Fun fact: Kerbals in KSP1, and probably KSP2, have stats! They determine how brave, or how dumb your kerbals look in the camera view. Rarely, Kerbals spawn as "badasses", who are *always* having a blast, and Jeb is always a badass.

*VAB Camera controls:* Right click rotates the camera about the focused part. Middle mouse click on another part to change the center of focus. Middle mouse held on the background lets you translate the camera vertically. Scroll wheel to zoom.
There is a way to make it even wider, if you turn the plane 90 degrees in the VAB you get more length allowance. Only drawback is you have to turn it on the runway.
You can move your camera by pressing mouse wheel. Also alt and different mouse keys change camera. Also helps with the tailpiece, to look at the ship from 45 degrees from front, then turn the tailpiece to face the end, and hover mouse to the tail, it finds nearest attach point intself and voila!
One of these days a young scientist with proper science and engineering masterclass knowledge will see these KSP videos from RCE and question his sanity while having a laugh about ,seeing the great banter and efficient engineering skills from Matt .

Your wings would flap less if you used turned up fins on the tips to combat the eddy currents generated at the edge. Like modern airliners and eagles have.

Single stage to orbit is one of the most beloved builds in ksp, it's harder in ksp2 due to the fuel differences(the rapier engine which is basically the saber is very inefficient in space so for anything beyond LKO it's not really effective)
as someone who originally bought the game when he was 11, and played for 2 years along with Minecraft exclusively, this man has improved since his earlier videos, and impressed me. he has gotten past the "normie KSP let's play" phase, and is actually building functioning vehicles, which when this is literally rocket science, is impressive just to take off and land in an in-air plane! I am not sure if he got there on his own, or watched a tutorial, but he done did a good job whatever the case may be. a few mistakes are made on occasion, but as a rule of thumb, RCE, if you want something to attach to the side of a vehicle (like wings or landing gear), aim the cursor on the vehicle where you want it to go, if you want it to attach to one of those attachment points (like a nose cone), aim your camera to the side, and with the part grabbed, position it correctly, and move it close to the green circle (or the gray cylinder in KSP2), and click when it snaps. also, I saw you had snapping on while applying landing gear to your wings, using the move tool will work, especially if you have it set to local, but snapping works weird with some parts, primarily most if not all wings, sometimes on fuselages it won't work either, but that is a rare example. when trying to place anything on a wing, you should always turn off snapping, unless you want it on the center line of the wingtip, even struts as the inside of the wing will catch the strut's other end. I will edit/reply to this if I figure out what the third thing I wanted to say was... (I just realized this vid is 1 year old lol)
If you select the button just left of the colour button and double click a part the camera will focus on that part. However there is a bug where trying to move a part does nothing so you have to click on the button left of the last button I told you about (the one left of the colour button) and then click on the button at the far left of that toolbar, from my experience this usually helps. You can also double click any part when flying to focus on it.
@11:45 You can click MMB to center the camera on a part in the VAB. There are methane-only tanks. Typically you want the center of lift slightly behind the center of mass for stability. For better pitch control you need control surfaces far away from the center of mass, like tailfins (more torque).

ehy RCE, just a heads up, the rear wheels needs to be a smidge foreward of the center of lift to be able to use them as pivoting points for rotation, that's any kind mechanical pitch that relies on the gemetry of the plane rather than sheer power from the engines. AND, more importantly, ideally planes should have both center of mass and lift in the same point, that's why they have fuel pumps that move fuel around to balance the craft, but in KSP you want you lift right behind the center of mass. Remember, a plane with a center of lift behing the center of mass flies bad, a plane with the center of mass behind the center of lift fliues once.
16:06 don’t think anyone mentioned this yet, but there is a known issue where multiple engines pulling fuel from the same fuel source causes major FPS loss. So, 40 engines on the single fuel tank row in the middle is what’s causing the FPS drop. You can fix it by having a single fuel source for each engine.

