@@bartolomeestebanmurillo4459 I read an interview the other day where he talked about hanging out in gay bars and scoring heroin in the 70s so like... did they manage to cast somebody who eerily fit the bill or did they mould the character around Eric's actual personality and experiences? I haven't read the books but from what I understand they made a lot of changes.
Assad’s resting face is so… pretty. Anyway, I’m so excited for this new dynamic. Daniel adds so much to the show, like a breath of fresh air between intense vampire stuff! Can always count on him for some vampire shade 😂
I too was giggling a lot watching this episode, haha. The way the dynamic between Daniel and Armand shifted with Armand dropping the Rashid act, how it will develop later. It's so entertaining to watch, especially with this quality of acting. Also, Assad is simply gorgeous.. and the costuming department now have their hands free to go after this ethereal elegance kind of look with him, deadly combo.
I love their dynamic - I just know every scene they have together will be even more interesting once we'll discover as well some things that happened during the 1970s :)))
@@MrMgage13 Nah, I think Daniel and Louis are coming at the conversation from a point of mutual respect, so they're not trying to make it a competition. Daniel and Armand are coming at every conversation from a point of "I will irritate this man more than any man has ever been irritated before"
Just realized: Molloy is doing today's Columbo (for those of you who are old enough to remember his technique...just starting to leave the room, turns around, says that something just occured to him....)
There has been a lot of talks about Armand somehow manipulating Louis' memories/mind. Maybe something big or traumatic happened with Daniel as well to make him forget Armand though i don't understand why he remembers Louis and that night he got attacked.
This has bothered me from the beginning: Armand and Louis CAN READ MOLLOY'S MIND. They know what he reads from the Talamasca, even when he's ruminating how to ask a trick question. But this series is treating it as though the two vampires don't have a clue what Molloy is up to. And Louis can read Armand's mind and should be able to sense what he's up to.
Assad talked in interviews that there’s gonna be an explanation for why he couldn’t read daniel’s mind. Armand is also very old so he is good at blocking thoughts. Louis tho idk why he didn’t always read daniel’s thoughts, maybe he didn’t care as much cuz he actually wanted to do the interview/remember as much as possible
@@kdot101 I agree about louis. He doesn't read Daniel's mind because he isn't playing a game. Louis wanted interview. I guess Louis was on the edge of great sadness, so interview was the only thing which could bring him to life. And he probably didn't really care what was going on in Daniel's mind As for Armand, did Assad really mention in one of the interviews that it will be explained why Armand didn't read Daniel's mind? I watched a lot of interviews but must missed this one As for me, could be Armand's interest in Daniel and some vulnerability (bc of Louis's past, bringing up lestat and other stuff) an enough explanation to why he didn't read Daniel's mind about talamasca? 😅
@@kdot101 Armand will eventually NOT be able to read Daniel's mind, because he is going to the one to turn him. But right now, Daniel is not a vampire. (I could never figure out the Devil's Minion even in the book [Queen] )
@@sharcon3891 very true, rn i think his inability to read daniel’s thoughts has something to do with him being careful about not returning memories he’s erased or about armand’s emotions messing with his abilites, guess we’ll know in s3
Assad won me over Sam, I love Sam but he's different. In the context of his character, at the same time he becomes charming, engaging, mysterious, although twisted (they all are in their own way) but that’s not relevant to the audience from my perspective. And everything as a whole contributes to that. As a character, he's strong but also fragile and he shows it, how much he's looking for love and to be loved, how needy he is and these are characteristics that touch us and become appealing. Physically he is portrayed in an attractive way and personally I think he has graceful features that make him gently handsome. Nobody needs to be drop-dead gorgeous, but we can feel his tenderness and the way he’s so soft spoken makes him even more attractive.

I like to think they're already thinking way past Season 2 and literally just trying so hard not to outright spoil everything~ 🤭🤭😏🤣😊💖
Eric is literally just playing himself lol.
Yes! He even mentioned that in the 70s when he moved to New York, he was that brash young writer!
as well as anthony bourdain lol

I can’t wait for them to fall in love on the show
Same ❤
me too i think their dynamic is gonna be even better than the one in the book

You could tell that Jacob was holding in a laugh when he comes down the stairs. He almost lost it when he and Eric make eye contact lol
Armand stealss the show! He is so intriguing! Mysterious with a strength and vulnerability is not normally portrayed, but I find attractive.
Agreed!! I have totally fallen in love with a character because he’s so ethereal and he draws you in. I’m in love with this guy.

Assad is one gorgeous man! He is my favorite in the show. I love his portrayal as Armand, who is my favorite character in the books.❤❤❤❤
I agree!
Agree too.. Antonio Banderas plays Armand in movie but he was not too good as him like Assad
Eric mentioned that young Daniel was based on his younger self who moved to NYC in the 70s!
Giggling while holding hands with Jacob?! I'm gonna need more details
I would be giggling too
something about assads geordie accent and erics american scratches my brain in such a good way what an iconic pair

Eric Bogosian is my new fave old-male actor.
I love hearing Assad speak. He has interesting perspective

Such a beautiful man 🤩
I wish this interview was after the last episode. Their whole exchange, Daniel checkmating Armand. Daniel getting turned, theres so much to explore
