oh man playing the original of this game in multiplayer was amazing, some of the hyper dense maps are fantastic to play when both you and your opponent learned how to boost through tight alleyways

Woolie, whether you're grounded or mid-air is irrelevant if you're getting hit by lightning. The electricityfrom the bolt will go through your body and seek for the ground, using your body as essentially a lightningrod and means of transportation. Woolie is kind of right about this because whenever lightning kills people, it's because the electricity went through the person's vital organs as the lightning tried to reach the ground. If you're mid-air, the lightning just won't hit the ground but it will still go through your body, however, the sheer heat of the bolt itself will be more than enough to fry you if you're midair. I might be wrong about this but I believe that because the lightning will have nowhere to go, it will just convert to heat instead which is the killing factor. So while your organs may be safe from being electrocuted, the immense heat will make your body go boom boom. I'm not an expert so I might be wrong about the effects of being grounded but I'm 99% sure a lightning bolt *will* kill you if you're midair.
