 3M 7500 series which has the option of the organic filters, but being small and light it’s good for longer wearing times. Money well spent!
One point, the filters have a shelf life once opened to the air, so storing in the poly bag not only keeps it clean, but also prolongs the filter life once it’s opened.
+Richard Morley
Hi Richard, and thanks for your input mate, and your help with the question below.
Take care
Mike
Great review Mike and a nicely designed mask. P3 is an excellent level of filtration. Cheers, Jim
+Jimson's Stuff
Thank you Jim, it is a good piece of kit mate. Nice you hear from you too.

Thanks for the review Mike.

Mike
Great review Mike, just might have to get one when I come over in May!
+Mark Hampton
Thanks Mark, look forward to meeting you mate :)
Cheers
Mike
Hey Mike, I just bought one of these and it is every bit what you described! Best thing for me is the cool breath in or out. It seals well over my short beard. Thanks
Glad you concur Conejo, and thanks for watching.
Thanks for the information. I will be looking in to a new one after the first of the year.
+james larrimore
My pleasure, and thanks for watching James.

Mike
As always great informational video my friend....thank you 👍🏼😊

Thanks Marc

Mike
Thanks for sharing Mike!
....and thank you for watching Kat.

Mike
Thanks for the review! I’ve tried everything to keep my glasses from fogging up and, I must confess, way too often I go without a mask in favor of being able to see. I’ll give this mask a try!
You won't suffer with fogging with this unit, I assure you.
Cheers
Mike
Thanks Mike. I’ve been looking for a non soggy mask. I had one that made me look like Darth Farter, but it steamed up my head gear. Whilst my extraction and filtration is pretty good now I do like the reassurance of a mask when there’s a lot of dust. Cheers, Mate, very timely. Regards Graham
+Graham Light
Hi Graham, glad you found it of interest.

Mike
FINALLY!!! Mike, you just reviewed a product that I won't be coveting! This is a first, I'm sure! I have the Trend Airshield Pro, which I like a lot, so I won't have to beg SWMBO for this mask for Christmas. Oh well, so many other things to beg for!!! ;-) Great review, Mike! I'm sure the people at Trend will be very pleased. Hope they can keep up with the demand that you are bound to generate.
Take care, my friend,
.....Gord
LOLOL Gord, funnily enough I'll be doing an overview of the Airshield in my next video :)
Take care
Mike
Nice mask and a great demonstration, thanks for that.
Thanks Biggles
Cheers
Mike
Thanks for that Mike, what is it like to wear for a while? Also field of view do you find that you need to dip your chin lower to see over the top of it? I have had another half mask before that made my neck ache badly from angling my head more forward to see over it.
I bought the cambridge mask and that is ultra comfy apart from a slight pull at the back of my tabs which is to be expected or it would just fall off ;) , the cambridge mask I am a little dismayed though as I dropped it once, the filter cap came off and the filter is an ultra thin disc, the casing it sits in just seems to be held in by a thin cotton rim cut in the cloth with possibly a hole punch, not even stitched to strengthen so it looks like Ill be replacing it, just wondering how it feels wearing for a while.
Hi Mark, as I said in the video, this type of mask is not suited to us "beardies", as it relies on a good tight seal around the face to be fully effective. That is why a powered respirator is the best solution, as they create positive pressure and are not reliant on a seal to achieve their effectiveness.
Cheers
Mike
Mike Waldt cheers fella I've recently got the shears out and lopped it all off ;) now its so cold im feeling the effects! , bad sinuses and a cold made my tash the same solidity as a sanding sealed severe torn end grain section of spalted poplar.. if there is such a thing as spalted poplar but I can imagine ;)
I wanted to keep the beard but having a shaggy beard and a smooth top lip looks a bad attempt at an emo fashion statement so it all had to go :/
Speaking of your beard, what filtration levels is it rated for? :)
+Peter Wilhelmsson
Lol...about 30 microns Peter ;)
Cheers
Mike
I like the look of this, Mike. I've had one of Trend's AirAce respirators for well over a decade now and have always liked it and never found it to fog my glasses up. But the new one appears to be more compact and, perhaps, easier to clean.
I've worn 3M masks and find it a bit odd where the instructions clearly state that one 'should not' wear this mask if they have a beard... I would've expected them to simply warn that facial hair would affect the seal, as you have done.
All the best to you.
+Olly Parry-Jones
Hi Olly, it is a good solution for sure, and totalky agree with your comment re the beard ;)
Cheers
Mike
I just now found your channel through a recomendation from RUclips. With that in mind, I realize this video is 2 years old, and I am wondering if you know of a respectable solution for those of us who do rock facial hair.
Thanks for the video Mike. I'll be getting one when they're available here in the states. I had to get glasses last year and as you mentioned, my mask causes them to steam which is both annoying and dangerous. I checked them out at online UK retailers while watching the vid, the price seems fair enough.
+Cigar Smoka
I'm sure you'll be happy with it my friend.
Thanks for watching
Cheers
Mike
A good review Mike, thanks for that. It is now on my pressy list. Excellent for the days you just don't want to wear the powered respirator.
Thanks Drew, that is what I think as well mate. How's the new hat ;)
Take care
Mike
The new hat's doing well, I'm trying to train it to stay put. I've had offers of six inch nails studded round the brim. :-)
Around ten years ago I bought the JSP Aircap, which I think is now called the Powercap. Then it cost me around £100 with a spare visor and visor protectors. It's a great bit of kit which blows filtered air down in front of the face and then takes expelled air out around the edges of the protective face mask. There is never a condensation build-up and it has the bonus of the cap being a hard-hat. The battery when fully charged will last many hours. Also, if the wearer has a beard and/or spectacles it will not impede its effectiveness. The filters are replaceable with the regular filter canisters so you can choose what filtration you want if you don't like the ones it comes with. I see now though that it has more than doubled in price at some outlets.
+Gary Wall
Hi Garry, I too have the Powercap, and love it as well. This is also a very effective solution, and less of an investment. I will be overviewing the AirShield Pro next week, and giving one away too!!
Take care
Mike
Burning question - how many hours before filters need changing please?
It really does depend on the type of environment that it is used in, I believe there are some specs on the website.
Take care
Mike
Love the information thank you
+Mike Tobish
Glad it was helpful Mike.

