@@atomaweaponThe race swaps serve the story and the character dynamics so well, tbh. Not sold on Armand yet (cloying feeling that it was done for a twist in season 1).
Now if you want to see a race swap gone wrong, watch the Mayfair Witches. They erase two great characters at once, for no discernable reason. Michael could have been black. Aaron even more so. Instead we get the most vanilla black man that has ever graced TV screens.

It is heartbreaking to see Claudia in the yellow dress looking so defeated. Claudia thinks she found a home but in reality, her grisly end. It's also evident that she has a lot of resentment for both Lestat and Louis. Lestat was right, the old world vampires are vicious.
Imagine yourself living hundred years, surronded all these years by wars, revolitions and mad rulers of Old Europe. Viciousness will be kind of advantage

This was absolutely fantastic, as someone who read the books, this gives new audiences so much but also nothing, I love that. Normally, trailers struggle now at not giving away too much information, but this was perfect.
Just finished season 1 and I've just wanted to say: you guys did a solid job. Congratulations to everyone involved. This series honors Anne Rice's legacy.
The spirit of the written work flows through this series, it is very evident that the creators have total respect for the source material. Fabulous.

I cannot wait for season 2. This adaptation of the novel is fantastic. The casting is perfect, the writing is sharp, intense and compelling, the sets all consuming. I am so happy the genius of Anne Rice and her books lives on in this series.
Please make this available for the whole world to see! It’s too gorgeous to be confined to a few countries where AMC+ is available.
And please don't make other countries wait weeks or even months! Release it everywhere at the same time, and if it's only in English (with according subtitles), I'm sure a lot of people would happily take that over not being able to watch it legally at all!
They don’t want to put their shows on Netflix anymore to push their own streaming platform only five people use 😭 It’s a travesty! It’ll never get the exposure that Breaking Bad and Walking Dead got when they were on Netflix

This series should be held up as the perfect example of how a modern adaptation SHOULD be done. And what it looks like when it is done right. The writers have elevated the story for a new platform. They have made a lot of changes from the books while keeping the core events intact, and everything about it just feels right. Well done 👏!
it’s very refreshing to see veteran fans expressing praise for this show! i know there were quite a few expressing disdain for the adaptation, but as both a book and movie fan, the show far exceeded any expectations i had. it’s now the de facto version for me! the casting is unlike anything i’ve ever seen on a tv show - absolutely perfect!

To Sam Reid,Jacob Anderson, Assad zaman, to Eric Bogosian I want to say thank you for giving yourselves completely to theses characters and to AmC I applaud you for having the guts to give Anne Rices legacy the proper platform for her works. She faced a lot of hate for her views and her forward thinking and despite that she literally laid the groundwork for all network television and movie vampire films in the modern era! These aren’t teen vampire love triangles or childish storylines this is about how immortality is a heavy burden and the trauma it causes!

It's good that they are truly committing to unreliable narrator instead of going 'Louis was totally reliable' route. Other writers would have out of cowardice.

@@Ocean-gh7wzthis is one of the reasons I’ve decided to give season 2 of Mayfair a second chance the writers and show runners of this series will oversee Mayfair and they are doing a soft reboot. They realized they needed to step their game up for the eventual crossover season!
I’m also so much more confident in these writers ability to tell the story of Queen of the damned and Lestat the vampire correctly
@@QuEsT_X right? The way that scene was filmed was so weird at the beginning. Even if it was a one sided fight, Louis ought to have defended himself even out of reflection but Lestat suddenly had not a single trace of damage? Not bruises, no blood, he was completely pristine at the end of it when he came down from the sky. It was weird even for a TV show and the show seemed way to careful to make that mistake with simple makeup.
I was so nervous at first with how long we’d been promised a tv series, but I bought the full season on a whim and it is now my most watched piece of media. Perfection!! RIP Anne Rice, your world is still loved!!

I’m so fucking HYPED- I’m honestly so in love with this show and don’t know how it hasn’t gained more popularity ;-; not only are the actors fucking AMAZING, and gorgeous but the cinematography is so enthralling and beautiful. I kinda understand if fans of the book are hesitant but like I don’t know why this show has gotten a more overall audience increase cus it’s PHENOMENAL
Its not available in most countries sadly. I cant recommend it to anyone, the only way I can watch it is by paying for a vpn and watching it on my laptop. Most people that arent already fans just arent willing to do all that, which is understandable.
Because nobody has AMC plus. There was increase from initial release just through word of mouth recommendations and their short partnership with Max.
Availability is low because of its digital distribution being on AMC+.
Additionally, the older movie is just simply better.

Because Emmy's tend to be snobs and look down on so called "horror shows" Also HBO Max is a huge competition they always have lot's of shows that get nominated, and can make it tough for other networks to compete. But hopefully IWTV will finally get some Emmy's and recognition for all the amazing work on this show.
Because those voters only watch the super hyped 🤑 shows... Sad really but despite awards being relevant the most important is that it's cherished and praised by the audience and media (and they gotta make it available in more locations!!!)

I just finished binging the first season. OMG. I knew Rashid was Armand in the 5th episode (I think that’s the one where he puts his hand on Louis to restrain him)it just clicked. Because I’ve read all the books so many times. I was like OMFG! And then it was. I LOVE THIS SHOW. They’re doing an AMAZING job!

I’m so hype. Loved season 1 just as much as I loved reading Anne Rice’s Chronicles when they were re-emerging on the scene after the 1994 film. I’m glad they’re reimagining the books and even paying occasional homage to the film, but keeping the spirit of both with its own flair. It’s cool to see how things have changed.
My good heavens this season's gonna be even better! This is some D*MN Good story telling! A genius move, making us wonder where and how Louis' been unreliable. And, in truth, all the smarter knowing Anne Rice herself pulled this same trick several times.

I know people didn’t give it a chance, but after the first half of the season, it makes you want it more. Thankfully, they did spilt it into two season from how the book is, giving us one half from them fleeing and being in Europe in the second half.

Probably because Louis was not well and Armand thought it was too much for him to bear.

Because I can truly see Louis begging Armand to erase his memory off the pain off Claudia death.
