I started leaning dental receptionist job and this video is spot on! I will keep in my mind and apply to my new role everything you mentioned in this video! Yes you are right. The receptionist is the one greets the patient first and check them out at the end. I've been an dental assistant since this year and the owner saw me how good I am with patients and asked me to be "the face" of the practice. Thank you for making great videos always! Big fun of your channel from NYC!

In some countries in Europe no dental reception role is requiring you to be an hygienist or dental assistant first! As well, the receptionists will schedule you to the right dentist, depending on your problem, it's true, but they will never explain you the treatments or what you need. That is the dentist job! I used the dentist many times, and the receptionists are mainly doing the admin, not a dentist hands on job. An hygienist will not explain you about the crowns either! They will just send you to the specialist. Not sure why do I need to be any of those to be a receptionist. Know where to send your patients is one thing, explaining their treatments is not your job. But even than, if the person says he/she has x,y,z symptoms, the best is book a consultation with a generalist and they will know where to send the patient next.

@@kokabkabir1006 hello! Always greet and acknowledge patients. If they have a question about their treatment tell them, “any questions regarding your treatment you can always ask doctor.” If you don’t know the answer to a question, for example, a question about insurance say,” let me find out for you” and go ask someone like the biller or office manager.

I went to truck school to acquire my Class B license. I'm driving an RV that conveniently seats three dental chairs. The RV is a mobile dental unit. Usually it is taken out once or twice a month for events. When I am not driving the RV, I am learning how to become a dental receptionist, which is where I spend most of my time at work. I want to learn as much as I can and this was the first video that I watched. Very informative and inspiring for me. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me on my journey in this dental field.

Hello, I wanted to ask if your course uses dentrix? And if so which level of software? As in is it updated with software updates from recent yrs

I use Domtrak, I've probably worked with about 5 different software programs too! This course is meant to be universally helpful so it won't matter which software you use. You can also see a sneak peek of the contents here: dentalelle.podia.com/reception