Mike
Good review, Mike.
+RickTurns
Thanks Rick

Mike
I bought this mask to fight against the Covid-19 however im nervous im not getting an airtight seal, how do i check? ive tried cupping the exhalation valve but dont know what im supposed to be looking for
I really don't know whether or not this suitable for the reason you bought it, it is very effective in filtering wood dust, that is all I can say really.
Excellent. Thank you.
Thanks Robert.
Great video mike 😜👍🏽👌🏼🌲🌲🌲
+Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning
Thanks Nick

Mike
@@MikeWaldt I work in a plastic grinding room it gets really dusty do you recommend this mask and if so what filters should I use on it
Is the filter any good for aerosol spray finishes, or do they have a filter for such?
What is the price point as compared to a similar 3M mask?
Thanks.
Thomas Russell I’m trying to dig a little deeper for info relating to high VOC solvents, but they do say “high level of protection for a wide range of applications well beyond just Woodworking”, check out trends Facebook page posts people also asking questions relating to solvents and paints...... I’ll update when I get more info!
Richard Morley Thanks
+Richard Morley
Thanks for your input Richard, much appreciated.

Mike
+Thomas Russell
Hi Thomas, I think Richard answered your question.
Take care
Mike
Mike Waldt thanks Mike
Can this be worn with a full face shield/visor? If not, then is it really safe for use when using the lathe. On the plus side, it looks simple in design, and is much less cumbersome when using the table saw or bench sander - where my best efforts seem to be inadequate at removing enough dust from the air! Thanks for another great review Mike, as usual
+Clive Drake
Hi Clive, you can wear a full face shield with this with no problem.
I have the Uvex Bionic and the standard Axminster type, and there is room to spare.
Cheers
Mike
Thanks Mike, much appreciated
Clive Drake
My pleasure Clive, any time :)
Mike, another great review. With hepa filtration, one cannot smell chicken broth boiling, and I cannot with my Trend half mask. I’d like to know if you can, with your beard?
Lol ... thanks Mike ... I have never tested the chicken broth thing I have to be honest 🙂
How well does it fit under a face shield? :-)
Hi Michael, I have the Uvex face shield, and when I use it instead of my powered respirator it fits fine, plenty of room.
Hope this helps
Cheers
Mike
Does yours make an odd noise when breathing?
Afraid not Matk.
Cheers
Mike
Hey Mike, I noticed it was pinching your ears back a bit, is it uncomfortable after a while in that regard?
I didn't have it placed "just right" in this video, it was just to show it on. As with most things after a little micro adjusting all is well and comfortable :)
Thanks for watching and commenting
Cheers
Mike
I have and prefer the Airshield Pro which offers full face protection, as I have a tendency to have things fly off when least expected
+Peter Compton
Hi Peter, I will be overviewing the AirShield Pro in my next video.
Cheers
Mike
I thought you already used the Pro??
Hi Mike, are you happy with the trend mask a year on?
They are available here in Australia now and I need something better than I have.
Any issues? Appreciate your thoughts,Mark
Hi Mark, it is a great piece of kit, but can be a little "heavy" with long periods of use in the begining, but I got used to it, and use it equally with my JSP respirator, which is a bit lighter.
Take care
Mike
Thanks Mike 👍👍
Hi Mike,I believe they are looking for a new Darth Vader in the next Star Wars, I think you could get the part if you could breath a little louder! Cheers David
+David Burgess
Lol ... I'll have to try harder David ... Lol.
Take care
Mike
As a glass wearing clean living person the mask looks, without the threat of glasses misting up. It might have been good when I was a 15 year apprentice carpenter and joiner when sawing up sheets of asbestos but it was not, so no protection then. I note you did not mention price which might be relevant coming from Trend.
Thanks for the video, Mike.
Take care
James
icespeckledhens £25 on Amazon...
Trends website quotes £21.95+VAT
Generally I’d expect most retailers putting out trade prices around £21.95inc VAT
+icespeckledhens
Hi James, the reason for not mentioning price is that with a bit of searching it can differ quite a bit :)
Thanks for watching mate
Cheers
Mike
Mike Waldt I understand that, Mike, it's just that anything from Trend seems to be pricey. However, your video was, as usual, a genuine unbiased appraisal and I do take note.
Thanks
James
Nice review Mike. With all your facial, It's a pity they can't be worn on your head. No restriction up there. Haha. Thanks for the video.
+Stu Brearley
lmao Stu ... now there's a thought for a new design!!!
Cheers
Mike
I was really worried when you took the mask off...I thought you were going to mess your hair up!
+peter smith
Fat chance of that ever happening Peter ;)
Cheers
Mike
Noice!
+Max Crankshaft
Cheers!
Thanks for the video Mike, but you actually don't need a mask, as it would appear from the cleanliness of your workshop that you have mastered the secret art of turning without making dust!
Absolutely NO COMMENT David!! ;)
Take care mate
Mike
Perhaps you could just move the facial hair to the top of your head. Two problems solved then. ;o) It looks like a very good system actually. Thanks for posting...sorry I couldn't resist the hair joke.
+Gil Grace
The system as well as your comment are excellent Gil :)
Cheers
Mike
There is a name for people without facial hair...women
+Airborne Mike
LMAO:)