Try to use the wings as pistons... retract the inner one in (by making it shorter) and add one on to the end... then make the second one short, and add a third.... the put a wheel on the outer most wing and make it long then add another wheel, and make the middle wing long again then add another wheel and make the inner wing full length... could probably get a 3rd wing in there
to increase the wing width further, you could attach the large wings, make them small and attach more on the outside and make them small again and then from the outside inwards make the wings as large as you can
You can change the center of rotation of the camera in the VAB by Middle Mouse on the part you want to center also there are specific Methane Fuel Tanks where you get more Fuel per Tank while not needing to care about the oxidizer

this last version would probably be amazing for sunlight chasing flights. basically put a lot of photovoltaic systems on it, have a electricity based Propulsion take over in upper stratosphere, just needing a bare minimum of power in comparison to lift off and fly always in a Timezone lit by the sun. everlasting science vessel in kerbal and real life. well, provided reality would allow such a wobbly wing XD its like a giant version of Solar flights of Airbus. except for size and starter propulsion it could be like there Zephyr programme. that being said i dont know if its part of Kerbal to have a purely solarbased propulsion once you reach stratosphere. 🤔
Make the wing really short, and keep stacking wings next to it. Then expand the end wing to max, and continue down the wings until the last one. Open editor and launch. Idk if this'll work, but that's how, I assume, you can make the wingspan way larger

The reason the wings bent so much is because they were too long. The supports didn’t have the strength to stop the torque from the end of the wings being so far away. You then made is far worse by putting a ton of power on the weak wings. If you want it to work, you will need to phase fewer engines and place them closer to the fuselage as well as using struts to make the wings stronger.
a crazy idea - it might work or it might not work, can you try to attach the left to the right wing without a central body of the plain, make them connected to eachother and then add the central body - either clipping in or bellow them? this way the center of mass shouldnt interfere with the flapping
@@heygek2769 my logic isn't to cheat it rather than to make the win connection on top of it weather than on the sides where it connects to the body. Like real airplanes they don't have left or right wing, they have one big one and attach the fuselage to it
They control the pitch. (whether the nose points up or down) Usually installed on the tail, they work by pushing the tail down or up, rotating the aircraft around it's center of mass. So essentially, to point the nose of the airplane up, you push the tail down.

Put your com in front of coa. Moving coa back increases stability. With how that was responding you'll probably want to go just behind the center of the ball, almost at center
RCE pleaseee look up how to pan the VAB camera, with knowing that your potential will skyrocket, usually it’s just one button while you rotate will make it pan instead!
I think the colors would’ve looked better if you kept the white and red for the body but make the wings full blue, as you can change the color of specific parts

You can press middle mouse on a piece to focus the camera on it, then you can turn around and zoom in/out of this piece. Just do this on an other one to switch the focus :)

Matt there's a way to get custom flags in KSP2. So you can put the UK flag in it. Matt Lowne made a good video for it.

a crazy idea - it might work or it might not work, can you try to attach the left to the right wing without a central body of the plain, make them connected to eachother and then add the central body - either clipping in or bellow them? this way the center of mass shouldnt interfere with the flapping
Center of mass is simulated in a realistic way, there is no way to 'cheese it' as far as I'm aware.
@@heygek2769 my logic isn't to cheat it rather than to make the win connection on top of it weather than on the sides where it connects to the body. Like real airplanes they don't have left or right wing, they have one big one and attach the fuselage to it

Looks like you forgot the tail wing things. I believe they are called "elevators", since they control the elevation of the plain.
They control the pitch. (whether the nose points up or down)
Usually installed on the tail, they work by pushing the tail down or up, rotating the aircraft around it's center of mass. So essentially, to point the nose of the airplane up, you push the tail down.

Put your com in front of coa. Moving coa back increases stability. With how that was responding you'll probably want to go just behind the center of the ball, almost at center
RCE pleaseee look up how to pan the VAB camera, with knowing that your potential will skyrocket, usually it’s just one button while you rotate will make it pan instead!
I think the colors would’ve looked better if you kept the white and red for the body but make the wings full blue, as you can change the color of specific parts

You can press middle mouse on a piece to focus the camera on it, then you can turn around and zoom in/out of this piece. Just do this on an other one to switch the focus :)
